Cobblers of South Yarra

Awful. Charged me 25 bucks to fix a stitch on a backpack strap and got a wonky bit of sewing machine for the price. No customer service either.not that it would have mattered.
Update after below reply: actually I am the husband, and the rudeness of the reply speaks volumes.

As a regular customer for many years i am very happy with the craftsmanship and quality of their work.

Exceptional service and the best place to have your designer shoes repaired to perfection. Eugene is a welcoming and funny. Definitely will be back. Thanks you.

The only cobbler I trust with my shoes! Eugene is not only very professional and the quality of his work is outstanding, he brightens my day every time I pop in! He has kept some of my favourite shoes alive for years! I would recommend him to all my friends! Thank you Eugene!

The only place I would take my Gianvito Rossi’s to! Took them in and had them fixed in a jiffy. Very professional service. In addition, Eugene not only gives on the spot advice, but advises about ongoing care of my precious shoes. 10 stars if I could!

I have had 3 pairs of shoes repaired here, though I usually go to reputable cobblers in Toorak, Armadale or the CBD. The last pair I had repaired here was my favourite pair of French loafers that I purchased for $1500 last year. Unfortunately I can no longer wear them due to what I believe to be poor quality workmanship. He is very expensive - double what one would pay elsewhere - but this appears to be reflective of his shop lease fees rather than quality. After my experience, reading the negative customer reviews & his abusive replies, I will not be returning. I only referred one customer to him because they specifically wanted a cobbler in South Yarra (and he was the only one I knew of) but I won't be referring anyone else.

As mentioned, I have three superb cobblers who charge half the price & are recommended by every shoe store from Lonchamp, Chanel, Miss Louise to Dolce Firmè & Scanlan. I'm very glad to hear that I am not on your 'system'. Whilst you choose to live in denial that you ruined my $1500 loafers, I unfortunately do not. Funnily enough, you pleased my family who were sick of seeing me wear them.

DO NOT GO HERE! I was waiting my turn while one of the owners was yelling at an older woman who was before me waiting to be helped. The dirty looking owner wouldn't get off the phone while she was patiently waiting for help and after 5 minutes of waiting she finally asked if she could get assisted and the disgusting fat-slob owner called her a ugly c*** and that he was taking a call and she could leave if she wanted. I walked out directly after her. This woman was visibly shaking. Whatever you do not go to these lowlifes - they deserve to be closed down. Their service sucks and they don't do a good job of shoes.

The best cobbler I've dealt with in my life. Looks after my shoes better than anybody else! Thank you!

Shoes, boots, sandals - I've had so many things fixed and re-crafted at Cobblers of South Yarra. Only top quality materials are used for new soles and heels and they always come back looking like new! Today I picked up some favourite boots that I have not been able to wear for years. With some wonderful remodelling, a refresh of the colour and a new heel, I have fallen back in love with these boots and can't wait to wear them with everything. Another pair was dyed from brown to the most beautiful dark steely blue with a stunning red lining - they look incredible too. I have been taking all of my shoes to Cobblers of South Yarra for years now. I won't go anywhere else - you can't get that incredible quality craftsmanship and professionalism elsewhere!

Legitimately the rudest person I have ever spoken to in my life (and that was just over the phone). Would also definitely give zero stars if this site allowed it.

Have spread the word to friends and family to never go to this store, how this business even runs astounds me.

Phoned Cobblers for opening hours. Got the rudest response ever ("I answered the phone, didn't I! What you want! ").
Went to someone else - who wouldn't'? !
Would rate with zero stars if possible.

If you want divine Russian hand made craftsmanship. Eugene is your man! European style, passion and knowledge of the best shoe craftsman in the world is here to find! This man can repair Louis Vuitton, Louboutins, Blahniks bags and shoe fashion.
And as we know. Good fine work is never rushed. Stay and learn from a master of a dying craft.

Extremely RUDE, hang up as I asked for price. There are plenty of other good shoe places out there.

Would not recommend this cobbler. Very rude. I had a bag being fixed, and It had been about 2 weeks since I received a phone call that the bag was fixed, to a text message from the owner stating if I didn't collect it that weekend he would throw it out. This was all very difficult considering I was away and not in Melbourne. I ended up having to call him back and ask that he didn't throw it out until the following week to hear him say " I am not your storage facility".

I can also see he has been quite rude to customers from reading the reviews below.
