Captains of Industry reviews
50Some of the most delicious coffee in Melbourne. Cool old school space with really lovely staff. One of my favourite spots in city.
Found a piece of hair in my steak sandwich. When I brought it up to the waiter, he just gave me a weird look, no apologies or anything and just asked if I wanted a refund. Poor customer service.
Mushroom on toast (forgot the menu) was really good. Not even a fan of mushrooms, their house made sauce sealed the deal. I'll be coming back for sure, trying the coffee too next.
Good food but not good for groups. They refuse to split bills even though they tally everything by hand (which takes ages anyway). If they have to add everything up by hand I don't understand what difference it makes to simply allow people to pay for their own items? It's just rude and difficult for no benefit.
A cafe that is a barber, or a barber that is also a cafe. Yeah, only in Melbourne, but still, pretty awesome.
Took 20 mins to take our order. Another 30 mins for the coffees to arrive, 45 mins for the food.
Food was nice, but I wouldn't say it was worth the wait.
A really cool place close to my home. It was quite hidden but the name really fits the atmosphere inside. If you like to take photos for Instagram, you'll like this place.
I agree with one of the reviewers here that they should put a sign whether customers need to sit down straight away or wait for the staff to attend them. We were waiting for a while and the staff were busy with customers and making coffee so we decided to just pick our seats.
We ordered the triple cheese sandwich and pulled pork burgers. They were really good and full of flavours. The room is a bit dark but it felt really relaxing somehow. Sit next to the window if you can so you'll get the view of Elizabeth St while enjoying your foods.
The pork knuckle sandwich, which actually looks like a burger, is wonderful! The service is very caring
Love this place! Great coffee, delicious food and a great atmosphere. The team are super lovely. Captain's is my go to cafe in the city.
