Bistro La Provence reviews
54Lovely lovely restaurant. Everything we ordered was spectacular, the scallops, croquettes, coq au vin and steaks were amazing. Wine list was great, lots of white wine options, not as many reds. The Creme Brûlée was to die for and a perfect dessert.
Fantastic food. The quality and taste of food really exceeded my expectations. Everytime was packed with flavour and love. From the gorgeous french escargot that you want to soak up with bread to an amazing fresh mackerel on fennel dish that was one of the best fish dishes I've ever had. The French soup even though sounds simple ended up being a flavour explosion. Lovely atmosphere and really enjoyed our experience. Just take note if you are going for am 8.15pm the restaurant gets quite busy so it may take a bit to get started.
Highly recommend dining here if you want to experience high quality flavourful french food.
It’s almost tempting to keep this wonderful secret restaurant to oneself, but that would be so unfair to the team who toil to provide such a wonderful experience.
For lovers of traditional French cuisine, this is the real deal.
The fish (and sauce) were truly perfect. Cheek rich and so classically yummy. Then Finish the evening with a Desert and blue flames plus matching wines.
Superb attentive and informed service from Lindsay made our night very special.
We left feeling full and very, very smiley.
Bravo to excellence.
(Side Note; Brighton clientele are somewhat conservative so probably not the place for a bucks party).
Great food and great service, nice ambiance and an amazing traditional French Bistro menu. We had 3 excellent courses and rolled out very happy just before the 5.0 lock down.
A secret sort of place. It has tardis qualities presenting a tiny entrance that winds into a large dining room within.
The cuisine is delicious, quite traditional and very generous. The service, though somewhat inattentive, was accurate.
Cozy environment. Lovely food. Good service. Nice to sit near the fire place on a cool evening. Happy to return again.
We had a lovely dinner here. The food was delicious, the service was discreet and friendly and the atmosphere was cosy, if a tad sedate. The demographic of clientele seems to be 76 year olds who own a Bentley ;) however made for some interesting people watching.
We always love dining here. First class food in a restful and lovely dining room. Served by first rate classy and friendly staff. Recommend for a special night.
Always happy to dine here. Able to return after Victoria COVID lockdown 3.0. Food and wine as good as ever with quite ambience
Maybe it was an off night, but extremely disappointing compared to what we expected. Very noisy with an obnoxious table of 6 drunken people next to us, hard to talk to each other across the table. Only 3 red wines by the glass which were all terrible (why when you have premium champagne and lovely whites by the glass?). Beef cheek was extremely dry, one small basket of bread for the rillette and mussels, but then they ran out. Tried to order a glass of wine from a waiter, but after 15 minutes he still hadn’t returned with a glass despite serving other patrons (turns out he is new and forgot our order despite being asked a second time). And no one ever asked how our meals were so no chance to provide feedback to the chef. Unlikely we will return.
Intimate place, perfect to go with your romantic partner.
Good menu options, including entrees, mains, desserts and beverage.
My partner and I had good dinner experience. Everything was delicious - I have to say that the French soup impressed me a lot and the duck was the best that I’ve ever had.
Also, the service is perfect. We had a mistake in the order, however, the waiter was incredible quick and friendly to fix the issue, make us feeling comfortable the hole night.
It’s the perfect place to have an excellent dinner and a romantic night.
Really chic and cozy ambience, friendly service, amazing French food with really fresh ingredients, great location - within walking distance to Dendy beach. We’d definitely be back!
Loved this place. Great food, friendly staff and quiet so easy to talk. Felt like being in someone's house. Would recommend
Wonderful ambience, private feel, perfect menu (French classics done with finesse), friendly service and most importantly the food was delicious.
Great selection of wines by the glass, and some great cocktails.
Great to come back here after one year.
Ambient, beautiful decor and friendly staff.
Food always delicious.
We first met the owners in their original restaurant in Bitten.
Have great memories and nothing has changed in the quality of good etc.
Our favourite local French Restaurant Can't get past the Eye Fillet (Sanyon?) & Frites followed by the Crêpes Suzette.
Very nice French restaurant; good service and meny with a robust wine list. Definitely worth a visit.
We celebrated my partner's birthday, it was a true gem! We absolutely loved the atmosphere, the friendliness and quality of service, recommendations were spot on and the food was just fabulous. I would highly recommend it.
Cannot fault this place. Food and service is top notch. Calm, elegant atmosphere.
Recommended.
What a sensational find in Brighton. The food, service and ambience all combined to make a very enjoyable experience. The attention to soft furnishings meant that we could have an intimate conversation, not something that is always possible in restaurants. Every dish was perfect and the sommelier matched a lovely wine with our choices. We will certainly make this a regular place for dinner.
