Coda reviews
89Amazing food! The whole experience from start to finish is great waitress is always so friendly and kind.
Coda is and has been a fav in Melb for years. Love the food, drinks and great helpful & polite staff. Have never taken to the remodel of a few years ago. But hey. Still good atmosphere.
Dishes were good/so-so. Mostly uninspiring and didn't justify the prices and the reputation of the earnt "Hat award". E.g Oysters $7ea were the smallest I've ever seen (bigger in photos) while the Tempura bug dish tasted like they simply use rice flour as batter with no seasonings or flavour at all. Very one toned.
Service felt rushed when taking orders and placing food on the table (sometimes a one second drop lol) We agree with other reviewers- we noticed one of the waitors were very judgemental and displayed more enthusiasm, acknowledgement and friendliness towards customers dressed in smart/formal than casual. Their judgement reflects the style of serving they provide. Sad to see really.
I did enjoy a few dishes but I won't remember them.
Excellent food, excellent service - a great night out. With so many restaurants to choose from in Melbourne it can be difficult to pick a good one. This is a great one - awesome for friends get togethers or a special occasion. Highly recommend.
Nice table clothes.also very pretty women, they know what is attractive there, nice skin etc, not always nice hair colour.but then again, no ones perfect.
Great service and even better food. We couldn't decide what to eat, so we asked them to 'feed us' - great decision
Went to Coda for a special occasion. Setting is nice and modern but I thought it was a bit too noisy. Service was good but not exceptional> They had some nice uncommon champagne on the menu which was a nice touch. Food was great.
Delicious food, creative menu and friendly staff. The crab and Balmain bug were amazing. See you next time we visit Melbourne!
40 mins waiting for the steak, and it was below the average. Order a coffee and never get it. But the cauliflower is tasty.
Super awesome food.a culinary treat! The head waiter really made dinner enjoyable by pairing local wines with some really tasty sea food dishes.
Service was incredibly bad. Fine dining prices for services standards that are worse than a fast food restaurant.
The food was good. Staff attentive and friendly but a little over priced for me and the dunny covered in urine lost them a star.
Fantastic restaurant we visited because of MasterChef Australia and worth every penny. The food was to die for.
Everything I tasted here was perfect.
I stole bites from everyone in my party, and ended up tasting all of the ordered things and to my surprise, everything was perfect!
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere, but I ended up with a migraine in the middle of the night after dining there. I think they must use a lot of msg, as msg triggers migraines in me.
Our very first time eating what might be called the best eastern cuisine food, although some of the Bao is very authentic to its Eastern roots. The wine list is very extensive and with a surprising range of French wines. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience which was enhanced by our lovely waitress who explained some of the finer points of the men
I had been wanting to try here for a long time and after eating here recently I can see why it's hung around and lasted the distance. What struck me was how packed with flavour everything we tried was, every dish really delivered! We went for dinner and got them to choose the food for us and I thought it was the right choice of dishes and right amount of food. It's probably a bit easier to give the rest as pros and cons. Pros: food obviously, interesting wine list, service from head waiter that looked after us and the fit out is sleek. Cons: very noisy space, desserts while enjoyable were not as strong as savouries and service from the sommelier was quite abrupt. Overall, highly recommend!
Nice decor, good service, but the food isn’t anything special. You could get similar tasting food for much less at a traditional restaurant.
Quality has dipped. Last visited 3 to 4years ago. Visited again last month, dishes arrived really salty. Ain't going back.
Longtime favourite for date nights. The service is awesome and staff is always super cool. We love sitting at the bar and talking through drinks with the bar tender. It seems it’s more mainstream now - we even saw a family eating there with two prams last time we went lol.it was early to be fair.
