77 Went today to have breakfast as soon as we entered it was a pleasure. We sat outside because the sun was shining in the beautiful courtyard. We were greeted by a beautiful smile from the lady who served us and I am sorry I did not get her name (but she returned from maternity leave) given our menus and ordered the latte with lactose milk.
We ordered the vegetarian breakfast and the big breakfast. It was the best breakfast we have ever had. The presentation and taste was outstanding.
We definitely will go again and recommend it to anyone that you must go and enjoy this beautiful gem of a restaurant in frankston.
Our group of six went there for a birthday dinner and ordered a variety of meals. All of us found the meals of average quality, and there wasn't much of them. My Barramundi fillet was small and was able to cover most of the small cubes of potatoe on the plate. It was more like a large entree than a main. My son had the 300g Porterhouse steak & "fat" chips, which came out with four (4) chips on the plate that weren't that big.
We had a large table next to us with loud people on it, which made conversation difficult. Had to strain to hear each other and raise voices to be heard.
Most of the staff seemed flustered, forgetting a drinks order and not wiping the table down after the last group. (Crumbs & a bit sticky here and there)
It wasn't horrible, but in my opinion it was very average given the prices they were charging for the meals are on a par with other places where the quality & quantity has been much greater.
Won't be heading back.
Celebrated my 16th birthday and my brothers 18th here tonight.really good food and very friendly and helpful staff. Will was our server for most of the night and did an incredible job with our big group of people under pressure and still managed to have a smile with quality service.definitely will be back:)
Fantastic set-up & much larger than it looks from the outside, we have been, for both breakfast and lunch with everyone's meals being excellent and on the larger than smaller size especially breakfast. All of our drinks were great from milkshake, tea & coffee, the staff were fantastic and under the pump as it was busy with drinks & meals coming out in around 5-10 for drinks, 15min for meals. Extremely well trained staff, probably a good idea to book ahead.
Friendly staff, good food, just could have turned the heater up abit, it was a tad chilly inside, but otherwise enjoyable
Absolutely terrible service. Not friendly at all and sighed, rolled her eyes and was blatantly rude when we asked for things. Dumped the drinks on our table and had us pass them out to a table of 10 ourselves. The staff clearly don't want to be here which tainted the experience. With the food mediocre at best we won't be returning which is a shame because we are local. The reviews must be old because this is not a reflection of what the restaurant is today.
We had the falafel plate. It was perfect for a light lunch, I just wish they had some more vegan options.
Food is nowhere near as good as it used to be. Was given a water glass that hadn't been washed!
Great Sunday afternoon but the toilet has no soap or hand sanitiser come on it still covid19 time.
A great place to be in with family. Nice staff. We had couple of times there and we feel very caring and very considering staff.
Beach162 might be a bit of a misnomer with Frankston Beach being more than 2 kms away. That said - it is probably a good venue to repair to after a day at the Beach or anywhere else. Eclectic Mediterranean decor inside - multi spacious "rooms" which lead to either the alfresco palm fringed front courtyard to covered pillared light filled patio at the back. Even the ceilings have not been spared! Good fun checking it all out! Parking is tight but there are limited spaces at back - entry from side street.
Food is good but not exceptional. I had falafel vegetarian platter. The falafel looked liked it came out of a packet but passed the taste test (I could be wrong about origin) & salad was fresh. My tea was served in a coffee plunger - is this mediterranean style? Odd. We were a noisy big bunch for lunch - mostly everyone liked their order except for one who found the grilled chicken fillet tough & dry. Wait staff explained the delay to someone who ordered gluten free. All up - good service too.
The entertainment was too loud as people were trying to chat. Turn it down a bit and it would have been so much better. Nice food. But nothing special
Waitress pulled faces at us when asked how long our food would be, saying ‘you only ordered 15 minutes ago’
poor table service and expensive for the quality.
Iam very disappointed with the experience I had at this restaurant. Upon sitting at our table we didn’t even get menus. We waited 30 mins for the menus to be given to us. We then waited another 15 minutes for the waiters to take our order and then another 30-40 min wait for the food. The food itself was very mediocre at best. Fish and chicken pieces dry. There “chips” just huge chunky soggy flavourless potatoes. All that waiting for such average food. Do not recommend this place.
Nice atmosphere, good bistro-style food. 40+ age group with music from the 70's. Try it out with friends.
Love this place. Im what some would call a local now. Lovely staff, tasty and delicious food. All round amazing.
We ordered a pizza which unfortunately took ages to arrive. It was tasty when it finally came. We then had to wait again longer than usual for deserts and coffee. It was a quiet day so must be short staffed.
We were invited to a Dear Friends 70th birthday to 'beach 162' on the 12th Feb 2022.
Firstly Hats off and cudos to Mark the amazing Bar Attendant who was so professional easy going and even took our orders for dinner.
Thank you Mark, sincerley Nola.
The Grazing Platter, Entres, and Main meals were so well presented and all of the food was fresh. AllI can say is the Barrumundi was amazing.
Thank you to the Chef, Kitchen Staff, and everyone else involved with this amazing Evening.
Cheers Nola & David
