Ferny Reach is a lovely cottage to bring along the dogs. Big backyard and is fully fenced so very safe for them to run free. The cottage is well furnished with all amenities and comfy beddings. Great to take a walk into the bushes and also just a short drive to Lorne to enjoy beaches and cafes. Definitely recommend!

A wonderful weekend away with the children and our dog. Di was so friendly and welcoming. The cottage was clean and had everything we and our dog needed for a short break. The fenced in yard and dam was fantastic, we could just relax and soak in the treescape.

What a perfect getaway! We spent 5 wonderful days here. Our cottage (Canopy) has everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable. The furnishings are lovely. The wood stove fireplace is lovely, as is the generous supply of firewood to keep it going. And you don't have to have a pet to visit! We highly recommend staying here. Di and Stu are exemplary hosts. Thank you both.

What a beautiful peaceful place to visit. The most perfect location to relax and enjoy a home away from home. We visited with our 3 young children and our 10 year old border collie. It is the most wonderful place to bring your furry friend. We will stay again for sure!

Countrywide cottages are such a fantastic place to stay, particularly if you have dogs. We stayed for two nights and found everything wonderful. The cottage fire had been lit prior to our arrival, so we arrived at 8pm to a beautiful warm cottage. There were so many thoughtful gestures throughout our stay (dog biscuits, bird seed, sustainability information, etc.) that made the stay even more wonderful. With there being limited phone reception, we relished the opportunity to switch off from the craziness of our lives and enjoy one another’s company. We took our two dogs with us, both spaniels, and they loved swimming in the dam and wandering the walking trails both around the property and in the Otways State Forest over the road. The fully fenced backyard at the cabins is enormous with our dogs also appreciated.
Thank you Di and Stuart - we will definitely be back!

If there were six stars I would give them that! We have been going to Countrywide Cottages for over 15 years and every time we go it just gets better. Our last visit was July 2021. There is a fenced large garden to keep dogs and children safe and happy. There are only four cottages on the property (we have stayed in all of them) and they are well placed so you feel like you are alone. Inside the cottages are perfectly stocked with essentials, are very comfortable and always spotless. Everything is beautifully maintained with small improvements made every year. The personal touches of home made dog and human biscuits, bird seed, a bed and food and drink bowls for the dogs make this a very special place. We keep coming even though we no longer have a dog and our children have grown - it's just so good.
It is only one and a half hours from Melbourne. The stress leaves your body and mind as soon as you turn down the driveway. Di and Suart always leave a personal note on the board as we arrive in the dark - otherwise they would greet us. The walk around the cottages and across the road and the bird life keep us entertained along with a daily coffee and cake at Deans Marsh Store. Evenings are spent by the fire in the Winter or outside in the garden during Summer. The friendliness of Di and Stuart top it all off for a perfect short or long break - thank you for making our holidays so wonderful.

Always a pleasure to stay at Countrywide. The cottage we stay in (Igloo) has everything you need and caters for wheelchair users. The location is perfect for a getaway from everyday stress and Di & Stu make perfect hosts

We simply didn't want to leave! Di and Stu are beautiful people, who will make your stay so perfect. Its not just Dog friendly, its Dog designed. The cottages are gorgeous, completely private and we felt at home from the minute we arrived. Our greyhound loved running the safety and spaces of the fenced yards, and our cottage made both us and our Dog feel at home. Do yourself a favour, and spend some time at CountryWide Cottages. Our only regret? - that we never went earlier!

One of the best and welcoming pet friendly getaways we've had. There is something for everyone from hiking, meeting their horses, alpaca, sheep and chickens, to a kids play area where your dog has plenty of space to run around and explore. Beautiful scenery everywhere you look. Highly recommend!

The absolute BEST place to stay with your dogs! Di and Stu have made coming to Country Wide Cottages feel like a home away from home with the home made cookies, dog treats and added touches of bird seed and pet beds and bowls. Additionally, it was the most incredible place for our dogs - we could literally step out of our cabin and have them off leash the whole time. They loved exploring all of the smells and the trails, meeting the animals and especially swimming in the dam. We will definitely be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Countrywide cottages and could not fault the service or the amenities. We travelled as a family, including our 3 year old and our dog and it was a blissful detox from our phones and city life!

The cottages were not only spotless, but they provided an abundance of extra touches that really shows Di and Stuart’s appreciation for their guests. This included delicious treats for the humans, dogs and birds! Jigsaws, DVD’s and board games for the adults and books and toys for the kids. Dogs were not forgotten, with a comfy little dog bed provided for naps by the fire and the human beds were super comfy and warm!

The farm animals were wonderful to see and get up close to, and the fresh farm eggs (which our son took great delight in collecting each morning) were delicious. The array of bird life was amazing and it was lovely to wake up to birdsong each morning.

If you are after a relaxing holiday where you are able to enjoy the simplicity of life, with modern amenities, then Countrywide Cottages is for you! We cannot wait to come back!

Our second time here, and we found even more to love! This really is just the most glorious location to ‘get away from it all’.

The attention to detail and the absolute cleanliness are appreciated … but it is the natural beauty of this place that will keep us coming back. Whether you want to relax or explore, there is an option to suit you.

We travelled as a family - 2 adults, a 5 year old and 1.5 year old Kelpie. And so whilst there wasn’t much relaxing we did plenty of exploring!

This time we stayed in the Ferny Reach cabin this time. Our first stay was in the Igloo cabin. Both are gorgeous.

We can’t wait to come back again soon:)

Third time back and just as enchanting as ever! Top notch cottages with the best facilities. Games room was a huge hit with the humans and the bushwalks, dam, and large open spaces were enjoyed by our dogs very much. The hosts are very welcoming and they have done everything to make Countrywide Cottages the best place to stay, that keeps me coming back again and again! Couldn't ask for more. Thank you for an amazing stay.

We couldn't have wished for a more perfect weekend at Countrywide Cottages. The setting is beautiful and the cottages are so cosy. Our girls loved feeding the animals, playing pool and table tennis with their grandma, the board games in the cottages, the birds and the campfire outside. It is the most relaxing weekend we have had in many years and can't wait for our next visit. Thanks for your hospitality Di and Stu - you really do have a special place

I have been coming to Countrywide for close to a decade, firstly with friends and now with my partner on our own. Di and Stuart have a great eye for detail and each cabin is appointed with everything you could possibly need for staying in or touring the area. My dog also starts jumping in the backseat once we get within 500 metres of the driveway! The fenced in yards are perfect for safe ball play. Couldn't recommend more enthusiastically!

One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed at. From the moment we arrived all our worries were forgotten. I cannot recommend this place enough and my next stay is going to be for much longer. A beautiful place run by beautiful people.

Trying to find somewhere to get away from the hustle and bustle of life is hard especially when you have dogs. Countrywide Cottages was the perfect choice.

Being able to relax, go on walks with our dog and not have to worry about her running off as they fully fenced yard around our cottage was a god send.
Our girl loved her time up in the Otway's, relaxing by the fire, running around the dam and making a new friend in Cookie the Alpaca.

Staying at Countrywide ticked all of our boxes and we will definitely be returning!

We had the most wonderful weekend staying in the Canopy cottage, relaxing for the humans and so exciting for the dogs. The cottage had everything we needed and the biscuits for both humans and doggies were delicious! Thanks to Di and Stuart for all their kindness and special touches to make our stay perfect.

We've stayed in the Villa twice now and loved it on both occassions. Nestled in the forest, the cabin is sparkling clean and extremely comfortable. It was fabulous to snuggle up on the sofa, gazing at the deliciously warm log fire and listen to the sound of the rain on the roof. The setting is beautiful and so peaceful. So lovely to be able to see the trees and birds during the day and kangaroos, possums and stars at night.

Our Teen was able to access wifi at reception and was also kept entertained with the pool table and feeding the multitude of wild birds.

Fur-babies loved sniffing around in the large and very secure garden and going on walks in the forest but especially enjoyed snoozing in front of the fire.

It is really hard to find truly dog-friendly places to stay. Thanks Di and Stuart for providing an oasis of peace and tranquility for us and our fur-family.
