Barwon Heads Fish & Chips

Extremely poor service from i assume the owner. Walked away without ordering. Customer service skills severely lacking

I have never felt so put in my place by the rudest man. I am a local and was on my way home and thought I'd call in to buy fish and chips. His first response was "what did I order? " to which I replied " I hadn't and was he open? " Well I'm here so what do you want? Most people are ordering online which is what you are supposed to be doing? " I declined and seeing the reviews the stress of our current situation isn't the reason for his poor performance. Enjoyed the service from another provider and will share this story to many. Might be time to hang up the apron.

Nice fish and chips, beautiful batter on the fish, crispy chips. It’s where I buy my fish and chips when I visit Barwon Heads. I am a local in the area. All you need is a Fisherman’s Basket and I’ll be there more frequently. Recommends this shop, no worries.

Worst surf shop ever, coffee i had was cold, i asked for a Vietnamese roll to which they gave me a chiko roll. Definitely reccomend staying the night.

Disappointed in the food quality. Calamari was not fresh, just processed frozen rubbish, quick and cheap for the owner to push out. Potato cakes were also very processed and tasted bland. Chips were ok but nothing special, minimum chips serves 2 people.
Owners seem to be cashing in on tourist dollar by affordable pricing but terrible food quality. Can get better fish and chips at home. Please insert a love of food, nothing to be proud of here.

The best fish in Barwon Heads. Crispy chips. Very friendly staff. Been going here for over 10 years. Do yourself a favor get here

Most disappointing service, even had staff come to our table outside, empty handed, to let us know our food was on the counter. Price seemed on par with others but food was only fair. Sorry, not good enough.

Came here on long weekend, they were being slammed. Taking this into consideration the fish and chips were fresh and crispy. The Thai salad was fresh hut needed a real Thai dressing. And some things on the menu are quite expensive.

Worst and most expensive Fish n Chips I've ever had. Nothing Fresh everything frozen even the "special" completely undercooked. Potatoe cakes frozen and processed. We couldn't even eat it. For the first time I felt so disrespected by the lack of customer care in chosen food. What a rip off. What a waste of time.

Fish and chips were so bad i wouldn't even feed them to the seagulls. Potato cakes stink and taste like cardboard. Fish reeks like its been in the fridge for a month. I won't be surprised if my family ends up with food poisoning. $5 of chips didnt even feed 2 of us.

Very very poor & rude owner. Girl on the register was so brilliant and deserves better treatment from her boss. Vibes were horrible and food was deliberately cooked to an appalling level. Staff shouldn’t look frightened in their own workplace!

I went in to this lovely shop with my husband the other day and I had the best service by these two young girls. They were very approachable and had the biggest smiles on their faces. This shop has excellent tasting food cooked at a quality that will surely bring my husband and I back in very soon. Definitely recommend this fish ‘n chip shop!

Burgers missing taste but very filling. $$$ for chip shop burgers: O. Chips soggy even after asking for well done. I am sure you can do better esp where you are

Friendly staff:) We had the burger with the lot (one without egg) and minimum chips. Really fresh and delicious

Service speed was excellent, very friendly staff. Food is cooked very well, especially the flake. Price is slightly on the higher end, but definitely worth it for the high quality fish and chips provided by this shop.
