Baro Mediterranean Restaurant Rosebud reviews
53IT WAS SO GOOD. The platter with the dips was to die for I was in love. The chips, fish, pita EVERYTHING was amazing and my friends and i scoffed it down. The waitress was also so sweet and kind and we were able to spilt our bill or we wanted to aswell. It was one of my best restaurants experiences and i would definitely drive down a hour to do it again
Excellent service and spot on with the Adana, I normally don't eat Adana out because my father in law makes the best Adana though this pretty good. Well done keep it up:)
We ordered the grilled prawns but it didn’t come. The mains are good portions and didn’t need the prawns anyway so ended up cancelling it. The kids menu is ok, we ordered fish fingers and chips and chicken nuggets and chips. There was only 3 pieces for each and heaps of fries.
We ordered the vegetarian, presentation was good however. Dalmaties from a can still with the ricewater slime on and falafel from a bag. So for 4 damaties an 4 falafel with one flatbread cut into 4 and some dips we paid 25 bucks. We spoke to waitress who said they were buying all the product in. Just expected better I guess at a "resturant"
Best mediterranean restaurant south of Melbourne. The Cevapi Platter is to die for. Try the mixed platter if you want to get a bit of everything. But, either way, do not forget to get a side order of the Baro salad.
The food at Baro was very very delicious and i will be definitely going back, the young ladie who looked after us and serving our dinner was very polite. Great food Baro. Thanks from Dave and Neil
For starter, we had Turkish bread with 3 very tasty dips. We had Adana and mix lamb and chicken shish and ćevap. The meat is seasoned very well and cooked perfectly. Very tasty. Portion sizes are generous and very well presented. Ended with perfect dessert, baklava!
Late lunch today 16/5/21: brilliant food: a nice wine and the service was very good
Would go again: Turkish food excellent and tasty
Food was YUM! Staff a bit dopey, didnt have my tea, forgot my sugar, no water offered and forgot the cutlery. But will come back for the food
Food and service was absolutely amazing. Meat is some of the best most authentic Turkish style kebab I've ever had.
Felt like I was back in Istanbul.
The ambience was great and I can not wait to come back again.
Ordered lamb and it was awesome! The meal included well grilled lamp chops, vegetable salad and a nice yoghurt sauce. Staff are professional and polite. There are enough parking space around as well. All in all Highly recommended!
Great quality food here. Adana, mixed grill and barramundi was delicious! Definitely try this place out when you're in the area!
Great quality food and service by ChaCha. I highly recommend you eat here based on the service alone.
The Mixed platter with Lamb & Chicken Shush was great but the Mediterranean dumplings were very ordinary!
Baklava was yummy.
Overall the prices were quite reasonable.
Meat is so juicy and flavoursome. The salad, bread and everything you can taste the freshness. And the espresso martini is to die for. Love it?
Not sure if Covid has had an impact on service/food/atmosphere but we had read mixed reviews, heard from friends and decided to give this a try.
For those new to middle eastern/Turkish food I can understand the high rating but must say we were very disappointed in all of the above.
We had an entree of Taboulleh and Vine Leaves - the vine leaves were very cold (usually served mildly warm), bland and lacked the standard accompaniment of yoghurt or similar (not sure that they’re homemade) and the taboulleh was dry without any dressing/seasoning at all.
Adana Kebab was flavourful (hence 2) but came with only one skewer accompanied by some bread and a very small tasteless salad and was the same price as the mixed grill (2 skewers - lamb and chicken) which were lacking in flavour.
We were seated in front of the impressive kitchen which was nice to see but the 2 males cooking didn’t talk to each and were very solemn - it was awkward to watch. The 3 casual staff also lacked basic wait skills.
Not sure what Turkish influenced restaurant doesn’t have a rice/pilaf dish on the menu?
Kebab house across the road is tastier and better value for money if you’re after flavourful meat though they don’t sell the $18 cocktails.
Baro is a nice venue in a nice location and the kitchen is clean and impressive despite the fact they were working in the dark sans lights but for the glow of the heat beads.
We found Baro to be “bizarro” on multiple fronts but perhaps we just picked a bad night.
One vegetarian option. Not home made falafels or dolmades. A meal I have at home all the time. Meat dish was tasty but salads etc were not enjoyed. Disappointing overall. Will not go again unless menu is more creative.
One of the best restaurants I have been to this side of town! Blown away by the food and service! Would highly recommend to anyone willing to try authentic Turkish food.
Fabulous food devine gelati, good gluten free options and takeaway containers compostable. Outside dining was great for families
Ordered the share meat platters, great tasting meat. Two skewers probably not enough, could have done with 2 extra skewers.
