Classic Cinemas reviews
45Great cinema. Good chance of finding free parking. Very good selection of arthouse films. Plenty of specials events like Q&A with directors, film festivals and rooftop cinema (weather permitting). Nice foyer and outdoors sitting. Good coffee and plenty of eateries in close proximity. Highly recommended!
Great customer service and covid precautions. Thoroughly enjoyed the movie in a comfy seat with a good coffee
The new rooftop is amazing, nice drinks and super nice view of Elsternwick and the bay.
Their idea of distributing headphones instead of open sound is also an interesting way of giving a nice experience without messing up with the neighbours!
Rooftop Bar for a drink! Awesome view but chilly tonight but just haopy to be out again and for the Classic to be open!
Loved the vintage vibes, the lovely old pictures on the wall of back forye are telling you the history of classic cinemas.
The future for big screen comfortable presentable and welcoming looks assured esp with choc/raspberry ice cream the stand-alone guilty pleasure. Yum.
Enjoyed the venue considerably - looking forward to the next movie there, and trying the enticing eatery next door.
I really love this place! Great movies, great gig venue, friendly staff. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
I live near here so go quite often. Everything is fabulous. Great staff and food. Especially the toasties. But the only problem I have is the ballrooms. They don't fit in with rest of the theater. Who paints a bathroom black? They are dingy and grungy and generally always dirty. They need to be redone!
One of my favourite places to go, has the old world charm Architecture and warmth very cosy. Great films a great place to go.
A real local joint. Very nice local cinema but shows both the block busters and the more arty fringe movies. Lots of character and like the cinemas of old. Not like those huge caverns of hell; the huge suburban multiplexs with thousands of people. Great place for mates or dates. This place has a nice seating areas in the lobby, a bar, cafe and good coffee. With a Hungarian restaurant next door. What more do you want.
Comfortable, cheap tuesdays. Friendly staff although they could be ready and set up more than 15 mins before the frost screening. Seems disorganised. Popcorn is way too salty. Cinema a bit too cold
Sister to the Lido in Hawthorn, great mix of popular and arthouse movies, very good food and drinks. Shares with the Lido the best toasties i have had in 60 years (the ones with basil pesto)
Easily accessible by Walker. Has lifts and tickets for wheelchair access is always possible. Just make sure to call before hand to ensure.
My local movie theatre. Best independent cinema in Melbourne. Excellent selection of movie snacks in addition to a well stocked bar.
Excellent classic cinema, comfortable seats. Very friendly staff and great selection of snacks and beverages
Beautiful old cinema but with the mod cons good selection of movies and food, excellent service and comfortable roomy leather seats.
Nice old place with OK service. Though we stood at the kiosk, for online tickets, for 5 mins with numerous staff walking past us, only to give up and go join the line for regular ticket purchases. Would go again but be more selective with how we approach things.
Been there 2ce to watch movies and every time it was perfect. Always recommend.
They recently stopped the student discount, which disappoints me.
