Always good to get out and Classic Cinemas never fails. The staff and the theatre quality is amazing. I cannot recommend Classic highly enough.

Who doesn't love the Classic?
Great selection of blockbusters, arthouse, and classics (very on-brand). Compared to some of the behemoth cinema chains, the Classic has very reasonable pricing for both tickets and candy bar items, as well as good membership perks. Also nice to see a wide range of quality bevs and snacks too. My only issue is that parking can be a bit of a pain during busy periods, but there isn't really anything that can be done about that.

Overall, I highly recommend choosing the Classic, for your next cinema-outing, and supporting a small business in an industry that has really struggled over the past year and a half. The Classic is an excellent choice for the average movie goer as well as die-hard cinefiles.

Nice cinema. Big bar in the foyer, friendly usher, cosy seating, quality AV equipment and an enjoyable experience all round.

I have been going to this cinema since I was in primary school but no longer go here regularly.
But I went to see The Sparks Brother doc last Sunday as it was showing in a handful of cinemas. There were three other people in the cinema, despite the warnings all three kept their masks off for the entire 3hr film despite current regulations and signs posted everywhere including before the trailers. We only knew they didn't put them back on was afterwards leaving, only then they put them on. My essential worker mother and I kept our masks on the entire time, even moving farther away in the empty cinema. Disgusting lack of respect for others and I hope they were only clearing their throats when they coughed.

Film was lovely but recently other cinema goers haven't been. Will continue to go to cheaper alternatives unless the off chance like here where there were none.

Every time I go to this cinema it’s too cold in the auditorium. So fed up with having to come out the film and tell them.

Been coming here for years & now they’ve introduced wonderful retrospectives I’m becoming even more regular - Hitchcock, Coen brothers, Almodovar, Melville, David Lynch all having current retros, brilliant. Has a mix of the supermarket cookie cutter chain rubbish too if that’s your fare. Great snack selection - although one day I’m opening a cinema where snacks in the cinema itself are banned, annoying rustling chompers!

Cinema was good. Parking was a nightmare. Received an infringement notice with a fine. So not fair as it was my first time visit.

Great cinema with Festivals, first run films, classic films and just films you don't find elsewhere. They have a rooftop, run late evening movies, have great snack and drinks on offer. This is what cinema used to be like and should be more of today. Highly recommended.

A good place to take kids for holiday movies. Peter Rabbit 2 was tolerable, and kept the great niece and great nephew amused for a couple of hours.

Cinema is wonderful. Smaller than your usual cinema but still large enough to hold a number of different sized cinemas. My favourite is number 2, a small, relaxing and comfy cinema. Just like feeling you're at home watching movies. Popcorn has always been fresh and tasty. Great value.

Stunning authentic cinema experience worth getting off the couch to do it old school. Great service, Emily who is the supervisor there is amazing! Knows her wine and super friendly.

Just a great place showing great films. Pricing is good.but what's best is that they cater for Kosher consumers with the great popcorn and ice creams. Very appreciative of this. Thank you!

Foyer too small, too many stairs, couldn't get through people to exit the complex (no consideration for my low vision friend from the rude people).
Cinema itself was good, comfortable seats and good screen.

A real local joint. Very nice local cinema but shows both the block busters and the more arty fringe movies. Lots of character and like the cinemas of old. Not like those huge caverns of hell; the huge suburban multiplexs with thousands of people. Great place for mates or dates. This place has a nice seating areas in the lobby, a bar, cafe and good coffee.
Take care with parking; it is inner city and there ARE permit restrictions in many surrounding streets. Don’t ignore the signs at your own peril and your wallets.

My fave cinema in Melbourne (so far) that offers v good ticket prices to its members. Great atmosphere and a very strong selection of quality movies. The chairs are comfy and the cinemas kept cool. Plus, the area (Elsternwick) is great to grab a bite afterwards. The snacks are expensive as hell but what are you going to do.

The Classic Cinemas is a venue to visit time and time again, with relevant and thought-provoking films that take the viewer to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and beyond- as in the case of JIFF- to mid 20th-century Italy- as in the fantastic Fellini Retrospective that pays tribute to the great Italian filmmaker- while at the same time in another movie theatre Hitchcock is hailed as the master of suspense par excellence and 007 is chasing away in another; all to the delight and enlightenment of viewers who see the link between past, present and future. Great cinema that goes the extra mile with films that engage, provoke and matter. / Dr Jytte Holmqvist

Great rooftop cinema and bar area. You can hire blankets if its a bit nippy. The film sound is transmitted via headphones so its actually even more immersing than surround sound cinemas

Great quality cinema with lots to do and even a rooftop bar and outside cinema. They are great at hosting events and even for your birthday. One of their even hosting options is to book a cinema entirely for playing video games. The cinema is quite quiet at most times and reaches its peak in the holidays. I would highly recommend going here.
