Coda

The food was so delicious! Plus central location, great vibe and attentive friendly staff! The kingfish sashimi with ginger, spring onion and whipped tofu was the stand out followed by the dried scallop fried rice and roasted barramundi with roasted aromats. I had been here once before years ago and it stood true to memory - as delicious as I remembered. It was fully booked for a Monday night, we ended up enjoying dinner at the second seating. Make sure to book in advance so you don't miss out!

I am so surprised that “service” issue has been point out over than 4 years ago, but they did not do anything good at present.
We were seated by the bar, the lady (also as a bartender) was nice to us, thanks for that. Food was quite creative and tasty, we enjoyed everything we ordered. It supposed to be a nice dinning experience, however, at the end, I was shocked by the server’s attitude.
The man (perhaps one of the manager or investor or whatever) standing in front of us when we request for the bill. We “ excuse me” 3 times and he just walked away without looking at us, we even waved our hands and he just looked up to nowhere.
You might say maybe the music was loud, maybe he was busy on something else, but I can assure you that he heard us but just ignored! Because we were just 50cm close, it is not possible that he could not hear us. So we have to stop another waiter for the bill, then that rude guy just put the bill on our table right away! How ridiculous this was! He just put down the bill and walked away again, without asking if everything was ok or whatever. Come on, this is a $100+ pp restaurant, and you treat your customers like idiots.
We said “ thank you” for ever dish that has been served on our table, but our kindness did not get the respect back, shame on you.
Warm reminder for people who wants to dine in at Coda, if you are served by this guy (formal shirt, without apron or badge), remember to shout at his face when you need help, otherwise you are very likely to be ignored. Good luck.

We've eaten at Coda at least four times and the food is always great. However, our most recent meal was let down by a robotic waitress who didn't smile and was either stressed or unhappy - maybe both. One doesn't want a waiter to be overly-friendly but a bit of engagement helps!

First time Philippe diner with 2 interstate guests.at the end of the meal we all said that we would come back to Philippe again. HIGHLY recommend 10/5:)

Went here for our anniversary recently. Nice venue, lovely ambience and in a great location.
Food was average. Could see what they were trying to do, but I felt it was poor interpretation and execution. For the mains, we had the Barramundi and the steak and betal leaf (which I believe is influenced from the Vietnamese dish called "Bo La Lot"), but the dishes lacked the depth and flavors.

Overall, we were disappointed. Furthermore, on the way out - we were never asked how the experience was and whether the food was any good. Just paid the bill, and left - otherwise, I would of said something. Definitely not a 1 star experience. I would of rated it 2.5 stars, as I expected a bit more from a fine dining restaurant compared to the cost. So it wasn't a 3,4,5 star experience.

Incredible meal with 7 guests at Coda. Every dish was faultless which is rare in a set menu environment like we had. The service was impeccable and staff attentive. A very nice touch was that we had some visitors from Sydney and we were able to call ahead to the restaurant and organise some special bottles off their list to be put aside. Speaking of wine, what a great list! Good combo of top Australian wines with some great French ones mixed in too. I will be back. Delicious.

It was a last minute booking. I really didn’t know what to expect…
OMG! That was beautiful! I couldn’t fault anything.
We ordered some scallops, a kingfish sashimi and the barramundi. Everything was exceptional.
For dessert, we ordered a chocolate sphere with mango and passionfruit inside. Again, I didn’t really understand how the dessert was going to be when I read it on the menu: it was amazing!
Service was great too.

I had high expectation for this restaurant due to how far in advance I had to make the reservation. However, I felt that it is a bit overrated. The food was ok compare to other high end restaurant, the pork cutlets was very salty and the balance of the flavour of other dishes are a bit off. Also, the service was not up to standard, we sat in the corner and it was quite difficult to seek wait staff attention, and it seems like they were just there to serve food and nothing else so the service was minimal.

I took out most important clients here last night. Overall the experience was okay however is it was significantly soured by the very rude waiter who have us attitude as we left. Wont be returning. You know who you are.

You will always enjoy a beautiful balanced meal at Coda, we particularly enjoy the variety and the Asian fusion in some of the dishes

Coda is awesome! We've been to plenty of asian fusion restaurants and Coda is probably the best one. Every single dish was great, particularly their barramundi, bay bugs and pork belly skewer.

The restaurant is fitted out nicely. Staff are friendly and attentive. The food is excellent, with the only criticism being the tempura bay bug had a very fishy aftertaste. Overall would recommend and would return in the future.

Normally we had lunch & always enjoyed and it was 5 stars. Changed to a dinner today and seems entire atmosphere has changed.

Still one of my favourite restaurants and has a sentimental place but it has definitely lost a bit of its shine. Felt more like we were in a rowdy pub. Waitress was amazing though. Very attentive and wine suggestions were incredible. Food was cooked perfectly but a few of the dishes left us scratching our head as to whether we had actually eaten anything at all (ie.lamb ribs). Once our number 1 go-to place but with so many options these days will likely rethink our next visit. Sadly disappointed.

First visit to Coda. Thoroughly enjoyed an absolutely delicious, fun birthday dinner. Top notch food quality and unique flavours - the seafood dishes and Nashi pear pavlova were winners! Although we would have preferred a table we still enjoyed our dinner at the bar. Thank you to bartender Phillipe for the birthday cocktail!

Highly recommend Coda restaurant for the wonderful delicious food great wine selection and friendly wait staff. Must go, nice atmosphere as well.

Food was great! But customer service was so appalling! So difficult to get attention to order food, didn't even ask how the dining was when making the payment. Just didn't feel friendly atmosphere at all! No one said thank you or said goodbye when we were leaving. Well at least we did

It's been awhile since our visit to Coda and had a fabulous birthday lunch here. The seafood dishes were delicious and refreshing, the pork skewers was large enough to share, in comparison, the lamb cutlet was a bit small for $12. Got a candle on the dessert as well for my birthday.

I had a Javanese curry and it was good, I went there expecting something spectacular
