What a wonderful and comfortable place for alterations, tailoring and dry cleaning. The staff here are so friendly. As a person living with a condition of dwarfism, I have to get the majority of my clothes altered. I’ve been to many, many places and this is my favourite by far. Dipika was responsible for altering my wedding dress recently. Her professionalism and attention to detail were exceptional. She altered my dress perfectly. It wasn’t an easy job due the amount of detail in the dress but the finished product looked like it was tailor made just for me. Dipika’s knowledge of style is very unique and I highly value her opinion each time I visit.

Dipika is a miracle worker-I feel in love with a gorgeous vintage wool dress I found at a market and bought it without trying it on. It was much too tight; I couldn't even do the zip up. Dipika worked her usual magic and now I have a winter dress perfectly tailored to my shape, for a fraction of the cost of an inferior new one.

The team at Alter It in Richmond are great, in particular Dipika who has looked after me with all my many tasks, whether it be mending or creating, coming up with the best solutions and quality work.
I own a top quality Elna Sewing machine, but do not use it since finding Dipika at Alter It Richmond!
Her work is perfection, the best customer service (may I add I have been in retail for 50 years and customer service is most important and alas today rare to find!)

Excellent customer service, was very happy with the alterations made for my partner's wedding suit, and the dry cleaning for my wedding dress. Highly recommended!

I have been frequenting the Richmond store for a few years now and have had consistently good experiences.
Most of my alterations have been fairly straightforward. But I have also had two major dress alterations done by dressmaker Dipika. Both were unwearable to begin with and the outcomes far exceeded my expectations. The latest alteration was practically a complete remake. Besides being highly skilled, Dipika took time and care to go over the options and encouraged me to carefully consider whether I should go ahead. She gave great advice, took my suggestions and preferences on board while being absolutely clear about what was achievable and also suggested a fitting before finalising the changes.
(On a side note, I was initially unsure if I should go ahead but another customer's random remarks at the counter swayed me, so I told her I'd name the dress after her if it worked out. If she happens to see this, my 'Sally' dress turned out great and I love it!)
Besides these specific instances, my other experiences at this store have been very good (which is why my husband and I keep returning and now know all the staff by name).

I went there this morning in order to get a very important teddy bear fixed, and Dipika did not disappoint. Dipika was extremely friendly, professional and explained all the options to get my VIB (very important bear) mended, and was ready for pickup in only a couple of hours! Lovely customer service, excellent skills. Will definately be back.

Friendly service, went in to get measurements done for suits, they didn't turn out to be accurate and had to get them re done.

Had a dress taken in - way too far (beyond what was pinned). When I questioned it they said it was because I put on weight! It's just disappointing when you think you are trusting professionals and they don't look after your things.
