Countrywide Cottages Self Contained Great Ocean Road & Pet Friendly Accommodation

Countrywide Cottages is a fantastic dog friendly getaway! I cannot believe it has taken us this long to discover it. We stayed here with our 2 dogs whilst we took part in Pier to Pub in Lorne. Lorne is 30 minutes drive. Di trusted us to leave our dogs for a few hours which was fantastic. We loved that we had our own large, fenced off play area for the dogs, the accomodation (Ferny Reach) itself was clean and comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a nice meal of yabbies we caught from the dam and the bush setting made the experience a serene getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. The set up is great for one of our dogs who is reactive as the cottages are far apart from one another. We can't wait to go back there in autumn!

This place is the most peaceful and enjoyable holiday I have had in over 3 years. We always come back to this place, as Di and Stu are great hosts. There attention to detail and friendliness is remarkable. They are always willing to help, and leave goodies out for your furry friends if you bring some. She also gives you a bag of seed for the parrots, who visit frequently, and will feed out of your hand. It was a most enjoyable and relaxing holiday. It is only 1.5 hours from Melbourne, the town is lovely, and the people are all very friendly, unlike in the city. Would recommend this place to anyone, it is amazing. The walks on the grounds surrounding the property, are so peaceful and tranquil as well. Great place to take your furry friend for a walk.

Truly amazing place to stay! This was a breath of fresh air. Our kids just loved exploring out in the trees, and so dog friendly, our fur baby also had a wonderful time! Cabins are cosy and clean and extremely comfortable. We will be back for sure!

We had an amazing time at Ferny Reach with our small city dog who loved running around the fully fenced yard and going for walks around the gorgeous property. Extremely well maintained cabin with comfortable beds and a lovely fireplace. We chose to stay here when dining at Brae, Di even prearranged the taxi for us to and from the restaurant. Highly recommend a stay with or without your pets, it's a great base for travelling to the surrounding Otways region. Thank you so much Di and Stuart!

We loved our stay at Countrywide Cottages! We visited for 2 nights for a 'babymoon' before our first child arrives, and took our 3 dogs. We stayed in the Canopy cabin, which was perfect for us. The yard was a great size and securely fenced, so we could let the dogs run happily without worrying they'd get out. The cabin was comfortable and modern, and wasn't lacking anything. The fireplace was perfect for the chillier nights - I was secretly hoping the weather would be gloomy so that we could make the most of it, and thankfully we had rain and cold, so I could sit by the fire with cups of tea. Exactly what I was hoping for! Di and Stuart are so friendly and lovely. Can't wait to visit again.

We visited Countrywide Cottages during January and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The dog-friendly rating for this place should be 100 stars. From the homemade dog treats, to dog bowls and dog bed provided, sheets for the couch to the enclosed yards for the dogs was comforting and so welcoming. Our dogs a 6yr old Kelpie and 9mth old Jack Russell absolutely had the best holiday. We were able to take them for walks on the tracks around the property and the myriad of smells exhausted them. Stu and Di were so friendly. Highly recommend this place for a stay with the furbabies!

This is probably THE most dog friendly accommodation in Australia. Even without the dogs it is also one of the most enjoyable stays we've had. The location is great for relaxation.

Great place to get away and relax, nice and private felt like you where in the middle of the forest.
It was also nice to take my dog with me on a getaway where it felt he was very welcomed witch can be hard to find

On your arrival into your cottage waiting for you will be delicious home made bikkies for humans & dogs, amazing smelling soaps, dog friendly aromatherapy sprays & all the creature comforts of home & more!
There’s so much to do on the property you don’t need to leave until you’re ready to go home!

Everything about this place is magical, just come and you will fall in love with this place right away. The Best pet friendly accommodation hands down!

We had the best weekend away here! Countrywide Cottages sits in a beautiful, peaceful, picturesque area. The cottages themselves I was pleasantly surprised by, renovated and modern while still giving off that quaint country vibe. They go the extra mile in how dog friendly they are. Secured fenced off large yards that even my two little escape artists couldn’t get out off. The grounds itself has a lovely walking track around the cottages and several other off leash area, we could have easily spent the whole weekend never leaving! If you do want to explore the surrounds though, there is lots of dog friendly places in the surrounding towns including good track walks and views of varying difficulty, and lovely eateries. Could have easily spent a whole week here and not run out of things to do. Can’t praise this place enough!

Wonderful location, very peaceful and a great spot to relax. Lots of beautiful bird life. Kids had great fun in the open spaces, games room and at the yabby dam. Doggy heaven as well.

We have just had a fabulous 5 days at Countrywide Cottages. It is a beautiful place and we had the privilege to stay in the Ferny Reach Cottage nestled amongst the Australian bush. Not only did we have an amazing stay so did our dogs. The bushwalking and surrounding areas were amazing to discover and we weren't limited at all because we decided to holiday with our dogs. Di and Stuart Wensure a seamless experience for all. Highly recommend hte experience

I cannot recommend this beautiful accomodation enough! The cottage was just amazing, clean and so comfortable with everything we needed to spend time away without having to pack everything. Beautiful linen, towels and comfy beds for us and treats, beds and bowls for our dear old dog. Its the perfect place for time out and resetting and we loved visiting Cookie and the sheep. We cant wait to return in the cooler months and make use of the wood burner. Di and Stu are such wonderful hosts, i wish we had discovered this place sooner.

I didn’t want to leave! I am already planning our next trip. The cottage was beautiful, clean and we had everything we needed. I have been searching for a truly dog friendly holiday property for some time, and I have finally found it! Our two dogs loved zooming around the large secure yard and exploring the local bush walks. Great location, great hosts, we loved it
