Carousel Café

Loved it, excellent platters, tasty cocktails, friendly staff and fantastic views of the city. I highly recommend it.
Hint: carry a picnic blanket and enjoy the chillout session by park outside the restaurant. They have DJ playing, access to the bar and canopies set-up. It's the perfect summer vibe.

Carousel have been helpful and have allowed us to pencil in a postponement date incase our January wedding date cannot go ahead/ we don't want it to go ahead under any government restriction there may be. They have been understanding that I needed to get this underway now, to be able to to contact my other suppliers as soon as possible for a better chance that they too will be available on our postponement date and have not asked for any other deposits or payments.
They have always called back with any enquiries I have had and have made an extremely stressful situation a little less stressful knowing we are able to shift to a postponement at no extra charge once our date is under restrictions. I cannot wait to have my dream day at this amazing venue!

An excellent cafe on the edge of Albert Park Lake; excellent atmosphere and food; plus very friendly/helpful staff; and stunning views of the Melbourne CBD at evening sunsets.

Horrible and unsympathetic treatment from the Food & Desire team.

Due to have our wedding reception at Carousel in May however decided in early March that we needed to postpone due to COVID-19. Food & Desire would not allow us to postpone without losing all monies already paid. When the federal and state governments put in place restrictions on indoor gatherings, Food & Desire once again refused to let us postpone without losing all monies already paid as our reception was after the initial restriction end date of mid-April.

Food & Desire only offered the option to postpone when it became clear the COVID-19 situation was worsening. By this stage we were appalled at their uncompassionate and unhelpful behaviour. We decided we no longer wanted to have our reception at Carousel as Food & Desire have ruined the happiness of the wedding planning process.

Food & Desire are not returning all monies as they claim to have provided "event coordination and marketing". Their behaviour and correspondence has been purely money hungry and shows they do not care about their customers.

Once again, Food & Desire's treatment of their customers is disgusting and heartless. Do not book at any of their venues including Carousel, Aerial, Half Acre, and Harbour Room.

I have had the pleasure of providing with our photobooth services at this venue on many occasions. This venue offers a modern flair to your event with waterfront views. The staffing, food, beverages and the venue has impressed us each and every visit. We look forward to attending this venue in the future!

V good. Lakeside cafe with unobstructed views of the city. Perfect for a coffee outside in the sun. Don your active wear and do a pre-brunch lap of the lake if you’re game. Muffins are a treat. Swans’ on view. If you time your brunch right you might even catch sight of a bevy of cygnets.

Went here for a friend's wedding. The atrium is simple but nice. Good selection of canapes (incl. Oysters) and the seating is also pretty elegant.

You can't beat the view here. The food & coffee were decent but took a long time, however it was a Sunday afternoon. You're meant to wait to be seated but nobody acknowledged my groups presence so we waited patiently then eventually had to grab the servers attention who just told us to sit wherever? Be mindful of wait times.

Nice relaxed cafe with beautiful views over the lake. We had the waffles which were delicious! And the staff were really friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back again:)

AMAZING VIEWS of the city skyline. It can get quite busy but if you come in early or during the week you should be fine. Great typical Aussie dishes, Good selection of Vegetarian dishes.

Great venue, nice lake side views, accessible, make sure to take your ticket from the parking machine.

Was here for a wedding reception. Fits 400 people. Really nice view of the lake and city skyline. Food was tasty.

Very rude staff. We were waiting to grab a seat for 30 mins. After funding a table, once we finish with the coffee, one of the staff came to us saying her manger wants us to leave the place asap as there are people waiting outside, Such a terrible customer service!

Was there for a wedding and it was a beautiful venue inside and out! Great place for family photos out on the balcony too! From the inside the massive windows allowed guests to see out to the city line at night while staying warm. Nice spaces for runners to go past without disrupting photos or the atmosphere.

Fancy place, service was a little rattled, think they need to really do something to look after their staff, boost the morale and have some fun.

I would highly recommend "Carousel Café" to anyone who loves to have lunch at a beautiful place.staff are friendly and very attentive. The ambience of the restaurant is very clean, well-spaced out and well presented. We found it to be a great experience for me and my friends.
