Bamboo House - Northern Chinese Fine Dining Cuisine in Melbourne CBD (Chinatown)

We always seem to end up here when we go to Melbourne and once again it delivered. The Peking Duck is a must try. Highly recommended

Beautiful food, everything in the menu is very well done. It is expensive but it is worthy. Nice service and good atmosphere. Love it!

We had 3 different types of oysters, Peking Duck, Zucchini Flowers stuffed with Prawn meat, Seared Fillet Steak and vegetables with Black Bean

The food at Bamboo House was impressive except for the wontons spending too long the deep fryer! Service could have been a lot sharper and more favourable if not so detached. Also, a restaurant of this calibre should be pouring the wine at the table. The beer was poured however not the wine, it could be anything!

Really nice food is a little pricy, but we are in the heart of China town spot on service. I couldn't fault it definitely worth revisiting

Venue has limited seating, recommend that you book way ahead during weekends. Food was excellent and service was as expected.

Been to lunch at BH on a Friday many times over past 6 years - always excellent! Went last Friday for lunch with a couple of friends and the food was absolutely top notch! It lace was packed and buzzing - service was excellent still. I have dined recently in many other regarded top Chinese Restaurants including Silks, Flower Drum and Chois and I can state categorically that BH is as good and most likely better - amazing and well done! Will be back soon.

The customer service is such an experience. Wonderful staff who take care of everything to ensure you have the best night possible. They are lovely people also. Quick & efficient service. Food was delicious fresh, hot and cooked perfectly. Nice portions of everything.

Came here for my dad’s 60th as my dad is a loyal customer to the restaurant. Not only was the food AMAZING but the service was as well. We ordered soooo many things but the highlights were the scallops with 3 sauces, the san Choi boa and the fact that Anne surprised dad for my birthday with ice cream and strawberries! Anne is such a lovely person, loved the service and the food. Our waitress for the evening was a young girl named Gillian who was such a sweetheart!

Food plentiful but rather bland was a little disappointed.
Staff very friendly and attenuative, service was good.
Unfortunately we were booked in for their first seating's so was very conscious of the time frame no time for relaxing over a drink at the end of the meal.
No fault of the restaurant but would never book again where they have two seating's

Unbelievable great food, Unbelievable the best service I've ever had, 3 times now I've been here over 4 years ever time we come to Melbourne.
We were in the best room in the restaurant, just brilliant

*UPDATED REVIEW* the Peking duck was served lukewarm and chewy on my most recent visit here, and the wonton soup was tasteless. Maybe the kitchen staff have been changed? Very disappointing to see this restaurant’s standard regress. I cannot recommend this place for Peking duck anymore.

Original review: Bamboo House is home to the best Peking Duck in Melbourne! Amazing experience, the staff are attentive and accommodating, all the dishes are delicious, and the restaurant caters for families too. This place will be my regular from now on!

Extremely busy restaurant with great food. Only negative was that we had to wait 25 minutes for our take to be ready after our booking time.

Great food! So delicious. The staff are amazing! They portion the food when a group orders together. A bit pricey for me but the place was buzzing.

Loved our dinner here. Anne the head hostess was amazing and had so much Knowledge. All the staff were sooo attentive and we felt like royalty. Will be going back - food was to die for! Loved the duck, prawns and dumplings.

Always excellent service and some of the best Chinese food in Melbourne. The Peking duck, carved and wrapped in front of you, is excellent. Service is very prompt and courteous with good information on the dishes.

I always go for the duck dishes. The Peking duck is my favourite and the noodles are amazing too
