Aura on Flinders

Room was nice, but there just seems to be missing some polish, such as a fresh lick of paint on the bathroom door or rails that don't wobble.
Staff at reception were efficient, that's for sure.
Location is good for Southern Cross Station and trams.
I booked during the Australian Open, so rooms were way too expensive for what you got, but, beggars can't be choosers.

We go to Melbourne every year and in so many years this was THE WORST EXPERIENCE.
1. First of all it is not on Flinders- it is on a side street.
2. Unwelcoming staff on the reception
3. No on-site parking.
4. If you are a fan of airy, spacious, clean corridors then this is not a place for you. Right from the start to lift and then to the rooms it is dark, gloomy, smelly and you will feel depressed.
5. Rooms are the biggest surprises- you won’t get what you booked for by looking at the pictures.
You will be be greeted by an overwhelming stench of cigarette smoke.
Dirty toilet, smelly dishwasher, unclean cutlery with greasy marks, cushions with an unpleasant smell, fluff and food spill marks. Same was the couch. Whole appartment was like a cave.
If you keep your house clean you will definitely not like it.
We were so tired after the long journey but kids denied to step in or to use the bathroom.
We went downstairs to talk to the manager to find a solution.
THERE WERE 2 OTHER FAMILIES WITH SAME ISSUE
Two “gentlemen” on the reception were incredibly rude to everyone. They were not at all listening to people with issues. Wotif and Airbnb were trying to contact them so they can cancel our reservation therefore we could a get refund. The receptionists were not attending their calls on purpose.
We struggled for 3 hours to get everything sorted out.
I definitely would NOT recommend this hotel.

The lobby was dark. The room was cold and there was a cold wind coming in from under the door to the balcony. The air conditioner took 3/4 hr to heat. The female receptionist was friendly and professional but the young male receptionist was arrogant and demeaning. The car park was so small it was almost impossible to park. There were no benches in the bathroom on which to put my bathroom items. The shower was cold. The only half decent thing was the bed. Lastly there was a strange somewhat offensive smell lingering on the level I was on.

But the car park is really cramped and never recommended to take car.whn check out the car lift stopped and had to go through a tunnel like corner, I damaged my car.very very bad engineered the builder really lost the plot, never take ur car it's horrible

I stayed for one night with my 5 and 7 year old girls and we had a great time. Great location, close to everything, accomodating and friendly staff and excellent room and amenities. And what a view!

Dirty and wrong room. Every thing needs a paint. Don’t book place here go to Bette replace dum

Location was fantastic as it was right across the Melbourne aquarium which was the main reason we went to visit the city. The view from our 2 bedroom standard apartment with a balcony looking out to the city was fantastic as you get to see the south of the city with the river, Crown Casino and promenade.
I would also commend our 2 bedroom apartment as spacious for what we are after, which we only stayed one night especially with the extra bed arranged in the living room.

I was disappointed with the overall cleanliness of the place. For what we paid, I expected a top notch clean apartment which should be a norm regardless its a 2 star or a 5 star accommodation.
- In the bathroom, finding mould between tiles and grout which can easily be resolved with proper regular cleaning as well as cobwebs and dust gathered in corners on the floor
- windows and glass sliding door leading out to the balcony all needed a clean as can see marks and smears which deterred the overall experience as soon as we walked into the apartment looking out to the city.
- asking guests at checkout to take their rubbish out and any recycling to be taken down to reception was not a good experience.

The lady in the front reception during checkout was unfriendly and unwelcoming. After standing in front for some time, I had to go over to the side of the desk so that I can be served which defeated the purpose of having the Perspex barrier on the front counter between staff and clients for minimizing covid. Understand that staff can be busy but need to be aware of guests around her and acknowledge their presence. However, I had a good customer experience during check-in I must say.

And agree with other comments, guests shouldn't be bribed to give 10/10 reviews. Brochure in rooms include instructions for guests to leave 10/10 reviews to earn yourself a $10 Coles giftcard felt cheap and forced.

If you enjoy filthy dirty rooms and mould in the showers, this is your place! Utterly disgusting but staff were very accommodating which got them the 2 stars.

Views were amazing! Facilities were great, room was nice and clean and location was perfect. Couldn’t ask for better value for money.

Good value for money. Arrived early and could leave our bags until the room was ready. Clean room, close to town. They called a cab for us when we were leaving. Would stay again. Thanks

Very unclean establishment with deceptive rooms, single beds pushed together to resemble a double, exposed blankets dressed with nothing but a overlapping sheet and ementities outdated from the early 2000s. Wipe your fingers across any service and you will have your skin coated in dirt and dust. Very disappointed and will never return.

The rooms are very tired, single beds only 1 foot high off the floor and all the walls are banged up and ready for painting.

To top it off they offer to pay you $10 to give them a 5star rating. Very poor ethics.
Invest the $10 in your product rather than bribing people.

Not sure where to start. The view was good. They haven’t heard of gumption, the room wasn’t clean. The windows were disgusting. Carpet wasn’t vacuumed. There were no toiletries. We tried to call downstairs to request some but room phone doesn’t work you have to use your own phone. Not sure how that is safe. We went down stairs with our concerns and they said they would clean the room the following day. Well that didn’t happen. The carpet on the 12th floor is a trip hazard. If I was the owner of room 1204 I would be disappointed. Most of the time reception were on their mobile phones. They gave a second key which was useless as it only opened the room, couldn’t access the building or the lift with it. I could have taken so many more photos showing the uncleanliness. Check out was good they held our bags till we needed to go to the airport.

Probably the most dirty hotel I have stayed in. Hotel is worn out, there is dirt everywhere (carpets, bathroom, kitchen, hair, dust and food crumbs on the floors) - I changed room twice - all 3 rooms were dirty. I asked for a cleaning of the room but all that was done was a change of towels. I cannot recommend. Except for a young man who was friendly, staff in reception was indifferent.
I should have read reviews because many previous travellers have also commented on how filthy this hotel is.
The hotel is right across from the railway and very noisy.
I felt cheated for my money.
Also, please note that you cannot trust good ratings from this hotel. The hotel wrote to me to inform that "Guests who leave 10/10 with their full name also enter our exclusive thank you program, with a generous discount for your next stay"! Not that I would ever want to stay there again.

Awful experience. Our 2 bedroom family apartment was filthy, holes in plaster walls patched up with A4 paper and sticky tape, broken shower and towel rails, washing machine and dryer that didn't work, unhelpful and unfriendly staff. The local backpackers hostel would have been cleaner. Upon trying to discuss this with the staff, I was offered a discount on my next stay upon leaving a positive review

Room was not clean, previous guests food/medications left in fridge and someone's shoes under bed. Mattresses/protectors had pee stains all over them. Appartment not serviced at all, needed to ask for new towels each day and ended up with 3 days worth in bathroom. Kitchen tap about to fall off it was so loose. Apartment is tiny in size. Wharehouse space accross lane rents out as a nightclub so screaming people till 3 am does not make a restfull sleep. Don't let the photos fool you this place was disgusting!

Absolutely Filthy
The carpet completely covered in white stains, doesn’t look like they have ever deep cleaned the room,
Found a pair of underwear behind the couch! So it definitely proves that they don’t care about the up keep of the rooms. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting.
The dryer didn’t work, the dishwasher didn’t turn on and it smelt like rotten fish!
The aircon remote needed new batteries and the couch was worn, holes in it and was very dirty as well. Half a roll of toilet paper to last two nights with a family of 4

Highly don’t recommend this place. I felt so dirty staying in the apartment.

We group booked 3 rooms, of which only one (2bdr apartment) was cleaned ok. The worst room had a very strong urine smell (think aged care facility) and when we asked for a change of room the staff agreed it was bad and sprayed some air freshener around. We demanded a relocation to another room the next day which was granted. Location is good however I would not book here again.

Aura On Flinders is one my favourite places to stay in Melbourne. It comes with lovely hosts and reception, modern rooms with cooking appliances. A well put together gym
And is close to everything you need.oh yeh and you even get complimentary slippers!
