Afghan Village Restaurant reviews
55 I paid $18 per main dish (2 in totoal) only to receive 2 tiny containers of food, and 2 giant containers of rice.
The tast was very average, I'm not sure if they bothced my order but I will not be coming here again.
Great food, heaps of vegetarian options. You leave feeling satisfied and deserts worth a try too.great service from the young gent waiter, will come back.
My mum and I dined here last night after the passing of her father. It was quiet and cozy, and the music was lovely and the perfect volume - it was the perfect setting for a hard day after a number of hard days and weeks. Phenomenal food and wine as always. Pasha, our waiter, could not have been any better - his compassion and care for us throughout the evening is truly appreciated. He kindly brought us a complementary dessert for our grief, and gave us a hug at the end of the evening and wished us the best going forward. Thank you to Pasha and the kitchen for looking after us so well - it was the perfect end to a long and exhausting day and something we will remember of this time in our lives.
Great people, great food and a great atmosphere there. Glad I went there with all my friends together.:)
There’s this hot server with curly who loves minecraft and served great food with a great smile: DD
The service from our waiter was great, but the food was so disappointing. The dumplings for our entree were OK - a good texture but didn't have much flavour. The mains (a cauliflower dish and the kofta) were not good - cauliflower was mushy and both were in tasteless sauces. The naan was dry and tough. I felt that the dishes were really overpriced for what they were - I think the cauliflower was about $21 for a tiny bowl of mush. Sorry guys, service was good and I did like the wine selection but I left hungry.
The food, decore and ambience was excellent. Loved every moment of it. Will definitely be back.
Delicious and consistently mouth watering. Love the meatball korma but you really can't go wrong no matter what you order.
Amazing place love going there for any occasion, the food is amazing and the ambient extraordinary
Authentic Afghanistan food, I have been coming here for 20 years with my family and friends, every time I introduce a new family to meet Monir, he makes sure that everyone feels welcome and totally indulged in delicious
home style Afghan dishes. A guaranteed crowd pleaser is to start with the mixed chefs selection.
Loved the tea and my lamb korma. Now a special place for me, a night I will never forget. Till next time.
This place is like you're visiting family in the way you are greeted, treated and fed. I guess it's the reason they have been operating for so long. The food is holesome, authentic and delicious
Tasty starters, interesting variety with influences from both india & eastern Europe. Very easy to digest, without the heaviness you might assume. Well go back!
Amazing restaurant, never disappoints. Service is 5 star, food is 5 star, they put up with uber eats! It’s a real hidden gem in camberwell ️️️
Went there for our anniversary dinner by looking at the rating. It is by far the worst Afghani food we ever had! Very small serve (Half the size of other Afghani restaurants) but the price is twice as much compared to other places. We ordered Chicken Korma which did not even taste anything close to Chicken Korma and my partner ordered Bourani Badenjoun which was not even close either. Bourani Badenjoun was completely burned (overcooked by far). You go to any Afghani Restaurant and order a meal, you will get salad on the side (included in the price) but this restaurant. You go to any Afghani restaurant and order Bourani Badenjoun, you will get bread included BUT this restaurant sells at extra. Not sure how you are supposed to eat it without bread.
I gave feedback to the staff and his answer was "This is Camberwell, not Dandenong. We are the highest rated Afghani Restaurant in Australia".
For people who have only tried this Afghani restaurant and rated, i recommend them to visit another Afghani restaurant.
It is not even worth half the price!
