Brown Brothers Milawa Vineyard reviews
84Stopped by on the way back home from Bright. Nice place all around. I bought 2 bottles of red wine and turns out they are 20% more expensive than i could get from retailer like Dan Murphy's ($16.5 vs $13 at Dan Murphy's).
We visited on the way home from Bright and were blown away by the service we received. The delicious wine is so well priced we could hardly believe our eyes. As little as $19 for a Pinot Grigio is unheard of in the Mornington Peninsula where a bottle of wine starts from $50. The meals were so scrumptious and the service was fantastic. The Scottish manager was very attentive (sorry I can't remember your name) and was also charming and entertaining.
The surroundings are contemporary either inside or outside and the grounds are meticulously kept.
We will be back.for sure.
Didn't bother to stay or buy. They wanted $10 for limited tasting. No tasting for what I wanted to buy. Poor selection for my taste. Very disappointed as I had been looking forward to visiting. Other wineries give a better experience.
Very nice. Wine tasting and restaurant combined. I was disappointed to find out that they only make one type of port.
Drove up from Melbourne for lunch for my birthday. It was a glorious day and the food and wine was devine. Staff in both the tastings and the restaurant were friendly, helpful and accommodating. This will now be our yearly pilgrimage at the very least.
Wines are beautiful, the cellar door is great and staff are friendly folk. Little bit expensive, pay for the name a bit but certainly an interesting range of wines.
Everything about this place deserves a 5. We travel to this region dozens of times a year. We finally made the commitment to go here for Lunch as it has been on our minds for a long time.
The food was absolutely top class. They have a great wine selection and the staff were just incredible.
Do yourself a favour and swing by as the food is just devine, just ask my daughter.
Looked like a nice place but they decided to finish tastings one hour earlier than schedule. 4pm rather than 5pm. Better call and check before heading their way.
What a wonderful experience today at Brown Brothers. We had a beautiful lunch to say the least and our server was a bubbly young lady with a smile that was contagious! Actually all the server's that we came in contact with were lovely and sincere.
After lunch we strolled through for our wine tasting. The staff here were amazing too! They made us feel welcomed and made me feel at ease even though I'm not a wine connoisseur! Thank you Brown Brothers for a memorable 25th wedding anniversary!
There was excellent service, food was well presented.company was ok. A very relaxing day.plus the surroundings were well maintained.
I had the pleasure of photographing Brent & Tayla's wedding at BB's Winery. A stunning location with beautiful scenery. The couple were so happy with their choice of venue.:)
Brilliantly adapted their wine bar to the current situation! Still able to dine outside and enjoy the gorgeous King Valley weather.
Staff super helpful, informative and supportive.
The updated menu offers larger dishes for lunch but still retains those small delicious share plates, although a little fancier.
Order the prosciutto!
Absolutely book to avoid disappointment! For the cellar door as well.
I photographed the wedding of Gen and Nik at Brown Brothers Winery, and these two marvellous humans picked this venue for obvious reasons! Thanks for the great hospitality, incredible event management and spectacular scenery.
Great surroundings, a beautiful day, good food and good wine and that was under COVID restrictions. Can't wait to see when they're fully operational
It’s Brown Brothers - doesn’t disappoint, professional, friendly and very prompt service. Wine selection is great, and lovely place to visit
I would love to go back again and again but unfortunately it is away from me. I love the brown brothers winery. Wine tastes so good and the food from the restaurant I delicious. You can also try the wines first from the shop and then buy it. **Highly Recommended**
Very nice vineyard to visit the shows off the history of Brown Brothers. Very relaxed setting with an outdoor cafe area near the old stables with tables or bean bags on the grass.
You can sample the great range of wines they have whilst enjoying a bite to eat.
Highly recommended for a visit if you are a wine lover!
Gourmet Discovery Day: myself and my wife
Started off with 10am short wine tasting and discovery of the different types, colours and aromas, followed by a tour of the property to see the vineyard, storage and bottling including the families collection. At 11 we'd returned for a longer wine tasting session, trying nearly one of every wine and discussing our preferences with suggestions. Lunch started around 1: 30pm which was later than we expected, but had a pleasant fine dining range with paired wine selection. Lamb was tender and duck was well cooked. Dessert felt a little lacking, but paired with the sweeter dessert wines added the extra touch of flavour. Red wine blending was the last stop set for after 3pm, where we blended 3 reds to make our custom blend and got to bottle and seal ourselves.
The staff were fantastic (each part with a different team member so got to meet them all) and knowledgeable in all the wines and their recommendations. Definitely recommend a hearty breakfast as lunch is a bit late, and if you finish all the wine you'll likely not make it to the afternoon session. Thankfully the staff were fantastic in accommodating us returning the following day to finish the experience.
Only suggestion to management would be to include morning tea, as something like scones to soak some alcohol would do wonders, plus means we could try the jams!
This is a lovely winery. I went on a tour of the property then dined in the restaurant. The tour was very interesting, the wine was great and the food was delicious.
Delicious lunch of 3 courses with matched wines. Tamar Reisling just stunning, and also introduced to a varietal, Gamay, which matched perfectly with kangaroo. Yum
