Italian vibes for ambience. Very nice place for a date. Service was great and food was promptly. Very good portion of pasta. Ordered 4 pasta but our favourite was the squid ink pasta and the salmon pasta. The rest was still alright. The squid ink pasta really did surpassed my expectations. You can taste the sweetness of the seafood! We also ordered the cured meats before our meal. Portion was good for 4pax. Comes with rockets, breadsticks, dried fruits, and cheeses help balance out the salt, while sour pickles help cut through all that fat. Would come here again for the squid ink pasta! Recommended pasta choice

Food was average. We bought a $60 bottle of wine but they wouldnt give me ice for my tap water 'they only offer ice with soft drinks'! For our anti pasta entree, I watched the server take breadsticks out of a packet with bare hands - no gloves - has he not heard of covid! Offered complimentary bread but not ice - I found that extraordinary.wouldn't recommend this for food or service. There are plenty of better restaurants on Lygon

Randomly stumbled into this place, and glad we did. Enjoy every dish! Portion is perfect, friendly service, no long queue and pasta cooked to perfection! Keep it up!

The best Italian restaurant we've been to in Melbourne. We've visited about 8 times already and every time the service has been great and the food is simply delicious. Highly recommend.

Best Italian restaurant in Melbourne, super friendly and helpfull staff, they can recommend a nice wine to match with the dishes that you order.
They also offered some specials and they were beautiful

Second time back at da Guido! It’s gotta be the best pasta on Lygon street, maybe the best in Melbourne. The chef is very talented. The menu is short and concise so it is easy to order. High quality ingredients simply prepared and very well executed. Less is more. Everything was bang on. Wagyu eye fillet was perfectly cooked well priced. Good wine and friendly, knowledgeable service. Portion sizes were also very good. Very reasonably priced considering the quality. Can’t wait to go back soon. Highly recommend. Thanks Valerio

Wonderful experience I had in this restaurant! We had carbonara, seafood pasta and wagyu ravioli; all of them were properly cooked and so delicious! My favourite is the seafood pasta! So fresh that you can taste the natural sweetness and a bit taste of creamy of the fresh prawns and scallops! Everything served with wonderful balance, texture and good idea of recipe

The food was superb! Perfectly sized portions, flavourful, good menu and wine selection. Our waiter Valerio was excellent! He is very energetic and knowledgeable.

A very delightful dinner experience in the Lygon street. The host was warm and customer service was solid.

We had excellent dishes (ask for their special scotch fillet carpaccio). Our three different types pasta was delicious (blue cheese gnocchi, beef ragu, and salmon pasta) and they made them in front of you (open kitchen).

We highly recommend this place and will go back.

Beautiful atmosphere and high quality ingredients. Just lacked flavour. For example, carpaccio needed salt & steak needed a sauce of some kind

We spent there our anniversary, best romantic night ever, the food was awesome, nice presentation, incredible taste.
The manager was really friendly and the waiter was really professional.

Portion sizes are abnormally small for the prices.
The customer service was absurd & the timing of the food was very poor.
We were asked to pay $5 for each plate when we wanted to cut the birthday cake and were not told prior.
The management and organisation of this restaurant was terrible.
Very disappointed, will not recommend to anyone and will never be returning.

Easy to order as menu options are few. No specials of the day though which was a little disappointing.unable to accommodate us inside which was a shame even though we had a booking. Food was standard for Lygon street. Good attentive service.

We would like to thank Da Guido team for the lovely dinner! We usually go there for the authentic Italian pasta, but yesterday we had the Wagyu eye fillet and it was incredibly good!

Wow. This must be Melbourne’s best Italian. Authentic northern Italian cuisine at its best. Love love love it.
