Ann is a Superstar, leading a fantastic team serving up the best Chinese food in Melbourne. Leans toward more of a western style which is not everyone's preference but certainly is ours and no one does it better than the team at Bamboo House.

If you have children, stay clear of this place. The manager at bamboo house lacks basic manners to treat customers who have been loyal to their place. The woman, who runs the show asked us to “calm our baby” who was hungry and a bit fussy. Then she had issue with him walking and just standing as he wasn’t comfortable in their tiny baby chair. I was standing on his side all this time yet she misbehaved with us by coming at him again and again rudely. It’s not kids friendly place so don’t take your children there. At least I’m not going to.

They were very accommodating for our dietary requirements as my mum wouldn't eat fish and pork and duck. So we had the banquet menu and had some really good food. The service was really good as well.

A fancy Chinese dining experience on Chinatown with a relatively pricy experience.

I came here for a work function and had the banquet. The wait in between dishes is relatively lengthy so expect to be dining for a while if ordering some form of set menu.

The quality of the food is great. For reference we had the xiao long baos, spring rolls, beef wrapped in lettuce, Peking duck, fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and steak. I thought the Peking duck was the highlight dish, especially with the sauce it comes with.

We went to Bamboo House because a friend recommended us to go and I have to say that the food and service was amazing

Oysters, fish and duck was all sensational

The only disappointment was we were too full to try the lamb which apparently is fantastic as well.

Looks like we will have to come back again and try that next time.

Food was good quality. The service was good: less in-your-face than it was years ago, which is a relief.

Unprofessional service, actually quite rude, hence, food quality is below standard. Stale prawn cracker, and even steamed crunchy dish.

Bamboo House is home to the best Peking Duck in Melbourne! Amazing experience, the staff are attentive and accommodating, all the dishes are delicious, and the restaurant caters for families too. This place will be my regular from now on!

The flavours in the food are so amazing, a magical journey for your taste buds. Doesn't matter if you're a local or a visitor you need to eat here!

Loved it, quite small inside though which means the tables are very close. Very good food and service. Not the flower Drum but lovely for a pre Moulin Rouge dinner, only about a ten minute walk to the Regent. Recommend.

Very nice. Great service. Looked after my vegetarian daughter very well, when the rest of us were not vego. Food delicious.

Duck is fine. Xiaolongbao is leaking and the buttons are are soaked by water. Eye fillet with black truffle is not good, 42 dollars. The beef was marinated by soda powder and it lost the original texture, disappointed.
Some waiters were showing cold face. Disgusting.

Top end Chinese cuisine and of course you pay for what you get. Great service and good wine selection. Just tell them to feed you and be surprised with the tremendous range that turns up.

Great food. Not too sweet or salty. Balance of flavour was perfect. Seafood wasn’t over cooked. Star of the evening definitely Peking duck.
