Alter It Richmond reviews
50 I took a sport rain jacket to have a zip replaced, i provided flexibility and was told it would be ready after a week and was quoted a price range. 5 weeks later I go and collect the jacket and firstly I get an invoice of double the price i was quoted which was never confirmed or accepted by me and secondly the job done is really of poor quality. The zip is shorter than than the previous, doesn’t go along the full length of the jacket and of very poor quality. First and last time I will visit this place.
Update: a week later and the stitching is coming undone
I was riding passed the place with my cycling gloves. There was a torn stitch on one of the gloves. The lady fixed that in no time wishing me a good day. They made my day! Wonderful service! I recommend it!
I came in extremely last minute while on holiday to get my jacket fixed; near the pocket had ripped very badly. Not only did my jacket get done within two hours, it is the most INCREDIBLE job! You can’t even see that there was ever a huge tear.
I am so grateful as it’s my favourite jacket.
Thank you so much!
I came and got my wedding dress altered by Dipika and she was an angel. Absolute lifesaver. We made about 3-4 alterations to my wedding dress - she was so generous with her time. Most importantly, she was so calm, creative and professional. Even though Plan A didn't work, we played around with plan B and C, and eventually settled on a cut that i felt very comfortable with and was flattering on my body. I really want to thank you Dipika for your kindness and reliability. I will definitely be back - now i can relax and look forward to the wedding!
Dianna is a very skilled tailor and I appreciate her neat and efficient work! The service was excellent and the I was really happy with the results. I came in with a ripped bag and left with a big smile. Thank you so much!
Have been my go to for a few years living in the area, and every experience has been really positive. Work is completed fast and of high quality, pricing is fair and customer service from this family owned business is excellent too. Thanks team keep up the great work
I would like to thank Dipika for her amazing service and wonderful work on my bridesmaids dress. I was super stressed about getting my dress altered in case the alterations didn’t go well and ruined the dress (I had no back up option!). As soon as I walked in to Alter it my mind was put at ease with your reassurance and professionalism. Needless to say I was so happy when I saw the end result. Dipika had done an amazing job in adding a few extra centimetres around the waist, you can barely even see the alteration! And the price charged was extremely fair.
Thank you Dipika! I will be sure to recommend you and Alter it Richmond to friends and family
Brought in a jumper today with a broken zipper. The cost to replace with a new zipper was too high but as I was talking to Diana, she pulled out some pliers and fixed the old zipper on the spot with no charge. Very happy!
Very careless, messy alterations. I took several pairs of pants to have the rise shortened, and they have sewed the waistband back unevenly and the elastic of the wasitband won't sit flat. Looks like they did a rush job without any care. Will be taking my business elsewhere.
Asked for my Levi 501s to be hemmed with the original hem, but when I picked them up, they'd been given a new hem, i.e. The original was thrown away! Key detail of any denim alteration is for this hem to remain as a feature. Also conceals the fact that the jeans have been taken up. Really can't stand the way it looks now and going to ask for my money back. Maybe I should ask them to pay for a new pair of jeans, too. Grrrr.
Customer service is extremely disappointing. Was told I could pick my items up on Thursday, so I rushed home from work trying to get there as fast as possible before the shop closed at 6pm. I made a call to let them know I was on my way and I would be arriving a couple minutes before 6pm. The woman who answered made it extremely clear that the moment it turned 6pm she was leaving. She was very blunt and unsympathetic. I arrived at the shop at 5: 59pm to find the doors were locked. Even after informing the woman on the phone I'd be there a just before 6pm, she still decided to leave a minute before. Very disappointed as the reason I wanted these items fixed was so I could take them away with me tomorrow. Now I have to wait another week. I was also quoted $15 to fix a 4cm rip of a back of a thin dress. After making a comment she agreed to go down to $10. Quite expensive and disappointing customer service. Will be going else where next time.
I came to Alter It with a leather jacket that had a bunch of problems (worn out / broken zipper etc). I wasn't sure they'd be able to fix it. In the end, Dipika was able to fix everything for a great price. She was very thoughtful about how she got the job done and punctual, too. I really appreciated how much care and attention she put into doing a top notch job! She's a real professional.
I have been here twice. The older lady is so unfriendly. And twice they have not done a great job. Don't go there
Amazing work! I had an old, favourite leather jacket relined. The quality is excellent, and they even restitched the old labels into the new lining! Thanks!
I highly recommend Alter It. I am very fussy and my clothes are top very expensive labels. Dipika is such a pleasure to work with. She understands fit so well and her work is absolute perfection.
I’ve had two expensive, leather garments altered here, a skirt shortened and a dress taken out — both items exceeded all my expectations! The ladies at Alter It Richmond are always lovely, honest and professional. They really know what they’re doing and work with you and your requirements to get the best outcome. Highly recommend, please don’t think that just because they’re part of a franchise, that you won’t get expert level care.
Diana was amazing, let out a dress that was too small for me, now it is absolutely perfect. The dress was a Ellie Zeitoune lace Dominique dress, and linen panels were added in. Perfect. And on top of that helped me create a chiffon modesty panel.thank you!
Fantastic service! They could have charged me heaps to replace a zip but just fixed it on the spot with a spare piece. Definitely recommend!
Staff seemed pretty unfriendly. I appreciate a no nonsense attitude but this was a bit too no nonsense that it came off a bit rude and has made me speculate their ability to "Alter" clothing. Seems like a place for getting super easy fixes done but not sure about more complicated work.
Fantastic service and work. Came in Sunday morning for an alteration to a pair of suit pants, hoping they could compyete it before close of business as I was flying interstate Monday morning. Pants adjusted and picked up by 3pm. Thanks again for the fantastic effort.
