Burger Basement

We drove for nearly an hour to get to this place to only be treated like a burden!
As we entered there was a group of people sitting on the two combined tables and there was left over food etc looked like they just finished celebrating a birthday. Then on the left there was an empty small table without any chairs. The rest of the tables were occupied except the last table on the right side, the two long tables were also combined to accomodate them. However only one person from that group was sitting on that big table.
As I approached to the counter I asked for a table for 7 people the lady refused to me and said there’s one hour wait. I said well it’s 8’0 clock right now and you close at 9 don’t you. So does that mean that we don’t get to eat here tonite? She didn’t say anything and then I mentioned her about the big table at the entrance and mentioned her that they look like they have finished and they were just hanging around not considering other people are waiting to be seated especially myself being visibly pregnant. Anyways she said they haven’t eaten yet there food hasn’t been served I said are you serious I can see the empty serving platters leftover food and empty drink cans which is quite evident that they have finished eating. She said oh yeah they’re having desserts then I said and you just told me we can’t have a table for another hour! She said yeah it will take them an hour to finish the dessert.
So overall she was not at all interested in having any more people dining in the restaurant.
The food was cold the only thing that was hot was the potato wedges and wings.

If we would’ve received a better customer service then the cold food wouldn’t have matter much. However the lack of customer service really made us feel like why we even made so much effort to come here. We were really excited to come and try the food.
We have never ever seen this kind of customer service anywhere in Australia! People make effort to make sure every customer walking in the door gets served. There was zero efforts!

The food was absolutely amazing

Racist and worse customer service ever got. They don't follow any queue. They prioritize some people than others. We were sitting near door on windy and cold weather. We requested to sit on empty table. Although we came earlier, they give those table some other people who came later. While we are eating, the owner came to us and shows racist attitudes. He saw the review and threatened me not to come in this restaurant with abusive words. We left the place without finishing our food. Seems like, in this restaurant, you are only welcome if you come from a certain community. Specially don't go there if you're Asian.

Nice place for a good burger. Had "the basement" and it was good, a great size too and almost too much for one person. Onion rings were also great.

The milkshakes were not great and definitely would not purchase again. Next time I'll just get a milkshake from the ice cream shop a little further down. It was tasted like water with sugar and some colour added. It really was not great. But the food was good.

Atmosphere was ok. Started to feel like it was a bit loud and crowded but it was a busy night

Delicious food. Lots of options on the menu. Good price. Kind, hard-working staff. It's excellent, quick service. Been here a couple of times. Will be my go-to place for burgers.

Food was the only issue, the chicken wraps had no flavour. The classic burger was soggy, slippery and tasted very pasty.
I think the cheese was the issue.
This wasnt a wrap, this was a burrito just missing the rice.
The lamb wrap was "meh"
Service great and atmosphere is comfortable

Decent burgers, but they treat you poorly if you walk through the door.ok for a delivery, but not in person. Last night, entering at about 9, doors are open, sign says open, people eating. Server smiles and waits for us to walk to the counter, before smiling and finally informing us "we're closed". No thanks, there are so many other burger options in a stones throw.

I'm not a fan of trying new foods. I like to stick to what I know (boring I know)
My daughter wouldn't stop raving about how good the burgers were/are at Burger Basement after going there with her friend's.
After finding out the restaurant I originally wanted to go to was closed, she suggested Burger Basement.
(Who closes on a Tuesday?) I guess it was just meant to be.

I was very hesitant when I saw the location and where the shop was situated, I was sure I was going to dislike the food.
I was WRONG!
The vibe was really nice, the staff were very friendly and the food was delicious and filling.
I ordered the vegetarian burger. Which was absolutely delicious (next time I'll ask for no coleslaw, as I'm not a fan) nevertheless very delicious.
I'm glad my daughter introduced us to Burger Basement, definitely will be back.

Excellent burgers. Tried a few times, different burgers, all was excellent. Lamb burgers are my preferred choice at Burger Basement.

Best non-veg burger I've had in Melbourne.
Great sweet potato fries (generous amount – you cannot finish a L order plus a burger) and delicious dipping sauces.

Ordered via Uber. $17 for a burger (before delivery) got my food cold but That may have been delivery time.but the tomato was green and The burger was lopsided and fell to bits as soon as I unwrapped it. It did taste alright but the price to quality ratio needs some work. Probably won’t order again.

Terrible customer service! Even saw a whole cat inside. The worker pet it and continued making and touching the foods with her hands unwashed or not even a wipe. Still disgusted and shocked. I left straight away DIDNT even dare to touch the menu

Decent range and decent quality ingredients from buns, cheese, sauces etc yet to try the chicken burgers but the beef patties are of very cheap low processed quality and if you're after bacon you won't have any luck here although they do have beef rashers which are a good substitute.

All in all, they taste okay so wouldn't hesitate to eat it again but they're a fairly average burger.

Burger Basement is an amazing all rounder when it comes to burgers, wraps and salads, I’m yet to taste any food from here that I dislike! All food is made fresh, probably one of the best burger places I’ve been too

Oh wow! Late night fix. Done. Very good food and service. Thanks so much. Family had a good late dinner here after watching Thor in Drive-in Cinema. Definitely coming back. Yum yum.
