Cucinetta reviews
70As a regular, I know the menu well, but this visit was to try the Cacio e Pepe cooked in the parmesan cheese wheel. It was absolutely delicious. We started with two of our favorites, calamari and caprese. A perfect evening.
Dined here for lunch to celebrate my Mum's birthday and we had the best time. Firstly the service was outstanding, Thara gave us the VIP treatment, she explained the menu passionately that we wanted to order all from the lunch special. Second the 29 cheese gnocchi was to die for, delicious! The truffle risotto was to perfection and the steak which I had was served slicked and it wes the best! For the smallest restaurant in Melbourne it didn't disappoint. What you see on social media posts is what you would get when you dine in. Thank you so much for making my Mum's birthday memorable. Highly recommended.
Food was lovely and venue nice but service was very rushed and therefore unpleasant. From the minute we got there we were told we need to be out by 8: 30 (which was fine with us, very standard) and needed to order soon (it was 6: 45) and felt rushed all night. Food came so quickly and was whisked away quickly. By 8pm or before they had every table empty so everyone else must have had the same experience. It was rushed for no reason we felt.
Jackie Felgate's 3AW review got us there.for the 1st time. The food will have us keep coming back. We dined with our daughter and husband who has just been to Italy. Both of the boys had caccio e pepe and the girls both had ragout. All agreed as good as each of those dishes were in Rome, Milan and Bologna where all 4 of us have had the same dishes.
One word. Magnifico.
Ciao and grazie
A memorable experience at Cucinetta. From the friendly host / waitress to the creamy pasta dishes it was delightful evening in this warm and cosy restaurant. Service is almost too fast!
If you are looking for a intimate, cosy and unique dinner venue, this place is for you. There restaurant has only got space for roughly 15 people at any one time so make sure you book in advance.
We came especially for the cheese wheel pasta and it did not disappoint! It was delicious and well portioned.
We also got the ragu - equally as nice.
Make sure you order their tiramisu, you won’t regret it.
I was a little disappointed with the lady who greeted us saying we were 30 mins late to a 6pm booking when the email confirmation I had said 6: 30 and we got there at 6: 25. We were rushed through our dinner and service because the table was reserved for another diner at 8pm.
We went in for Cucinetta’s 10 year anniversary special 29-cheese gnocchi. The gnocchi is great, came in with a sizzling pot, cheese bubbling like lava and the table was covered by the tasty smell of cheeses. Every bite can taste different kind of cheese, and the gnocchi is nice and firm not soggy at all. Special duck rague pasta tastes good too, warm and comfy. I have alcohol allergy but the restaurant has non-alcoholic mocktails, look posh and tastes unique. The entry scallops are one of the must-tries, grilled scallop full of aroma and soft and juicy inside, with light mushed bean and herbs, can eat forever and never got enough.
Environment is lovely, unique good interior design, cute glasses for wine, beer, mocktails too. Great for date nights, can park cars along the street, and highly recommended to book in advance.
I loved the location of the restaurant. Very friendly staff, one of the best Italian food I have ever had in my life. Wow!
Fantastic place.
I went to Cucinetta with a friend for lunch. It was a warm day and the waiter immediately offered to lower the awning. I ordered a plain rocket salad without the tomatoes, prosciutto etc.that the waiter described; he gave me a discount on the price. (So we tipped him nicely.) Definitely coming back!
Always sublime, excellent service and atmosphere. Exceptional food and wine. Love this place.
Went there with my family for 4of us last week, if I can give 0 star, I would definitely do it, food was cold, place aren't comfortable to seat, service were pretty rough and not friendly, the price you pay can go sownehre 10 times better.
As always, good food, friendly staff and warm ambience
Unfortunately we had a ‘screamer’ at the table right next to us. It was tempting to tell her to lower her voice! Some people think we all need to hear what they’re saying … and it was so boring! Not the restaurant’s fault
We’ll be back
Thanks
Amazing dinner, I had the cheese wheel cacio e pepe which was very tasty. Also excellent service!
Excellent food - very tasty. Cacio e Pepe was the highlight. The staff were brilliant in fitting us in and very attentive that made the evening special. A must visit for great Italian Food - Bellissimo
My wife and I dined here last week for while on trip to Melbourne.
Small, intimate restaurant but with great atmosphere and personal service.
Gluten free linguine was outstanding and the recommended Italian wines left me asking for how to buy the wine.
Really enjoyed it and lifted our spirits after a long work day.
Highly recommended.
Booked in for a lunch on the last day of the cheese wheel cacio e pepe dish- glad we did! Really tasty pasta dishes, totally full after. Wish we had been able to make a dinner as the wine list looked fab. It’s a tiny place but warm and efficient service (only counted 16 seats). Well worth booking into for a dinner date.
Second time eating in at Cucinetta and once again is a superb dining experience. The cheese wheel cacio E Pepe was absolutely resplendent. Will continue to dine here!
We really enjoyed it! The food is amazing and the service is outstanding. It's a cute tiny place where you feel more than welcome, I would love to go again and again.
Such a lovely intimate venue. The environment was warm and friendly. The hosts are delightful and knowledgeable and the food is delicious. You feel like nothing is too much trouble. A great wine list too. Ciao Bella! Buonissimo xxx
