Baxter Tavern & Motel reviews
50Great place to eat, one staff member in particular went out of her way to make our experience a great one.
The waitresses were absolutely lovely, they made us feel extremely welcome. I look forward to coming here again!
People were nice, food was average
Bread rolls were great. I chose the Ravioli and pumpkin. The sauce was like the contents of pumpkin soup. It was a bit heavy for the dish.
Had a lovely meal, caught up with friends we haven't seen for a while. Had a great day!
Asked to be by the fire (no where near) and put at a table right near the line to order food (which they had limited supply) really disappointed won’t be back
Panko crumbed chicken breast is how it was described on the menu, but what I was served was one of those heart shaped $2 50 processed meat jobs, it was terrible!
My family are I went for a meal last night and was fantastic, the food was great and friendly staff and also a great atmosphere.
Very good.hadn't been there for many years due to a few disappoints.
Will be sure to go back.
Had a chicken parma and chips, loved it loved the servoce stafg were friendly and welcoming great atmosphere
Staff lovely, food fast and hot, covid had to sit outside due to limits, but heaters helped. Thanks
Went to the Tavern for the first time today for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The welcome, the friendly staff, the atmosphere and the selection of food was excellent. Food came out on time and the dishes were fresh and tasty. Great place to meet up with friends. Will be back.
The carbonara was disgusting.it tasted like onion and was sweet and caramelised.the chips had no flavour, the drinks were flat, the fish and chips were average, and the nachos had too much sour cream.service was fast but the food was bad, average at best.this place gets 1 star because it has good atmosphere and live music.would not recommend
Excellent pub with a great selection on the menu. Large size meals and friendly staff. I definitely will be going back again.
Very sorry to hear that the Baxter Tavern no longer has the duo "Don's Party" on the first Saturday of every month. We have made a point of patronising the Baxter for over 9 years because of this band. We have even brought in a number of patrons who became regulars. Our family in Keilor used to come to the Baxter to celebrate birthday parties and other celebrations on a regular basis.
It was the one day in the month that I could put on my glad rags and have a great jig on the dance floor with family and friends.
Unfortunately, those patrons have said if there is no "Don's Party" at the Baxter any more there is no point in us going, as it was the highight of our calendars.
It's ok. Expensive beer $7.80 for a schooner. No need for those prices when you have 30 or so pokies that are making more then enough money. Greed on behalf of the owner. Room to rent are degraded.
Food here is pretty good but just need a better ordering system, can't be bothered waiting in a queue for an hour just to order our food. Either the waiters/waitresses come to you or you should an ordering system via the mobile phone
Best wedding ever, great food, friendly staff they can make your special occasions a lasting memory forever, love u guys and thank u once again for a brilliant wedding reception
I have been coming here as a regular with my family for many years now - it's my childhood pub. So, I have been getting the steak and chips every time and it has always been good, but never quite fantastic. However, I hadn't been for some time until recently and may I just say, well done. The chairs got an upgrade, the plates are very aesthetically pleasing and the food has improved greatly! I had a rib-eye steak that was perfectly cooked, the chips have always been great and my steak stayed hot on the heated plate. I'd only fault it for being under-seasoned, and the garlic flavour in the garlic butter was really mild. Apart from that, fantastic!
Maybe get rid of the painting of the naked woman on the wall though. This is a great place for families and I was a little disturbed to see it while I was trying to eat.
I shall be returning soon.
