Blue Chillies reviews
65Beautiful food and excellent service. The laksa is great and can be made gluten-free. The spring rolls and meet goreng were both also great.
Fast, fantastic service. Super friendly and even cooked a meal that is Malaysian but wasn't on the menu! Chicken curry was divine!
Fantastic service, everyone went above and beyond to make us feel at home. It was full house yet we were greeted and served with so much warmth. Food was amazing. You have a definite return customer!
I've been eating here for over 15 years, and it just keeps gettin gbetter. May signature standout dishes are the ochra, and the beef rendeng, but most dishes are fantastic here.
Had the Laska here and it was delicious! Asked for extra spicy and it was perfect. The lady working at the time was lovely too
The food here can be a bit hit and miss. I love the Nasi Goreng and my wife loves the laksa. Service is warm and nice. Its a good Malaysian restaurant but nothing exceptional.
Kung pow chicken was not authentic and only tasted so so. Duck rendang was slightly too sweet. Rice portion was too small. Staff were friendly, but it felt a bit too dark in there.
Hawker crispy noodles were flavoursome, and the serving was quite generous (I'm not a big eater). Staff were very warm and helpful too. However quite a number of items on the menu seem a little overpriced. Definitely not one for the cheap eats list but highly recommend if you want some decent Malaysian fare as a treat.
Food is delicious and staff are friendly. Mains about $25 and if you're hungry like me you'll want to order an entree.
Top class Laksa with fresh crunchy veg, friendly pleasant smiley staff, great range of Malay food. Highly recommended
Great ambience, reasonably priced food for the quality and quantity provided. The owner mentioned they are increasing the portion sizes based on customer feedback.which was good to hear. The owner and staff were very courteous and polite.
The food was very tasty with the right amount of chilli which gave it the kick. We ordered quute a number of dishes with Nasi Goreng being the best of the lot. I'd definitely go back to try other dishes.
Delicious meals, definitely recommend the Laksa. Great caring and friendly service. You can tell the people love the food and restaurant
A quiet and grown up place in the busy and crowded Fitzroy. The food was good, and the service was quick.
Came here with my family for dinner after reading good reviews of this place. We ordered individual dishes and a few hit and miss and the price is above the average. The curry laksa is decent. Hokkien noodle, har mee and char koey teow was just average. Not the authentic Malaysian style but was nice by itself. Portions are good.
Apparently there’s change of owners, never the less they are friendly and nice. Place is beautifully decorated with Malaysian theme. I’ve not tried their ala carte menu, maybe that’s better.
Also to add, Lohbak was tasty but was not fried properly. The piece I took was actually cold. Service was good. Some room of improvement. No pork served. Overall 5.5/10.
Delicious food, amazing service, intimate surrounds. Perfect place to meet up with friends for a meal!
We had the squid, prawns, and satay chicken for starters which were all delicious. Then thrice cooked duck in sweet plum sauce which was even better- recommend!
Blue Chillies keeps drawing you back! Nestled in the sleepier end of Brunswick St is the gem of the orient as far as foodies are concerned. Amazing taste sensations ranging from the signature dish of perfectly cooked rockling surrounding by a fairy floss of egg, to thrice cooked duck, and hawker style Malay dishes.
The food is complimented by the attentive service of Bonnie and her staff within a cosy atmosphere where you can hear yourselves speak.
I can't wait for my next meal.
Amazing vegetable laksa with large pieces of eggplant bursting with flavor. I'm usually not a fan of eggplant but this was exceptional. Interior is very decorative.
We ordered two excellently presented dishes: a delicate and balanced deep fried fish dish and tasty curry chicken roti that was sufficiently but not exceedingly spicy. Their customer service also deserves much recognition. Will definitely be back soon.
