Alfa Bakehouse reviews
69Amazing food, ex-malama cake Owners.been in the area for 40years, family business run, food is amazing!
Impressed by the food and the service times considering it was busy.
Chris had a rock star there in Dion. Keep up the good work.
Best cafe in Yarraville. AMAZING food and drinks, great outdoor area, right next to Yarraville Station and Anderson Street. Awesome service and very fast, also has toilets. If your in the area this is worth checking out.
The breakfast i ordered was delicious. The only reason why I'm giving this four stars and not five is because the bread was over toasted, and I couldn't use a knife and fork to cut it.
I heard good things, but was treated very badly and rudely and ended up leaving. Didn't get to try the food and the outdoor seating area was nice so I'll be extremely generous by leaving 3 stars. Very rude though.
Love the food, love the juices, love the staff! I feel like I step into a family’s home every time I go there!
Great atmosphere outside dinning under trees great service from friendly staff. A must try the big Alpha breakfast for brunch
Great bakery Cafe, the cakes, dainishes, coffee, and most importantly the big breakfast. I love it generous in serving and totally delicious and you are not hungry after it. The food is of very high standard and the coffee is very good too.
My wife ordered a birthday cake for me one month ahead of my actual event with 40 attendees. Went back two days prior to the day to check all was ok. Confirmed, yes it was. She went down on Saturday to pick up for the party that evening and was given a cake that was totally different to that ordered. Was a standard sized cake suitable fo 6 to 8 people.
To be fair - the woman serving was very apologetic and talked to the bakehouse. She was the same woman who my wife had spoken to days before. She said that something had happened in the system such that the order details were changed from a special cake - to one of their stock cakes. My wife came home so upset. A real downer for the night. I mentioned it in my speech, and we will not be buying from Alfa again.
We ordered Cypriot Almond biscuits/ Macaroons for our Christening. Delicious is an understatement. To the team @ Alfa Bakehouse Thank you! Presentation, Service, Quality and hands down, the best Bakehouse in Melbourne for sure!
I ordered 60 almond chocolate filled macaroons wooow I could not be happier!
Thankyou so much keep up the great work.
Highly recommend
Fantastic to sit outside under the gorgeous plain trees in the small Yarraville park (just next to the train station) and enjoy a sandwich or full meal. Both Seddon & Yarraville cafes are worth a visit.
I don't often visit Alfa at Yarraville - but each time I do I think 'Great value and service'. Last Saturday it was my grandson's birthday and despite the challenges for these small businesses they have survived and still thrive.
Lovely service, outdoor seating area surrounded by beautiful trees. Great coffee and the cherry choc slice I had was yum:) thank you. Hope to be back some day
We didn't eat here. We walked past the front of the shop at around 6.45pm this evening when the manager/owner? (Tall, skinny, older blonde woman) was closing shop after the Yarraville festival. Without looking to see if anyone was on the footpath, her and a staff a member pushed heavy cart up the ramp from on the road up onto the footpath.
We were being mindful and gave her right of way as we were in no hurry, and it looked like they wanted to get it in the shop asap.
Without any warning, she shouted "Go! " at us (a simple "you can pass" would have sufficed. By the look on her face immediately afterwards, it was clear she was it was a mistake, but no apology ensued. Instead she looked over at her staff member and chuckled in embarrassment. It was just a very awkward and uncomfortable encounter for all involved.
If this is the way she treats people walking by on the street, it makes you wonder how she treats her staff behind the scenes.
I miss the days this place was actually a bakery that made their own stuff. Now it's kind of a restaurant, but kind of not, and everything bakery related is ordered in from suppliers. It's an odd mix that I don't love.
Reliable cafe with a lot of food options and an outdoor area at the back facing the train station, can't miss it when you get off trains coming from the city
It was my first time eating at Alfa Bakehouse and my experience was a 10 out of 10. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly, especially the manager who helped me with the menu, giving me suggestions on what to order. I'll definitely be back!
They have good tea here and the muffins are excellent. Good toasties with sourdough on request. They can get very busy so finding a table can be tricky at times but I have found the service to be quite fast.
One of my favourite cafes in Yarraville. Always great coffee, food is always great, it is even better with the new menu, service always spot on. Can’t fault it. They always accomodate my children and the pram
I’m always pushing around! Thank you.
