65Coffee decent but food average. Bennie was too Salty and as a foodie, the food must have levels of taste/ Texture. Just lacked this. Chefs/ cooks please eat your own food to see if it's still the standards vs costs
They've got some good food and decent specials, just don't get the beef burger. Couldn't believe it was burnt, dry, and lifeless. Get better from the fish n chips and without the $23 tag
Nothing too special about this brunch place, except maybe the cool building it's in. Other than that, it's just your typical brunch place. Food was average, nothing memorable. Coffee was decent. Overall, just average.
I absolutely loved the brisket eggs benny-their namesake dish. Definitely recommend it if you're there for breakfast/brunch!
I came here on two occasions.
The first time I ordered the chorizo egg scramble which I highly recommend. Delicious, good portion size and unique to other cafes. The iced matcha was really good too. The cafe ambience was nice and the design aesthetic. Would highly recommend.
Second time here, we enjoyed the chorizo egg scramble, falafels, iced matcha and coffee. The coffee is really good. The prawn special was slightly undercooked and lacking in a little flavour though. Public holiday surcharge (18%) was also quite high.
Whilst on the pricier side, it's a place that never disappoints. Front of house friendly and accurate with estimates about wait times.
Great place and fantastic service. Really enjoyed the coffee selection.
The ambiance is excellent, especially the courtyard. The place is usually busy on Saturdays, definitely worth the wait.
Highly recommend.
I have been there for many times with my friends. The food here never let me down. You can see the pics, I’m the big fan of corned beef hash of this restaurant.
Food was good - service was smarmy then they apply a surcharge for weekends! Not just PH but weekends! Also they DO NOT disclose this till you’re ready to pay - according to the server as we were paying our bill (a bill that didn’t make sense coz we’d worked out cost as per the menu), the staff are paid more Sat& Sun - yeah and? ! Wages are an overhead that you factor in when u decide what to charge for food, bevvies etc these geniuses don’t seem to understand how businesses are run - twits! Voting w my feet NEVER AGAIN
Beautiful rustic ambience, very friendly staff and decent food. I loved my strong (colombian) almond latte, will come back again soon!
Had the gnocchi and my partner had the barramundi. It was so filling and fresh, definitely worth the money. It was pretty busy but we were looked after promptly. We will be coming back!
Everything about this place is beautiful. Coffee, service, and food were all above average (and we dine out quite a bit!).
Thanks for the stellar service and stellar products Auction Rooms! Will continue to return.
Absolute not recommended
As an experienced foodie I have tried so many brunch in Melbourne area, we have ordered burger and poke bowl today, to be honest the burger is just above average, but the poke bowl is something really hard to describe, the cafe charged over 20 dollars with a bowl that only has several small pieces of salmon with the equal portion of one piece sashimi, and also the taste of it is definitely below average, I can order a bigger better poke bowl in a lot of restaurants in Melbourne on delivery platform, this poke bowl is really kind of disaster to me, really disappointed and never come back, hope you guys could really rethink about this dish on the menu!
I come here usually a couple times a week at least, and I’ve honestly never been disappointed in the slightest. Consistently top-tier coffee no matter what you get and always amazing food. This place is a true Melbourne institution.
Staff overwhelmed by number of guests, had to remind waitperson (s) 3 times that we were waiting for a coffee. Very buzzy and trendy
Last time visited place only for coffee and kitchen was closed. This time we were just at the rigtt time. Wait could beong on weekends so prepare yourself. French toast with caramelized banana and bourbon (yes read it right) whipped cream and walnuts. Mate ordered scrabbled egge on sourdough toast. Another was a modified version of shakshuka which was also satisfying. Coffee was OK. A well lit exposed brick ambience awaits you.
Very average. I got poached eggs on toast, with a side of avocado. The side of a avocado was tiny, and it's meant to come with goats cheese, well it was a tiny blob about 1.5cm in diameter. I could eat it in 1 bite. The side was $6, total rip off! Toast was extremely hard to cut until I asked for a sharp knife.
My fiance got the breakfast board which was so much better. Choose a special or the breakfast board.
Great place for a cup of coffee. Quality coffee beans and professional presentation. Liked the courtyard a lot.
As a tip, when you order coffee and sweets and you want them to be served the same time - mention it to the staff. It does take time for coffee to be ready.
Amazing vibe. Cool staff. Creative food. A fantastic place to enjoy a good coffee and meal with family and friends.
One of the best places for brunch in Melbourne. Make sure to get there early to beat the crowd on weekends, and try their homemade lemon and ginger herbal as well as their chilaquiles which would make any Mexican restaurant jealous
