Cervo reviews
63There were 7 of us on a busy holiday period and we were accommodated quickly. The food was delicious! The Margharita Pizza was sooo good! The pizza dough was like butter and a fluffy cloud in your mouth! We are already trying to figure out when to come back!
Passed by many times, the weather is fine today, it is the first time to eat inside, the waiters are friendly and professional, and the food tastes great. Especially sitting by the Yarra River, basking in the sun and eating delicious food, it is very pleasant.
Poor set up, the food gave all my guests, including myself an upset stomach.the cabonara had two shaved pieces of bacon and no seasoning. I had to make eye contact with the waitress a few times to get a menu. Not worth the price.
Nice Italian style restaurant, pleasant athmosphere. Excellent friendly service and good food.
Had a great time here. Accommodated on a busy Saturday night and given warm and professional service (Doriana). Food was great. Will return.
Limited options on the menu quality average seating layout very odd and confined.
Service was slow
Very expensive for the quality of food. The staff and drinks were great but was really let down by the spaghetti bolognese and carbonara. Could’ve made it better at home, definitely better Italian places in the area.
The food here has gone down hill. Probably one of the worst steaks I have ever had. Over $50 for eye fillet that was tough, chewy and tasteless. Below average food at 5 star prices, I would avoid this place like the plague.
After finally being seated at 6: 20pm at the front of bar where they place food on the bar to be taken out, I was shocked to see chefs and waiters moving hot chips, meat balls and food with there bare hands.my husband and I whom both work in the food industry couldn't believe it. The health department would have a field day here. I noticed alot of the staff barely knew what areas or tables or jobs they should be doing and looked like headless chickens running around (management should allocate areas or sections for staff). I saw at one stage over 19 plates of food waiting to be run.yet saw 6 waitresses walk pass it. I watched my pasta and steak just 1meter from our table for 11 minutes before being served to us.after having my partners potatoes being touched twice by random chef hands.please buy gloves or hire more staff.another table behind us waited 18 minutes for 2 beers.being in the industry this was a joke and I commented to a staff about it.whom didn't seem to care or apologise. Don't bother coming here. I would have spoken to management or owner if they asked us how our meal or service was but nothing but the bill was flicked to us.
Booked for two on NYE and we had a very poor experience. The food was average, I.e the wygue was hard as a rock, who was the chef on the night! The glass of wine I ordered came after I finished my meal. I didn’t have a chance to order coffee, our account was thrown to the table without the waitress asking if we were done. Disgusting experience!
Out of my many visits to Italian restaurants, this one was a moderate visit. We tried Aglio Olio Pasta (v), Spaghetti Bolognese 1999 and chicken schnitzel from the kids meal. The price is a bit on the higher side compared to the quantity of the food. But definitely the quality and taste was very authentic.
If you are around the Crown then you can definitely try this place for Italian food.
The food is nice for the price but just be careful if you sit inside. They have partitions separating the tables and they aren't very sturdy. One little bump and they fall over.
We ate there the waitress was cleaning the table while we're still on table and cruise were going on our jeans
My inlaws took me n my wife out for our 2nd year anniversary, I ordered Fish of the day (barra) and beer battered chips and my Wife ordered Muscles. One word PERFECTION. Will be back?
Don't listen to the hype. Yes, this restaurant is in a great location. I also found the employees attentive and kind, but the food was very disappointing. The calamari was overcooked and overseasoned, the pizza was tough to eat. Literally, the base was so hard that we couldn't eat the crust at all. And the barramundi was mushy. Overall, an underwhelming experience and definitely not worth the $$. I won't be back.
Had an enjoyable dinner here.
Arancini balls were delicious, and so were the mains. Staff were lovely and found us a table to eat at despite our lack of a booking. Beautiful location.
Just flew in with my wife from Sydney to meet with our friend in Melbourne who suggested Cervo as a friendly place to casually dine however we were immediately proven wrong and I will highly recommend anyone who wishes to dine there to be mindful and please read my detailed review.
The issue is not the food, as we didn't have an opportunity to try, it's the one rude server (or bouncer I'm not sure)
Our friend booked dinner for 6: 30 for 3 people on Tuesday for Friday dinner, once we arrived we were rightly stopped at the front door to both check in and provide our covid digital certificates to confirm we are double vaxxed and log our attendance, for those coming in from Sydney you cannot use Service NSW to check in however you can provide your digital certificate which is only available for fully vaxxed people, this larger behemoth brunette lady who stopped us said she didn't validate the NSW vaccination certificate and requested Medicare versions so she can confirm time and date the jabs went in to allow us to dine, my wife who has 2 factor authentication left her 2nd phone back in Sydney assuming a digital certificate would suffice was unable to login to Medicare, we were also unable to call as they closed at 5pm and the large covid Marshall lady declined the entry.
Not only was she rude and treated interstate visitors as 2nd class citizens, she actually was unable to find the booking which led us to believe she made the scene as no tables could be offered, it's easier to be honest than to give people a hard time.
Funny thing is, as we were anxiously trying to contact Medicare and myGov anyway, we literally witnessed 3 other couples walk in without a single confirmation or being stopped to produce the amount of information we were asked for? Honestly that's just plain rude
Would I recommend anyone to dine at Cervo? Definitely not, and good luck getting in if you have Dorothy at the front door bouldering you back out
And if any staff or management at Cervo do read this, I'd suggest you read the service NSW covid digital certificate qualifications before you assume that we are any less entitled
Wow, what an experience, never again
Low quality overpriced food. The owners of that joint need some tutoring in management and customer service.
The service was excellent and extremely friendly.
They helped me to celebrate my son's 18th Birthday Celebration.
Thankyou for such a wonderful occasion.
Highly recommended xx
Ordered the meatballs with ciabatta bread. Got a small bowl of undercooked mush! Could barely eat it, tasted awful. Ridiculous for the price!
