BIG4 Ballarat Goldfields Holiday Park reviews
68Staff were very friendly and helpful given our circumstances. Had to make last minute booking due to car issues, the next day was hot, and staff allowed a late checkout while our car was being fixed, even gave the kids an icy-pole.very accommodating and we will be back when we next visit Ballarat.
We just checked out today after a 7 night stay and I must say I felt like I needed to leave a review for these guys! Absolutely amazing staff. Our 2 bedroom cabin was perfect for what we needed (2 adults and 1 child) and we went with 8 other families as an annual trip we do each year.
This year we booked a little late and we only found NRMA Ballarat that was able to cater for us all and they sure did come through with the goods. They had activities everyday for the kids, the pool was awesome for all ages. All other areas of the park were also really good.
We also met the park manager Susan who was absolutely lovely and always made sure we felt at home.
Let’s just say that, to keep all 9 families happy during a 7 night stay pretty much sums it all up. We will definetly be back and would highly recommend this site for anyone. Amazing work NRMA team!
Pricing structure like all break down companies buying parks is a total price gouge was charged on a sliding scale because they said that they were busy but the park was 30% empty caravan parks association needs to clamp down on these practices fixed price all year round like it used to be.
A great little van park close to town and attractions, good clean facilities, well kept, quiet and tidy. The good bits are very good!
The down side is the van sites are very small and many are near impossible for larger vans, the staff don't seem to understand the needs of vanners well and don't offer any assistance or check the size of the van for the site they have booked for it.: - (
we booked the new onsuite site, the facilities are great but parking the van was an effort. I saw one van owner damage a new car while trying to reverse, another had to give up and demand a site that fitted their van.
(Rainbow beach in QLD has solved this problem with a small tractor called "The Marriage Saver" and everyone who stays has their van parked for them!
They have installed a new cashless laundry dryer system and the office staff have no idea how it works, again for people who do not use moble phones to pay the system is near impossible to use.
They have a small heated pool I was looking forward to relaxing in after a long drive but it's out of order and closed: - (
No one seems to know anything about what is going on.
It's a good place.just mildly annoying stuff stops it from being great
-
NOTE: The slab for the van was great but by the time we managed to back the van onto it it was very muddy after heavy rain and fresh topsoil
It was quick and easy to wash down with a hose.the only problem was trying to decide if I should was the mud away or pan for gold)!
Stayed on a powered site. Very awkward to get vans onto sites, particularly bigger vans and rigs. Amenities good.
Had a great time. Good amenities. Only flaw is having to pay to use spa. Otherwise, enjoyed everything else.
Never been to Ballarat before it’s a beautiful place a little cold for us North Queenslanders. The park was great although the caravan site was a little tight for our big van. The prices for the washing machine and dryers were a bit expensive compared to other parks we have stayed. The camp kitchen was excellent and the amenities. Very close to Sovereign Hills. The girls at reception were all very nice and friendly and recommended lots of places to see and eat at.
Stayed here for a night in a three bedroom cabin. Service was good. It's nice and close to Sovereign Hill. Cabin had everything we needed. We would stay again.
Very good place to stay. Quiet super clean. Friendly obliging staff. Well located and extremely modern.
We had some troubles upon arrival which were sorted out in a manner beyond our expectations by the wonderful Wayne. This is a lovely Park, lots of greenery and great facilities, and close to restaurants and shops, but the customer service here is exemplary. A big thank you to the staff for ensuring our stay was perfect. We will certainly stay here again!
My partner and I stayed here with our 1 and 3 year old over the long weekend and had the most amazing time. Accomodation was super affordable. Amazing facilities - loved the camp kitchen that was right opposite the fenced playground so we could cook whilst watching the kids and knew they couldn’t escape! Great location, within walking distance to bottle shop, Sovereign Hill, convenience store and some takeaway food options, short drive to the centre of Ballarat. So many activities for the kids to do - we loved the jumping pillow, pool and the pedal go karts. Felt like a super safe environment for them to free roam around the park. Staff were super friendly and more than willing to help in anyway. They suggested the best places to eat locally and where was most suitable for taking the kids! Room was spotless, bed was extremely comfortable, water pressure in the shower was fantastic! Room had everything we needed. Couldn’t fault our stay one bit!
Very lovely room we had, have stayed before but now they have expanded the amount of cabins and types of cabins a better range for everyone
Staff were very pleasant and helpful wanted accom for 1 night.only thing on offer was a $200 pn cabin or a $56 pn powered tent site.took the tent site but it was situated on a corner site right beside the public bbq area which meant no privacy or quiet time for us.bit money hungry.found a nice motel just up the rd for $120.
Great spot for a family holiday. We might not normally have picked a holiday park in Ballarat and were pleasantly surprised. The facilities are great, the cabin was super clean and comfortable. The location is great. Reception was friendly and had things on each day for the kids. This park was excellent value for money. Recommended!
We loved staying here, the entire day has been joyful and entertaining. Good hospitality and helpful and friendly staff, we had enjoyable stay. Cabin was very clean. We would recommend this place.
My family booked the 3 bedroom cabin.
Was a first for us so we were amazed at how much could be fitted in a smaller space.
The cabin was well equipped with essentials and very neat and tidy.
The staff were great too.
The amenities were well kept.
We used the indoor spa pool, jumping pillows, pedal bikes and the tennis court.
The court was small but we were amateurs so, didn’t matter. Was fun regardless.
The baths were clean and BBQ areas were well maintained.
Close proximity to Sovereign Hill and a beautiful lake.
Highly recommend this place.
The staff are very helpful, place tidy, plenty of room for people to stay and plenty of cabins
We stayed a week at the end of August whilst having some repairs to our caravan. The staff could not have been more helpful in meeting the challenges of our accommodation requirements, which made our stay all the more enjoyable. The park has good facilities, including a great camp kitchen. We will will definitely be back as we loved Ballarat and its proximity to Melbourne.
Great updated clean and heated amenities, clean grass sites, updated camp kitchen and fire pit area. Bit muddy but in fairness, has been raining a lot. Thanks
Nice big park. Love the amenities. Nothing like heated floors in winter. Brilliant big indoor heated pool. Also great camp kitchen. Great location, close to Sovereign Hill. Highly recommend
