Barwon Heads Fish & Chips

Burgers were delicious, fast service and the owner was very pleasant and praised his staff which was lovely to hear.

Chips were ok, potato cakes ok also but the flake was not good. Batter was patchy which would suggest excess moisture in the fish, three people feeling not too well after eating it with one physically ill afterwards and during the night. Most disappointed as it was the recommended place to go.

Waited 10 mins to order, then rudely told you can only get served by ordering online, tried to order online and had to reorder and reorder so gave up.
Try somewhere else for service

Golden chips, airy potato cakes, and flake that's not over-battered. The calamari rings also tasty and not the over-processed type. They stated up front on their web site that the menu is currently limited, but there was everything our family of 6 grown-ups needed in a fish and chip meal. The online ordering system worked well. Sure, it's not something you'd expect to have to do for your basic fish'n'chips order, but with the amount of businesses closed at the moment due to shortage of staff in covid-based isolation, the system works well. And it keeps them going.able to service families like mine. Thanks guys!

Went on New Year's Day, Service was good, Online ordering was easy, Timing was good but unfortunately the food was not very good, spent $35, whole order ended up in the bin, disappointing considering it is a tourist destination.

Chips were great, possibly the best I’ve ever had. 4 stars because of the strange vibes when ordering from Young Gun at the till.

The worse fish&chips I have eaten. $9 for piece's of flake that was not fresh at all and paper fin. Infact the whole order ended up in the bin. Myself my wife, brother his partner and kids spent over $100 on garbage. The place should be ashamed of even serving that rubbish.

Fantastic fish and chips. The online order failed for me but just ordered at counter. A great solution during a pandemic, keeping everyone safe.

The chips were not seasoned well. The fish was oily. The kids fish bites were actually rubbish. The fish in the bites had a weird texture. They charged $3 for a sauce (I have never paid more than $2 till date) Will not be going there again.

Chips were very nice, flake was a decent size but very pricey.
I don't appreciate being fibbed to, one of the staff members told me the seafood i.e. Scallops and calamari was "fresh". As I did ask, the scallops sure the heck diddn't taste fresh. Please don't do that, your customers aren't idiots.

The square online ordering website can make it look like you have placed an order but there's a final confirmation button. Make sure you get a sms or email confirming your order.

Three people in front of me threw a tantrum at the girl at the counter because they thought they'd placed an order.

Good fish and chips, nothing fancy or over the top. Generous chips anf flake fillets.

Processed potato cakes - I just can’t stand them and their taste. If it were not for that it would be a 5/5.

Ordered online 2/1/2021 at dinner time. Food was ready right on time and was fabulous. We had whiting, medium chips and dim sims and there was plenty for four of us. Great service on pick up. Home made tartare is very good as well. Will go back whilst in Barwon heads.

Great fish and chip shop. Good portions. Chips didn't have as much salt as usual but the grilled fish was very tasty and fresh! Dim sims tasted very fresh and potentially home made

The shop was closed but still took my order online and my money. When we contacted the owner and they refused to refund me despite knowing they were closed. I have contacted the shop multiple times to follow up about said refund and they were VERY rude on the phone and have not responded to the emails I have sent.

Very ordinary fish. Very dry and terrible batter. He is dead and managed to save the day Jimmy Wong Dim Sims!

So disappointing to see a fellow small business owner choosing not to serve their fellow Victorians. Shame on you!

Way below average. The fish was thin with a non crispy batter whilst the chips were overcooked and clearly brought in preprepared, didn't taste like fish and chip shop chips. Overall very disappointing.
