Bar Rosella reviews
45Outstanding service - food next level - can’t recommend highly enough. After reading a great recommendation in NZ we were certainly not disappointed. A Great experience all round.
Such a beautiful experience. Authentic food, fantastic wine and friendly service. We will be back!
Save yourself time and try Ladro across the road or literally any restaurant on the street.
3 prawns charged at 44$ with very bland pesto sauce. Half a plate of spaghetti that was overcooked and dry. Pickled sardine was fridge cold and bland. The bread was stale, being served in a paper bag didn't help. Strongly recommend NOT going here.
I've had prawns elsewhere in the area that are much more reasonable. Pickled sardine should be left to room temperature before serving. Why does it matter what I do in my phone while eating? ! That was a rude response. With so little food, it's baffling why the food took such a long time to come!
Loved it here. Great service and great food. Enjoyed the Spaghetti all'Assassina very very much.
Needs work. Food was ok, service was very patchy. And in Melbourne, if you seat bookings outside, and they haven’t elected to sit outside, make sure you at least have heating. It was freezing!
Food was pleasant enough, when we got it (our order was waylaid, it happens, but comping the drink we consumed while waiting the extra time would have been a suitable apology, as we then had to order more to drink with our meal). Falco bread, a decent salad, the carpaccio was good. Eggplant dish delicious. A little heavy on the agrodolce style dressings, the kitchen could ease up on the use of sweet dressings and sauces. But the dishes overall had integrity.
The wine pour was less than standard. Please add a line to the glassware for transparency for staff (especially those with less experience) and punters alike. Added to this, the range of wine by the glass was very limited (only 5). This was even more surprising when we were told we couldn’t purchase a bottle of the wine we had ordered by the glass because they needed the stock for the glass pour. This seems odd, and not standard practice. A nice concept, some great style evident in the interior (linen napkins were gorgeous!), but overall the execution wasn’t there. Fledging days so will give it another go, and hopefully they’ll have found their feet?
We were lucky to get a table as walk ins on a Wednesday night and were seated outside and loved it!
Food was divine and we left our wine choice with Rocco which was a great decision.
The house made mustard was a highlight and the staff a delight can’t wait to go back)
Simple Italian food done well with an excellent wine selection of local and Italian producers. The white anchovies were the perfect starter and the pasta was deliciously comforting. Highly recommend this place!
Amazing food & wine. Great spot. The staff are wonderful - so welcoming & helpful. Thanks again!
One of my new favourite restaurants in Melbourne. Outstanding hospitality from Rocco and the team and the food and wine are first class.a perfect spot for a date, a large group or just a special night for 2 or more.
Service, delivery and communication with the restaurant directly and through MrYum was really easy and friendly. Quality products fresh and delicious food with a real mediterranean taste.
The service was pretty good but not amazing, the wines are a bit overpriced (eg $16 glass of wine when you can buy it in a bottle elsewhere for $22).
But the food. The food was delish. We started off with some amazing bread w olive oil, then a plate of salumi misti. The best thing was the burrata w nduja underneath. Phew! It was spicy? But for people who love a little bit of kick, it was perfect. The burrata tones down the burn anyway.
We shared a swordfish pasta which was delicious and a zucchini and mint salad. Perfect end to a girls night out
Check your bill as they deliberately overcharge. Wines are overpriced for what you get (would have expected better wines for $16 per glass).
Nice selection of wines and Italian products, a bit overpriced. But the owner does not wear the mandatory mask properly, or he does not wear it at all.
This behaviour is very disappointing, given the current covid restrictions. I don’t feel safe.
After lockdown this place was the perfect antidote. Great food, service and wine. Very relaxing atmosphere with just the right amount of people. Thanks for a nice night.
It wasn't that great considering the price. All the dishes we ordered were small portion and a bit average taste. I had 30% discount, but I don't think would come back for full price.
Came here for wine, pleasantly surprised by the amazing food
Great service & ambiance as well
Thank you!
These guys went above and beyond for us yesterday! The food & wine was perfect and we were so appreciative of their hospitality in the Covid World! Keep up the good work & thank you:)
Great Italian wine bar and bistro! Note the name changed from Project 49 to Rosella in March 2020, but the team is the same and the menu now a little more economical. Recommended!
We dined at Project 49 for the first time last night. I cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant. We were served by a lovely guy - Christian, who was generous, knowledgable and did his job beautifully. The food was great - and the wine - oh my, the wine (to die for). We will be going back to Project 49 for certain.
Wow I keep forgetting how good the food is each time we come. Amazing Italian dishes. Such a treat thank you so much.
Beautiful and friendly service too. Can’t wait to come back. We love high quality Italian. Highly recommend
