Love this place. Great food done well. Eat here about once a fortnight. Never disappointed. Friendly staff, great chef with a well run kitchen.

Came here for a friends birthday a few nights ago. The Irish manager lady out of the blue told us to leave the waitress alone because “she’s 15 years old”? Not sure what that was about? We questioned them but could not get an answer. In the mean time the “15 year old” was kissing the ADULT bar guy on the neck in the kitchen multiple times while he caressed her intimately. I’m sorry but am I at a restaurant or a clubX 2 minute peep show? Besides that, the chef had absolutely no clue. The chefs, the barman and even the waiters all had a go at cooking the food? I bloody thought I was going to get called up next to have a go. Not only did it take roughly an hour for us to get served our food the chicken was still pink! They offered to cook new skewers but we declined because it took too long as they were cooking each order once at a time. If Gordon Ramsay was there he’d really have a kitchen nightmare!

Delicious and authentic, big serves and very tasty. We had the chicken skewers and the cevapi - both were great!

Truly interesting - and multicultural - restaurant. It looks Italian, is owned by a Turkish, provides Mediterranean dishes (the meats are Halal), had an Irish waitress, and played American Rock-Blues as background music!

I ordered the mixed plate with lamb and chicken shish cooked over the charcoal on long skewers and was blown away. The chicken was good, but the lamb (usually not my favourite, because it can be quite fat) was the most tender, juicy and tasty I ever tasted.

In addition, the owner, knowing that this was my wife's birthday dinner, had arranged a surprise dessert that we won't forget.

Add to this an awesome service that made us felt loved and appreciated and you understand why I gave Baro 5 Stars. Go and check it out yourself!

Entrees arrived and shortly followed by mains which meant not enough space on the table. We had to hold onto plates for the staff while the table was rearranged.

One of the dips tasted a bit funky, made me concerned. My stomach definitely had a difficult time afterwards.

Only two vegetarian options. One of which you couldn’t order that night. We got told things could be made vegan, however this just meant the same vegan dip came out for entrees and mains (so don’t order the three dip bread thing because you can’t have it).

I did like that we didn’t have to wait for food, but the food wasn’t really high quality for the price you pay.

What a delightful experience! We came in not knowing alot about Baro and left talking about our next experience and who we're inviting, the food was on point from the amount to the flavour balances and the service was just as good.

We honestly look forward to coming back

Thank you Baro Team for a wonderful experience.

Great place to have Mediterranean food. We found it while we were driving to Sorrento. The lumb shish we had was amazing. The meat was tender, cooked to perfection. We also their dips of houmus, tzatziki, tabouleh with turkish bread Unfortunately they run out of baklava which we would have loved to try with turkish coffee. We definitely will be back.

Adana Turkey comes to Rosebud. Traditional Adana cooking is very hard to find. Melbourne has Taksim Square Restaurant and Rosebud has Baro. Many others purport to be Adana but these two places are the real thing. Baro is just excellent, food and service. My wife and I with friends ate again at Baro for $30 dollars per head including wine. Yep hard to believe. We had a couple of platters with an extra stick (and we did a bowl of chips which was very Australian) and good wine. Again we left Baro full of food and feeling we had a great meal that was very reasonably priced. To Sum up, great food, great price and great service by the front of house team. Thanks Baro. Delicious food and fantastic location just by the pier! Really good portion sizes and reasonable pricing. The meat was cooked perfectly and the salad was fresh. Loved all the dips. Definitely will be back again if we’re in the area. We got the lamb main and Atlantic salmon main, with an added chicken skewer. For dessert we got the sticky date pudding.

We have been to Baro twice now and found the modern Turkish food to be really good and served quickly after placing an order.
The young staff are polite and looked after us very well.

Food was amazing! Only let down was that the Turkish dumplings had already sold out for the day & we were super keen to try them.

Delicious food 9/10!
Bread and 3 dips is a must 9.5/10
Mixed meats was amazing, salad slightly over seasoned 8.5/10
Apart from some items on the menu not being available and $17 for normal cocktails it was a great night.

Food tastes fine but servings are small.
Meat is adequate and looks great spread out on the large skewer, but accompanying side dishes of small salad, yogurt dip, raw red onion and (economical) Lebanese flat bread with mains are inadequate.
This is where chips make the meal, but you have to order them separately at $8.
This restaurant should be more generous with their ingredients on the plate, as customers have an expectation of Turkish satiety.

Dinner was nice once they found us a table after we booked by phone and got a confirmation email, only to be told we didn't have a booking once arriving, food was good quite pricey for what you actually got (5 little bits of meat on the skewer)
And plates weren't cleaned properly neither was the glasses or cuterly as they either had food particles still on them or not polished.
As for rating 2/5 pretty poor overall

Food is good. Service person should be a polite. When I entered in the restaurant, she was advising the time to leave. It was 12 pm. She was advising harshly that I had to leave by 3 pm. Otherwise, all good.

Baro is undoubtedly the most authentic Turkish restaurant I’ve been to. The boss Oaks (short for Okan) personally cooks over the charcoal for an amazing taste. Highly recommended!

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Here on the peninsula for a holiday, stumbled across this restaurant. Probably the best char grilled prawns I’ve ever had and the chips were addictively good! 100% coming back if I visit the peninsula again!
