Sorry to say that the steak pie was average in taste and really is mince rather than steak.however the cakes and pastries make up for it and the Lamington, divine!

Ate here at around 1.30, lack of choice available was disappointing, the sandwich maker had gone home so only what you could see was available, I feel this place let's down the other Beechworth Bakeries I've been to!

Another must stop when visiting Ballarat.

There is a large selection of bakery goods in offer here.

Loads of parking behind the building, with direct access from that carpark too.

There are lots of seating options and it is disabled friendly too.

There are some low gluten options available (they are gluten free but can't say they are gluten free as they cannot guarantee there is no cross contamination. I am celiac and haven't had any issues so far).

Staff are friendly too.

Warm coffee milk shakes, large? More like a small.
Beesting has 2 almonds on top
Pastie is flat and tasteless
Pie was quality of a Coles home made brand
Nothing like Healsvile or Echuca.
Wouldn't bother again

Hot chocolate was horrible, even a coles brand home made hot chocolate tastes better. Kinda rip off of the real thing

Staff were lovely, but the hot chocolate was undissovled powder and bitter. The eclair was nice, but the famous beach worth beesting was flat and tasteless and nothing like the ones at the original Beechworth bakery.

Absolutely delicious food, worth the drive from Melbourne & will continue to make the drive.

Pies are better than i remember. They could be a little quicker behind the counter, but if you're not in a rush it's a good place to go

Not as good as I remembered years ago. Staff was friendly, food was ok, price was a bit of a shock at the register. $65.00 for Family of 5. Kinda expensive for pies and cake. They really need heating in these old buildings.

I enjoy going here, the pies are nice. I've tried the cauliflower one too and it's delicious for something different. My partner enjoyed his coffee and sausage roll!

I drove 10 hours for this. Seriously both vegetarian pies are amazing and the coffee is good as well. I’m from Sydney and I haven’t had a pie like that in so long. Amazing customer service too!

Honestly, the best coffee and scones I've had in Ballarat! We were visiting from Melbourne and wanted to check out some popular coffee/cafe spots. We tried a few others like Piper's on the lake, Wen & Ware, Eau Verte and a few others and as nice as they were in their own way. Beechworth Bakery, is 100% the number one place for a cafe.

I'm not a coffee drinker but took a few sips from Mum and it was really good. The scones were heavenly! Perfectly cooked, not too soft or tough. Also, a slight drizzle of honey glaze was delicious and the cream was thick and whipped which was enjoyable as it didn't melt off the warm scone. Grandma also had an eclair that she loved and compared it to a similar one she had in New Zealand over 30+ years ago! She said it brought her back to some memories.

If you come to Ballarat, come to Beechworth Bakery!

P. S I didn't even have time to take pictures as we were stuffing our faces!

Huge bakery with lots of choices - for the sweet or savoury tooth! Choices range from pies, pastries, donuts, toasties, éclairs, wraps, sandwiches, scones and coffee. Our favourite was the Apple Turnover and of course the Beesting! Not too sweet. Just perfect. Smooth and delicious. Ned Kelly's pie is packed full of meat filling. Lots of seating places. We were at the bakery twice today! If you want a calm and peaceful breakfast while reading the papers with your coffee, you have to be there around 7am onwards. Plus you get a whole range of choices. We came back a second round around noon time, it was super busy and many of the popular choices were sold out. A simple place to feed all different taste buds. Reasonably priced.

Beechworth bakeries have changed quite a bit since the beginning of the covid 19 pandemic; my wife was refused service at the Beechworth bakery because our daughters wheelchair could not be catered for "in-store"!

Coffee sucks (tasted like frothed milk - Couldn't taste any espresso - Felt like drinking a warm cup of milk) but the bakery stuff is really nice and tasty. Will come back to eat something but will never return to have coffee here

Very average steak pie like a normal frozen meat pie from a supermarket. Had a while to go there but it is not the same as it used to be. Very few choices of hot food in oven around 11am in the morning. Have stopped off sometimes on our roadtrips from Adelaide to Melbourne. Expected much better. Coffee scroll was okay. Service was good.

The bakery has a lovely ambience. Staff were friendly and appeared to really enjoy each other's company which added to the friendly atmosphere. Coffee was great!

Probably the worst of the Beechworth franchise I've had. Flat crispy bee sting, burnt sausage roll, flavourless Apple square and a rigid potato top pie. Avoid.

Recommended. We were going to eat at another bakery but it turned out to be very small and no inside seating. Beechworth was second choice but should have been first. It was very nice. Good food and an old fashioned feel.
