Countrywide Cottages Self Contained Great Ocean Road & Pet Friendly Accommodation

We booked the the Villa, Canopy and Igloo cottages to cater for our family group of 12 people and 4 dogs. Di was a lovely host who had thought of absolutely everything to make our stay enjoyable. The enclosed yard at each cottage meant that the dogs were completely safe in their own backyard, as well as in the huge BBQ area and the dam paddock. The dogs loved meeting Cookie, the friendly alpaca. This as the best possible location to enjoy an amazing holiday with our beloved 4-legged friends.

Gorgeous cottage, clean, fully equipped and a beautiful, relaxing property and such a great holiday for the dogs. Di and Stuart are fantastic, friendly hosts. The doggy treats smell so good when you walk into reception I thought that Di was cooking a roast! We loved it and can't wait to go back sgain

This is our second visit to Countrywide Cottages, and the only things I am sorry about is we left it too long between visits.and we didn’t stay long enough. The Cottages are comfortable and Thoughtfully appointed, even having delicious home made cookies for us and our Paddy. They have thought about absolutely everything you could want in the Cottages as well as having a great BBQ area, again with everything you need, a large dam, fenced paddocks and beautiful walking tracks through the bush. Even an alpaca who is very inquisitive and was great fun for our dog to interact with. Di and Stuart are the most friendly people and are so welcoming
It is a beautiful peaceful serene place just to be.with your dog, you really don’t need to leave. But if you want to see the area they have heaps of info on where to eat and Interesting local places to visit and maps of the beach where you can take your dog for a run in the surf! Our dog loved the large fenced yard at the Cottage, the walks and the off lead paddocks, it’s all set up for dogs and human enjoyment!
We were lucky to have good weather and I loved sitting outside at night, my beloved pup Paddington at my side, starring up at the beautiful bright stars through a canopy of trees. Talk about bliss. Can’t wait to go back to this wonderful place.

Countrywide Cottages is such a relaxing and restorative place to stay. We took the dogs down there for three days after having to cancel twice in 2020 due to COVID-19 and it was everything we didn't even realise we needed.

There are so many personal touches to the properties, treats for the dogs, seeds for birds, cookies for us. The enclosed backyard was large enough for our dogs and a beautiful space to sit and relax.

There is no reception at the properties but that was exactly what we needed to be able to escape from the world.

The location is about 30 minutes from the tourist beaches and everything you need is close. The property itself has heaps to do, walking tracks, a dam, a barbecue area.

I highly recommend Countrywide and we'll be going again.

Countrywide Cottages was a beautiful escape for me and my dogs. The cabin was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, and I felt at home immediately. The yard was built with dogs in mind, with gates everywhere I needed them, whether it was to contain the dogs in the yard or the veranda, or allow me to sneak to the car without them following me.
It was lovely to find some little treats for both my dogs on arrival as well, it was a sweet touch. My dogs loved exploring the large yard attached to the cabin, as well as walking around the property, or swimming in the dam.
One downfall (or perk, depending on your perspective) is that they really don't have very good phone reception or internet. If you need to be online, this is not the place for you. It was fine for me because I wanted peace and quiet, but I discovered how reliant I have become on the internet. However, it was a great place to get offline.
I would highly recommend staying here, either with or without dogs.

My husband, Archie, and myself, recently stayed 3 nights in the Igloo Cottage at Countrywide Cottages. The peace and serenity was delicious - all that could be heard, whilst either sitting on the balcony or walking though the bush tracks, was the gentle breeze and the birds singing. All of the cottages are very private from each other. It was a delight watching the King Parrots & Rosellas sitting on the balcony. Di & Stuart were very welcoming, and information on the workings of the cottage, the immediate environment, and the local area was excellent. It was Archie's (our anxious rescue dog) first pet friendly holiday, and he loved the bushwalks, and the huge fenced off area around the cottage for him to explore/sniff etc. He wasn't game enough to say hello to the Llama or sheep, or to go for a swim in the dam, but had a great time. Ned's Retreat is a secure fenced area where Archie sniffed and mooched while we enjoyed a game of pool. The cottage was very comfortable with good quality cutlery, crockery and linen. The beds were very comfy+. We had a great supply of firewood to keep us warm when necessary and we did not want for anything. Igloo cottage is a great choice for anyone who requires a wheelchair. The cottage gets a 10 for cleanliness. We heartily recommend Countrywide Cottages for a sweet break from the bustle of life.

We absolutely loved our stay with our two dogs. The backyard is nice and spacious to play fetch and let the dogs explore. The walking trail behind the cottages was also a delight! We also loved feeding the birds and watching them. It was great to be surrounded by nature.
We will surely be back again in winter to enjoy the fire place! Thank you Di & Stu

We had the most delightful stay at Countrywide Cottages. Having the cottages looking out into the forest is truly magical. The attention to detail in the cottages is superb, with all the welcoming touches much appreciated by the family and doggies alike! The secure fenced area in front of Villa cottage is large and was the perfect playground for our two doggies. Di and Stu are the perfect hosts and go out of their way to provide information and help to their guests. The perfect place to immerse yourself in nature and find peace and relaxation!

We loved our few days away. A lovely place for all the family including your pooches. Lots to do or not.your choice.

Relaxing place to switch off and enjoy the Otways. Very dog friendly with big and secure yards, and wonderful walking trails to do within the property.

Loved our stay at the Ferny Reach cottage very well kept and cleaned to a high standard, surrounded by the the beauty of mother nature. Customer service was top and our little fur baby loved it.

Lovely quit bush location close to the Great Ocean Road and Ottways. Dog friendly and relaxing. Had a wonderful time.

Great accommodation with large yard for dogs to run around in and very friendly parrots to feed. Owners are extremely helpful and friendly. Enjoyed a nice relaying stay with Odin & Freya (dogs).

What a great place to spend our holiday. We booked very late but Di accommodated us at short notice. The cottage we stayed in was immaculate with comfortable beds, nice fireplace, and everything needed to keep the kids and adults entertained. Highly recommended!

Just returned from super stay at countrywide.superb accommodation, wonderful hosts and i was surprised by just how much there is to see on the region. We will be back. Jezza (dog) is still recovering, he was so busy on his trip!
