Carlos Cantina - Boronia

I took my wife out for her birthday and had a great experience. Big menu, lots of choice, good prices and quality service. It’s my new go-to Mexican restaurant.

My partner and I came in tonight for dinner. It was peacefully quiet and were severed by a young girl, who was amazing. The food and service was fast and tasty. I would recommend this place and will be coming back in the future.

First time ever coming here

I had excellent customer service from the owner of Carlos Cantina this evening. I made an order through Menulog, which due to no fault of the restaurant, the driver took half an hour to deliver our food after it was picked up by the driver. The food arrived near cold and crushed due to the driver having multiple deliveries stacked on it.
I rang the restaurant and the owner apologised and said that he had no control over the Menulog drivers and other meals they may collect from other restaurants which impact the delivery time of his orders.
As he could not offer a refund due to being ordered through Menulog, he offered to have one of his own drivers re-deliver it. 20 minutes later, the food arrived hot and fresh as it has when we previously have ordered from here. We will order directly through their website next time so that we know that the food will arrive on time and to their high standard. I recommend using Carlos's own website rather than Menulog so you don't get cold food and it also saves Carlos paying Menulog a commission for providing an inferior service. Thanks for the great service Carlos, we have always enjoyed your quality of service and great food and we will happily recommend and buy from you again!

Quick service in this period of covid staff shortages. Been to some places where we've waited an hour for the food to arrive - we had finished our meals inside an hour here

Food was great and very tasty some portions were generous others a bit light on seating was cramped and took away from the experience but worth a look if you enjoy your Mexican and their margaritas selection is vast

Its always a good feed. Half price nights just make it cheaper.
I've eaten here hundreds of times and never had a bad meal.

Randomly pick a Mexican place by following the reviews and this a great pick! Food will take awhile to get to you but it’s very filling and worth to share. A main can feed 2 people ;)

I love this place. After my beloved Pies won on Sunday I was feeling hungry so I ordered a chicken burrito with churros via uber when I was still in my taxi. I got a call from them to make sure my order was correct. It arrived fresh, tasty, perfectly packaged and with cutlery. The churros were still nice and warm. They also stock Jarritos mexixan soda which is so nice. I love the cola flavour. Next time I'll order the Mexican punch. Muchos Gracias.

Food is always good. I think I reviewed this place years ago, but can’t recall. Still good regardless. When there are lots of people it can be as loud as a busy pub, so get your big person voice out! Just about to try the Tequila Sunrise Margarita… pretty good. Very sweet, I’m good with that. You can decide if that’s your kind of thing.

The staff are really helpful and polite but the food is clearly defrosted then finished off in the oven, made painfully obvious from the puddle of greasy water on the bottom of my plate.

Guacamole is not worth the $5 for the tablespoon of what seemed like over salted supermarket dip with a small quantity of fresh avocado blended in for texture.

Pop over to Woolies and grab something out of the freezer there- it'll be less expensive.

Love this place, definitely a go to spot for a good feed. The staff are so lovely and patient. The food is so yummy definitely recommend everyone to try this place!

We had a large group booking for an early dinner. There was some trouble with our orders, some of our group didn't receive their food until well after the rest of the table had gotten theirs. The service was subpar, the staff were young and had communication issues (hence our late food). I am a returning customer to this restaurant and genuinely like the food but these issues need to be addressed by management.

What a joy to pop in to a place you’ve eying off for months and discover it was worth the wait.

Lovely quick meal on a Monday public holiday. My best boy selected an entree and a main, both beef (super proud) and that was perfect for the two of us.

Super friendly staff, delicious (and ample) food.

Lovely friendly place with a caring knowledgable staff. The Tex-Mex food is really good and the drinks menu extensive. We came for a birthday party and had an excellent and super fun time. Also the views of Mt. Dandenong at sunset were fantastic. Nothing nicer than sitting outside on a warm March night and enjoying everything this great little Latino eatery has to offer. Reccomended!

Absolutely fantastic Mexican food. I've ordered probably 15-20 times both takeaway and sit in here and usually get the beef enchilada Enorme Mexico and every time it is consistently very tasty and massive portions. Price is very much the same as every other Mexican restaurant around. Great service when I've sat in so not much to fault. If you are around the Boronia area and like Mexican food, you must try it.
