Carlton Gardens reviews
73Visiting Melbourne Museum to see Titanic Exhibition, which was very good. Gardens were beautiful with large numbers of families enjoying a beautiful day
Stunning park and heritage building. Visited on the way to the Museum. It was raining heavily but didn't manage to dampen the mood!
I get down at the tram stop nearby and walk to my workplace via Carlton Gardens. I've walked to this place during various times in a day. It is a great place to have a little personal time in the middle of the day, to just take a break from work, have lunch, play with your kids, take your dog out for a walk, jog and exercise, or to walk and talk with your romantic partner, and for barbeques and get-togethers with friends. There are no good restaurants or coffee shops nearby so make sure to bring those if you want to spend time here. On weekends, you'll also find professional skateboarders and dancers practicing their art nearby (IMAX pavement), so you get to see wonderful performances from talented people for free! And walk back home daydreaming yourself in their shoes.
Beautiful gardens at the city fringe looking their best at present. A quiet, meditative space for relaxing under the established trees and extensive gardens which abound.
Bonus: adjacent to the magnificent Exhibition Building and the Melbourne Museum
Perfect for families and children. Lots of space to run off that unrelenting energy!
Beautiful garden in between Fitzroy, Carlton, and the city. Perfect place for a walk with a coffee. Beautiful all seasons.
Beautiful gardens, well worth a visit when you’re in Melbourne. Lovely to wander around and look at the Exhibition Building and Museum of Melbourne, both of which are individually architecturally interesting buildings. The gardens themselves are lovely too and a surprising gem in the city.
Never taken an opportunity to explore the gardens and grounds until now. Truly peaceful, beautiful and makes you feel as though you've stepped back into history.
Just beautiful! No bikes allowed which is annoying because it's a big park and takes a while to walk around. It's always well kept. Take your antihistamines before entering
It's a good place to "kill time" when waiting for family who are attending outpatients at the nearby St Vincents Hospital.
Absolutely amazing park for single visits with a book or a picnic date. Stunning green grass and large trees - sometimes I forget I'm still in the city.
Wide open spaces with beautiful gardens. Magnificent established trees. Room for everyone to enjoy a picnic. Bring your skates or board.
Such a gorgeous garden located in the CBD. Buildings, fountain and just the layout really reminded me of Paris!
Beautiful. Nothing better than smoking some grass on a sunny day next to a building as unique and beautiful as the exhibition building in a park as lovely as this one.
Beautiful part of Melbourne right in the heart of Melbourne giving you access to Melbourne Museum
Beautiful clean open garden.
Beautiful fountain and an abundance of large trees providing shade.
Awesome gardens for our wedding shoots. And thanks to RSV Limos for their incredible stretch limos and service.
Beautiful park with the lovely exhibition building to look at. Plenty of shade on a hot summer's day.
Beautiful park, less busy than the Botanical Gardens in the city. The Conversatory is lovely & not to be missed. It just needs classical music in there then l'd give it a 5:)
I don't know what it is about this place that keeps me coming back. I don't feel it's just the amazing scenery, especially in the afternoons around sunset. Maybe it's a deeper appreciation for Carlton, itself and the Gardens contribute to it. Maybe it's the memories i'm attempting to re-live. Or the peace I feel of being there. Whatever it is.don't be surprised if you see me there.
Have a lovey day <3
A place where all you're dreams can come true, whether you want to run, skate, dance, do martial arts or just have a picnic while painting and look at the wildlife this place is immaculate.
