Botticelli Ristorante reviews
68 My partner and I had a lovely candle lit dinner tonight.
The waiters were lovely and attentive. When the food arrived it was cooked to perfection and we were only waiting a short while.
Highly recommend. Thank you for a lovely experience.
Many wonderful choices for main course! Great service & ambience, beautiful food and excellent main course sizes. A Brighton Institution!
This place was beautiful and service was perfect I had Vesuvio veal and my partner had the rib eye the food was amazing and the dessert was delicious we had italain disaster
Lovely Italian food & decadent coffee, not to forget the gorgeous person Daniella and everyone else who made our visit quite pleasantly unforgettable at this old-world corner on such a rainy day as today!
Would recommend every time one visits Brighton!
Amazing place and food. One of the best restaurant we've been so far. 5 Star service from Daniela as well. Esperienza straordinaria
My Gnocchi portion was tiny, left the restaurant still hungry, nevertheless it was still delicious
Came on a quiet weekday lunch, ordered the warm artichoke salad to start. Was nice but I wouldn’t say Italian flavours were prominent throughout it. More just a bowl of roasted veg with a globe artichoke on the top. I then ordered the papadelle with veal which wasn’t good at all, the ragu was bland, no seasoning and it arrived with a nob of unmelted butter in - perhaps where it hadn’t been tossed/finished properly?
The pasta itself was dried (I think). Sure, I appreciate that there is good quality pasta that is dried but at nearly $30 for a bowl I wasn’t expecting a bland ragu with dried pasta. Maybe I should have checked but I would assume that it was fresh given the price point. The ragu had none of the richness you would associate with a ragu and was closer to veal cooked in tomato than a proper ragu. No wine, no seasoning and none of the “caramelised onions or soft herbs” that was listed on the menu. Disappointing. A shame because the restaurant itself is very nice but if they can’t get it right on a quiet lunch service then I’ll be taking my dinner plans elsewhere
Had a great lunch.food the very good as was the service
Would not think twice of going back.
Thanks Don
Truly delicious Italian food and wine with authenticity. The linguine puttanesca was beyond delicious and the rucola salad and wine perfect.
Shaking head that haven’t frequented sooner/before. Will become a staple (if they’ll have me!)
Tonight, the staff and chefs provided us with one of the best Italian meals I have had. The grilled calamari was so tender and packed with the a complex mix of delicious flavours, that had us all scraping the sauce off our plate. My choice of pasta (and honestly the best Gluten Free pasta I have had) was generously served with prawns and scallops in a delicious sauce with just the right amount of heat. The gelato was incredibly creamy and you could taste the fresh fruit in the strawberry scoop. I only wished I lived in Melbourne as this would easily be my new favourite eatery. Thank you so much and well done on your outstanding food and service.
Authentic cuisine in a lovely ambiance with a rather good wine list. I think it's the best Italian restaurant in the SE.
Stopped here for a quick coffee on New Years day. What a perfect place for a romantic dinner. It is quite busy so probable best to book. The coffee was amazing with a complimentary homemade biscuit. The service was outstanding and the prices quite reasonable. Although I didn't eat here I intend on going back to eat as it looked and smelled amazing and the restaurant was so busy you have to assume it is good. Great care was also being taken to ensure covid rules were carried out and tables were being wiped down after every guest!
Very disappointed with the meal today. The garlic bread was burnt to which I told the waiter. He did not offer to replace but merely said “ I would eat it! ”. He returned several minutes later after I told him I could not eat it with three pieces of bread instead of six which we paid for.
The calamari was the worst calamari I have ever tasted. It also tasted burnt and lacked flavour. It was also very overpriced. On their webpage it was $27.95 but I was charged $35.95.
All I all a bad experience.
Good food, wine, and service. The dining area was a bit noisy when we were there last, but I guess people were excited to be out after so long in lock downs! We all enjoyed our meals, and look forward to coming back soon.
New to the area and needing to take someone very special out to lunch. Local suggestion. Absolutely BRILLIANT - Tasty food, fabulous atmosphere, brilliant service and the clincher…. A birthday surprise cake with candle for the guest of honour…. Complimenti- grazie…. Not even asked for…. Now THAT is service and I will be back DEFINITELY…. Grazie grazie- Tina
This is a classic hit-or-miss restaurant.
Sometimes the food is good and other times I'm underwhelmed.
THE GOOD:
Classy/restaurant style (not a cafe)
clean, well presented, good location
Mostly good service (again, sometimes service has been subpar, not Reflective of the restaurant calibre/prices)
When the food is good, its really good.
THE NOT SO GOOD
The food isn't always consistent.
The portion size can vary a great deal, there are times when there is hardly any meat in the bolognese dish. But looking at other customers' dishes, the serving size was much bigger and more meat despite my meal being a main size.
Avoid the tiramisu. It was sponge was terribly dry and too much mascarpone cream (consistent with the other reviews)
Avoid the garlic bread. Soaking in butter and garlic and no crunch in the bread.
For the upscale market that it tries to appeal to, there are areas that need to be improved. Given the price point and the upscale market Botticelli tries to appeal to, it's unfortunately 2 stars. Had it been more of a casual/cafe setting, then its shortcomings would be more forgiveable.
My son’s favourite restaurant! Kid friendly and perfect for a quick bite before the movies, or a
romantic dinner for 2! Great local!
Great food, reasonable prices. Fantastic service and friendly, helpful staff.
Highly recommended!
Fantastic service, food and atmosphere, highly recommended! Our Russian waitress was very welcoming, polite and friendly.
Beautiful food, wine menu is great. Didn't have pizza or pasta personally but saw it served to others and it looked fantastic
