Disgracefully arrogant company who are knowingly refusing service & entry to vulnerable members of our community because they are unable to wear face masks and have lawful exemptions. Jessica Grech tells me the chemists are private property and they are lawfully allowed to refuse entry which is simply not true.

Chemist Warehouse is in breach of the EO Act (2010) wherein it states
in Division 4, Section 44:

"Discrimination in the provision of goods and services

(1) A person must not discriminate against another person—

(a) by refusing to provide goods or services to the other person; or
(b) in the terms on which goods or services are provided to the other person; or
(c) by subjecting the other person to any other detriment in connection with the provision of goods or services to him or her.

Click and Collect does not cut it. Chemist Warehouse needs to service vulnerable members of our community the same as people who are in masks.

It's very disappointing a big franchise like this can be so discriminatory and defend that practice under the guise of employee safety. I suggest it is more about making huge profits from promoting and forcing people to wear masks even when they are medically exempt.

I have a retail business with employees, so with the introduction to new mandatory Mask wearing regulations in our State, I ventured out to the Maidstone store of Chemist Warehouse (only three days ago) and after being assured by the shop assistant that there is an abundance of stock available in their store and more would be arriving, I was comfortable enough to purchase 20 boxes of disposable masks which would last one month or so without feeling like one of those over zealous shop hoarders. Unfortunately, my business partner purchased better quality fabric masks that the staff are more comfortable wearing. They are not comfortable wearing the Wuhan made Masks sold by Chemist Warehouse. So after contacting both the Maidstone store and Head Office to see if I could return the UNOPENED AND SEALED packages for a refund or credit, I was horrifically abused and whilst I was desperately trying to explain myself, I was abruptly hung up on by both communication levels. I was even told by the person I was speaking to from Head Office that I said that Chemist Warehouse sells infected products, which I vehemently refute. In fact, I honestly felt as though I was speaking to someone that was listening to a completely different phone call and I was on a crossed over call. I did not know that their Change of Mind Return Policy had been changed in recent times, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, because I had returned goods prior to this event. So whilst I was surprised that the returns policy of such a large organisation had changed, I certainly do understand. I was told that I could be spreading the virus to them if I return the items, but anyone at all can pick up items in the store and put them back on the shelf. However, their motivation is nothing more than pure disgraceful greed because they were not prepared to allow my returning the products even though they were completely still in their original state and completely sealed, but Chemist Warehouse, Maidstone, had broken their "rule" of selling 20 boxes to me instead of the 10 box limit. In saying all this, what I want to make abundantly clear is that this is not a review based on now having lost $881 for the cost of the masks. This is about the fact that under no circumstances and especially during this time where people are struggling not only financially but emotionally and mentally, should anyone be treated so terribly and be abused in such a manner. Maher from Maidstone store and (I think the person's name was "Bec") Head Office should be ashamed. Avoid shopping at Chemist Warehouse stores, in particular Maidstone and don't bother looking for help from Head Office as their RUDE and DISGUSTING customer service is worse.

They do not answer calls, if they do they re-direct your query and then the call doesn't get answered. E-mails sent via their web site are also not answered! Extremely poor customer service. I will be escalating this matter further.

Called to leave a complaint regarding a particular branch. Receptionist was attentive and listened to my grievances re the branch. She did offer to help me, however the store (epping high street) was not forthcoming and i was told each branch is its own franchise/owner and ultimately its their rules/decisions. I appreciated her efforts.i will add though that there needs to be a better way to leave a complaint as my emails were also ignored.
It maybe a "franchisee" but theyre tarnishing the name as a whole!

Horrible customer service. I called to lodge a complaint about the unacceptably unprofessional and rude staff conduct at the Karingal store as well as the misleading item prices on the shelf with TWO different RRPs in that store. The store owner/manager is not accessible to the public (surprise, surprise) and the manager of customer service I spoke to on the phone clearly doesn't understand the concept of "customer service", pushing back on everything I said and demonstrating very little knowledge of what's going on in the store. A VERY BAD experience. It looks like the retail success has gone into the heads of the management and staff who feel entitled to being rude to customers as they please.

Very poor experience. Didnot fill all I asked and also lost one of my scripts. Left my script and when I returned to pick it up no one seemed to bother about how long customers stood and waited

I am an Australian army veteran, I was short 10 tablets,? So I was supposed to receive a call from your pharmacy [K. Flat 3555], still waiting, this is incompetent and unacceptable, I will be in touch with the ombudsman and some MP's I know, so get on with it.

What an absolutely disgraceful experience dealing with the head office "customer support" department. Firstly I was fobbed off at store level (Lilydale) with a Braun product that was certainly not fit for purpose. Then treated like an idiot by a script reading robot that had absolutely no care in trying to assist me. Long time customer lost.

Disgusting customer service. They refused to refund or exchange unopened products - which were bought based on the recommendation of the sales staff but were actually not safe for my wife to take. They said the returns policy is on the receipt - but that means you have to buy the goods in order to read the policy which says you cannot return them! They want your money but refuse to offer any service - they told me they did not want to be out of pocket as they would not be able to resell the product - but couldn't care less that I am out of pocket! They have zero care factor for their customers.

Today I went into chemist warehouse in Balaclava. You think you would be able to shop safely in a chemist that is manned with a security guard, however I have never felt so UNsafe in any shopping experience.

A patron and myself were approached by another patron who abused us for buying makeup.when I told security about it he simply left the abrupt man on his own to then approach me again when I was by my self with no one to help me.and then again security did nothing allowing the man to approach me a third time!

I was left alone, with no clear exit to choose from and leave the store safely.so I walked up the the checkout to ask for a manager.the response. "she's at lunch"

I put it in plain terms I would like assistance to leave the store and they took me to the back of the store!

After then finally getting my point accross that I did not feel safe, they let me walk by my self through the store to exit.

Thanks chemist warehouse, to leaving a young woman on her own whilst being abused by one of your customers for buying your product.

In all seriousness, your staff need training regarding the management of aggressive customers and perhaps not leaving them to unnecessarily attack your patrons. For security to simply leave him on several occasions to abuse female customers is not acceptable.

Will I, a once loyal customer, ever return to your stores? NO
