Bird's Basement reviews
73Sorry it was meant to be 5 stars. At the birds basement I had the best time the entertainment was fantastic the people were great and the service was fantastic I would recommend it for everybody to have that experience.
Amazing experience, great staff, just right venue, close and intimate to each other and the stage but not cramped, complimented by not only surround sound, but with sparkling clean mirrors and smart use of cameras enabling surround vision! Along with outstanding food and great artists, An true immersion experience! Thankyou.
A classy, intimate venue with live performances from the finest local and international acts. Incredible acoustics! Birds Basement is a true gem and a necessity to the music industry and Melbourne city. Absolutely love this place!
My partner and I went to see The Grand Wazoo at Bird's Basement and left feeling very disappointed. We were not able to choose our seats and were appointed seats near the back bar, from which we had a side view of the stage. Unfortunately, our view was blocked by the less-than-animated horn section and accompanying music stands, so we ended up watching most of the performance on a poorly synced screen, which is not what we paid approx $130 for. The drinks were expensive and the dessert we ordered took a long time to be served. It's a shame because the venue has a beautiful atmosphere and no doubt we would have felt differently if we'd seen a smaller band and hadn't been forced to watch a screen all night. Best to choose what you see there wisely.
Amazing venue with an incredible team! Great service and a wonderful atmosphere. Special mention to Annie, Nat and the bar team!
Band was great, but if I buy a $73 bottle of wine, I really expect the waiter to pour it into glasses
Birds Basement is our favourite music venue! They have great artists. Last night I saw Renne Geyer and she was amazing. The food and wine list is excellent and the service is amazing! Special thanks to Nat for the great seats, we'll see you again very soon! - Chris and Pauline
Great venue, fantastic staff. I really appreciated the 'can do' attitude of all staff. They must have been working here a long time to be so on the ball. Will be back!
With the right band this place is a blast. A basic, although reasonable quality menu and a surprisingly large range of drinks to engage in. Overall a tremendous venue for live music.
Great atmosphere food was nice great service And live music had fun recommended will go again.
Seriously disappointed - "EVERY SEAT IS MAGICAL AT BIRD'S BASEMENT. "
Except for the table of 6 in B Reserve where there's a grand piano blocking the view of the stage for all 6 seats.
Went to see Russell Morris on 19/03 after booking the tickets mid last year. 2 of the 6 people at our table could only see the top of the head of the guitarist and nothing else of the other 3 people on stage. The other 4 seats could see absolutely nothing of the stage due to the piano completely blocking the view!
Either move the piano or stop selling seats where your patrons might as well be wearing blindfolds.
Given you can only select the section you sit in not the table when you book tickets, to then get blamed for 'our poor table choice' by your customer service person was pathetic.
Just to clarify for your response - my partner who'd booked the seats contacted you to give you a chance to respond. That's why my reference to getting blamed for our poor table choice.
You should not be selling tickets for tables when the customers cannot even see a portion of the act.
Loved it! James Morrison was amazing. Great place for a drink or a small bite to eat. Atmosphere is very classic jazz club. Will definitely go again
Thoroughly enjoyed last night's Grace Knights show! Amazing room, facilities, food and staff. All-over a fantastic experience! Stayed at the Corner Jazz Hotel which totally made for an amazing weekend! Will be watching the gig guide and will absolutely be back! Highly recommended to anyone who loves live music, amazing food and ambiance.
Fantastic performance by Tex Perkins & Matt Walker last night at Birds Basement. Super friendly staff, great service & live music at its best.
Had the best night here. The staff went above and beyond to help us and everyone was so friendly. The venue itself has great technology so wherever you are you can enjoy the show. We were a big group and everyone enjoyed their food except for the steaks which were not quite hitting the mark for the price point. Otherwise a really fun night out for intergenerational groups.
Good music but booked A reserve and shoved in a corner up the back and paid extra money for A reserve all we saw was the side of the band
Couldn't work out how they arrange their setting disappointed
Trying to order a drink was along time in between had to get a waiters attention
Interesting to see how many people can be squeezed into a venue particularly given that we have just had restrictions lifted. Paid for balcony seating and could not even sit properly as you couldn’t move out of your seats without climbing over the people beside you. Very disappointing
Great setting and always great music. Drinks and food are pricey, but it's a jazz club.there's no money in jazz unfortunately.
Music is top class. The dining experience was good but not outstanding. It's catered for en masse - think good wedding food
Great night at Bird's Basement watching the legendary Russell Morris and band. Enjoyed the venue and food.
