Ballarat Botanical Gardens reviews
45Impressive trees in the garden but unfortunately was the glasshouse empty, was looking forward to see the Begonia collection.
By far the best Botanical gardens we have seen in the past 10 months of travelling this country. Well done Ballarat!
Dropped by to visit the Gardens. Very well maintained and managed.
There are big beautiful majestic trees, flowers and wide pathways for visitors to walk around and savor the scenery and views. Very relaxing atmosphere with fresh air too.
So far, this is the best botanical gardens that I have the good fortune to visit.
On the opposite side of road is the beautiful lake with black swans and many other species of water fowls.
There is also a cafe too.
Great park the piper restaurant was awesome to. Enjoyed the day visited the Ballarat bonsai society that were exhibiting in the gardens.
Coming from beautiful Hall's Gap to another beautiful relaxing place how lucky to live in Victoria for these lovely places to visit.
But I did take my life into my hands to travel by car to get there with the state of the terrible, terrible roads
Beautiful place to visit if you like walking 7k to go around the lake then you have the tram and restaurants around
Amazin garden with so many tree verity. Also the other best thing here to watch prime minister avenue. You will find history of all Australia pm's. Hoticulter was closed on Sunday so missed that. Toilets are clean and neat.
Absolutely beautiful gardens, just love the hothouse and even purchased a few plants - wonderful day trip from Melbourne
Absolutely stunning during autumn! The garden is simply beautiful with perfect colours and lots of points of interesting within to see.
Parking is very accessible, and there are clean toilet facilities within the botanical gardens. There are also plenty of places for a picnic, and there's a few benches scattered around.
Dogs are allowed in the gardens too which is great, but they must be kept on a leash.
Idyllic place for an autumn picnic with family. Beautiful scenery and lake, great adventure playground, heritage tram rides thanks to the excellent tramway museum. Swans are very friendly, please be nice to them!
We went during Autumn season and it was just perfect.
Beautiful and massive botanical garden.
Lots of things to see.
Parking is easily accessible.
Toilets are very clean.
There is a lot of places where you could sit and eat in front of the lake.
The gardens are beautiful and walking around the lake watching the swans is such a relaxing day.
Beautiful! A few things were roped off for works which was a bit disappointing but it has to happen at some stage, I suppose.
Great garden and kids park, whether it is having a barbecue or picnic, letting the kids play in the playground, feeding the swans or ducks, there's a lot of great things to like about this place, old school tram rides on only remaining tram in the city or visiting the glass house
We wandered around the gardens for a couple of hours on a weekday afternoon. Nice atrium and historical cottage (not open during our visit). Line of redwoods was beautiful. Armed services memorial up the far end is worth the walk, the gardens here are stunning, so colourful, pretty and always well looked after.so relaxing and a great place to visit.
Very nice.good sculptures on display.great hot house. If is more focused on select lines of plants that an overall botanical garden
Woohoo, beautiful space to relax. Nice in summer. Go to the busts of Australia's prime ministers and tell them to their faces what you really think of them.
This place seems to be currently undergoing some renovation. Its a nice stroll and the green house is a great place to chill out with a coffee. Its in a prime location with water frontage, the tram that does the lake loop and a fantastic playground basically across the road.
Very pretty place to visit, well worth a look, a bit cold during winter months, but in spring, summer + autumn, would be the better time to check it out
