We have used A/P Shutters twice now following a recommendation from a friend. They have done a fantastic job installing plantation shutters in most windows of our 1910 Edwardian-style house in Elsternwick. Really happy with the service and workmanship - even working with windows which are not square by any stretch! We wish we installed shutters earlier and would highly recommend A/P Shutters to others.

This is the second time we have used Shades. Last time was for plantation shutters, cedar blinds and an external awning. We were very happy with the result. We sold that house and have just moved into a new apartment this month.

This time we chose Shades for roller blinds for all our windows. From the showroom and office staff to the measure and installation team, we were impressed by their knowledge, experience and friendliness.

There was a slight hitch when the wrong brackets were delivered but the office staff arranged replacements straight away and Ben did a great job of installation.

We used Shades in Hawthorn for our new curtains following a renovation of our apartment. Maddy, Ben and the team have been thoroughly professional, accommodating and flexible throughout. We are absolutely delighted with the end product and we recommend them to anyone!

We ordered aluminium shutters for an outdoor pergola from Shades in Hawthorn and they turned out fantastic. The sales team provided all the info on the various options, and the quality was great. The installer was extremely professional, fitted and finished the job extremely well (even working around pergola openings that weren't square).

We have dealt with Shades of Hawthorn for 20 years. We don't bother going anywhere else. The business has proved itself time and time again delivering a high quality window furnishing product for our home. They've even replaced a broken slat in one of our shutters. (They keep every window measurement on file for such things).

Recently we had large curtains made. Besides being functional, they are superb. The making of, fabric quality and colour are wonderful. We were advised very well. I loved the relaxed showroom where you can browse through fabric and colour options. They had every facet of their vast range on display. The installation was highly professional.

I remind anyone that quality does cost more and have seen nightmares when friends have gone for the cheaper quote. The materials and making of the product are sub standard and don't last.

After 20 years our shutters have never needed any maintenance except a dust. They haven't faded etc, and look as fresh as the day they were installed.

If you want something special with regard to window furnishings or outdoor shade etc, I'd recommend Shades.

I recently had two double blinds and 3 sets of shutters installed on my windows/doors. I did my research and shades came out on top. They represented the best value for money and I wasn't disappointed - they were professional, communicative and prompt the whole way through - perhaps the benefit of a smaller operation. Another supplier I looked at had the cheapest quote, but they went into administration (lucky I didn't go with them - beware of too cheap!). One other supplier was around the same and the fourth was a lot more expensive. Photos don't do the installation justice because of the light coming through the windows! Highly recommend.
