Bun Cha Co Dao (Vietnamese) reviews
61We Uber 1 bún bò Huế it was ok and 1 bánh mì bò kho that only had 3 pieces of small beef. I don’t know how they packed that without realising it was not even a quarter of a normal serve.
Really enjoyed this! Best bun I have had in Footscray. Ordered bun cha (#38 on the menu). I dropped all the liquid into the bowl (not sure if that's what u are supposed to do, also don't care), then added condiments from the table: garlic, crushed chilli and fish sauce. Dish was great. Really enjoyed eating it and walked away feeling super fresh. Will be back again!
Tatse is oke. "thịt nướng" is juicy and match with Hanoi style. If you don't like salt food, this is not for you
I haven't tried other dishes yet so I don't know, but the other day, I ate Quang noodles very failed, the broth was super salty, the noodles were not of the right type, chewy, not delicious, the girls were also cute and enthusiastic but the price was not cheap but the food was not delicious ahuhuuuu
Got a takeaway grilled noodle bowl. They gave us tea while we were waiting! Generous in lettuce, bean sprouts, meat and sauce!
Great service, well priced and delicious
Been here many times, Finally have decided that the food especially the Soups and Pho are extremely salty.
I won't mention they just reheat everything in the microwave, but surprisingly still tastes reasonably well.
My last visit they changed the music 6 times in no more than 5 minutes, hense the 2 star rating for atmosphere.just let the music play.
As a person that comes from Northern VN, I can say this isn’t authentic at all. Well, if the term of authentic was related to Southern style, then maybe yes but pls don’t advertise it as “bun cha HN”.
To me, the food is just average and edible.
A gem of a restaurant. Everything is simple, fresh & delicious the service amazinly friendly. Always impresses my friends I bring here.
A very authentic North-Vietnamese place that serves food from the North and South of Vietnam. Their signature dish is the "Bun Cha" - a style of vermicelli dish with bits of pork/spring rolls dipped in your fish sauce/dipping sauce. Definitely get this. The price is quite cheap, the staff are friendly and the place looks nice. I will be back next time to try some of their more exotic Vietnamese dishes that you can't find in many places.
Amazing food with outstanding customer service that never disappoints.
The food is homey and so is the environment.
Definitely would recommend
Our favorite in the area. Super friendly and helpful staff. Grilled pork with flat noodles (#45) is amazingly simple and delicious!
Unbelievable service. My sister came to order take away and while waiting to take the food. She was talking on the phone with me. And the old lady ask her to go wait outside the restaurant, don't stay inside the restaurant.
Chị tôi đến order đồ ăn mang về và đứng đợi để lấy đồ ăn. Chị tôi đứng nghe điện thoại, thì cô phục vụ đuổi chị tôi ra ngoài đứng đi, đừng đứng trong nhà hàng. Ko thể tin được có thái độ phục vụ như vậy.
My go to place to escape Melbourne and launch myself right back to Vietnam. Authentic as it gets
Great food and friendly staff. The variety here is great. Lifeline during lockdown for my Viet cravings and just my go to in Footscray. Always go for the Bun Cha Nem and the Bun. I need to try more of the menu next time.
I’m obsessed with this place, best Bun cha Hanoi I’ve had in Melbourne, very friendly staff too I go back every two weeks.it’s too good.
Very clean, good atmosphere and fast service. The pho was really tasty and well cooked, very flavourful. My only criticism was the lack of fresh herbs served with the soup.
Described as authentic by someone from Hội An.
Clearly northern style. Mì Quảng excellent.
Great experience and service, in Footscray. Fast enough service, absolutely a go to with some rarer dishes, like Bún cá Hải Phòng
My partner took me to this restaurant where he said they make a good bun cha dish. We ordered it, generous portion and taste good but I think it's not a WOW. We do cook bun cha at home too and I like what we cook more than what we had at the restaurant. Friendly service. Fried fish ball was ok, nothing special. Very strong iced coffee.if you like it strong.
As a viet person (who rarely leaves reviews), legit the worst viet food I've ever had. Had bun rieu and it was noodles in water with 1 tomato. To other viet comrades, don't go here if you plan to
I was taken to this restaurant by my Vietnamese friend who has whole heartedly recommended this place. It is very authentic to a point where if you are not familiar with the cuisine you may end up with something quirky and potentially scary (it's good though).
The food is fresh and I would say the taste is just right for me for a light dinner. Nothing to complain about and all your favourites are there if you need them.
It's not often I go to the west side of Melbourne and this place is one of the most authentic Vietnamese restaurants outside of Springvale where I usually get my fix.
