Cape Otway Lightstation reviews
51Beautiful lighthouse. Feel very far from the great Ocean road. Few buildings that you can visit. A bit of history about the 2nd world war and the old communication system.
One or two parts a little steep but rest mobility scooter accessible great to look at light house, coffee and scones were good
Nice big place but unfortunate that actual attraction which is the light station is closed for visitors. There is still ticket for the entry but not much exciting within the place itself. Few good historic things to view but just an average place.
Fun experience! Unfortunately due to recent earthquake, we can't access to the top of the lighthouse.
Out standing place to visit. $20 entry for adults is “ok”…but wouldn’t want it to be any more.
Well looked after however.
An enjoyable few hours walking around the historic sight. A climb up the lighthouse is well worth the effort. The historic talk was very informative if you're unfamiliar with the history of the area.
Good COVID-19 protocols. Well maintained property. Interesting history. Information well presented. Good Cafe on site.
This was the first time we climbed to the top of a lighthouse, the views are incredible! The climb was an adventure in itself and we all worked up an appetite for the delicious scones at the cafe. A piece of history amongst lovely views, highly recommend a visit with the kids. You can also spot koalas not far from the lighthouse at manna gum drive!
Lovely place to visit. Highly recommended. Don't forget to visit the cafe for their scone and coffee.
A beautiful place hidden in otway national park, A short walk from reception to light house, entry ticket is mandatory to go there. They got cafe next to light house and accommodation facility to stay during nights. A peaceful place to spend time here
Beautiful place with lots of history and great opportunity for photography. Kids will love to walk around and explore. Highly recommended to visit on your trip along the great ocean road!
Loved the view from the top of lighthouse and the scones with cream and jam. Felt the tickets were a bit pricey. Make sure you have a mask on, or will have to buy it from there and it is expensive.
Great location and worth the money to explore and climb the lighthouse. Good info and friendly knowledgeable staff
Great place to visit. Unbelievably windy but that only added to the spectacle, especially at the top of the lighthouse when you were walking into the wind. Also do the 6km return walk down to Crayfish Bay. It offers spectacular views and a picturesque stroll through coastal tea tree shrubbery and rural country side. Gives you an appetite for the superb scones and cream at the lighthouse cafe.
Spent 3 wonderful hours here. I highly recommend arriving in time for the 11am history talk, which is included in your entry (there is also one in the afternoon). This gave us a wonderful overview of the site’s history, families and importance. It made the whole place more interesting to walk around. Lovely cafe. Beautiful view from the top of the lighthouse.
Great place to visit and a lot to do. Enjoyed the talk by the guide which covered the history of the area very well and led to leads to visit other sites in the area. The lighthouse itself is fantastic. The aboriginal artefacts display was closed and there was no other reference to Aboriginal history in the area which was disappointing. The cafe is great and we had scones jam and cream which were outstanding. Worth the entrance fee to visit.
$19.5 for adult and $49.50 for family (2 adults and up to 4 kids), a quick price guide for people who want to visit the park, I visited the place on Monday, weather was excellent! The recommended activity is the Native Plant Talks – 12.00pm & 3.00pm. The guy was funny. I found out a few edible bush plants. I just picked and ate them while I was in the park, lol.
Sadly we got told the park is going to close in May 2021! So, please visit them and show your support. Hopefully it will save them from closing down.
Welcome to Cape Otway.a picturesque part of Victoria just off the Great Ocean road. I had recently had the opportunity to take a road trip to explore what country and coastal Victoria had to Otfer and was not disappointed. Situated on the cliff the lighthouse is the perfect place for those wanting an instagram worthy photo.do yourself a favour and add this to your places to see!
Had a great visit recently. Views are spectacular, the history interesting, drive in with wonderful trees was great and the staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
