What a great place for exhibitions on screen culture. We attended the Disney Magic of Animation and found the premises were clean, well set out and had very helpful staff. The souvenir shop was so much fun and very reasonable prices for our purchases. Again the staff were friendly and helpful. There were lots of different exhibitions on, one was even free. Transport at the door by tram and close to flinders station makes it easy to find.

A very informative and interactive look at the history of film, TV and video games. Definitely worth the effort. Best of all, it's free, so a very affordable few hours.

I love the new look of ACMI but I found the Disney animation exhibition a bit underwhelming. Nothing interactive. Just screens, photos and information boards. No wow factor for me. Just my opinion.

The Disney art and animation history was amazing. Relive the memories of Disney film from 1937 to 2019, some short snippets of moving film demonstrating techniques, but probably boring for the very young, under 8 years.

Went during the Disney experience exhibition - a little pricey but very entertaining, educational and a little nostalgic if that's your thing then I'd definitely recommend!

This place is awesome! If you are in town with time to burn, this is a must for all ages. Absolutely well thought out exhibition with so much to engage with. You could spend literally hours in there learning, watching and interacting with the displays. Something for everyone!

Went to ACMI for the recent Disney event and it was really well done!
Despite the recent rona outbreak, ACMI was very good at remaining safe and clean

I like the whole museum
I like how they renovated it and I like how they give you a card so scan items with it

Amazing range of artefacts from early cinema techniques (eg zoetropes) and early Australian television/cinema, plus curated video games that offer an alternative approach to that medium, plus screens films, has a cute shop, friendly and enthusiastic staff. Toilets are clean and on multiple levels, plus theres also an area to sit if youre like us and find the displays to be a bit overstimulating. In the past theyve also run select sessions of exhibitions for folx who want or need to avoid too much stimulation (decreased lighting effects movement, and audio). We went today to see a Disney exhibit that had concept art, storyboarding, behind the scenes looks and video from 1937 up to 2021. It was a well paced exhibit:)

The art display from Disney was absolutely incredible. Especially the detail in the hand drawings from the 1930's. My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves. It was busy, that's to be expected on a weekend.

A beautiful visual gallery with clean spaces, a café and gift shop. Friendly and helpful staff, coat room was free which was lovely, and the space is always being brought to life with new art and projects. Currently on is Disney at ACMI.

Amazing museum for fan movies and video games! I loved the Cup Head exposition, was an incredible experience I want to play the game again! The good thing is the entry to the museum is free.

After the renewal it became much better, a lot of interesting things interactive, and many things to explore. A good design and improvements overall and also added a feature to collect something you interest and then see it back home for more details. Free entry as well!

Absolutely love the renovations, last time I was here was for the Tim Burton exhibit and it’s completely different and modern!

The Disney Animation exhibit is an absolute must see for anyone that loves Disney as it has such incredible original Disney pieces from the 30s!

The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Interesting as usual.
The new exhibition has missed the brief on interactive activities for kids.

ACMI is a wonderful interactive centre fit for all ages.

For the adults, you get to go through the history of media and how it has evolved and how it can still continue to change.

For the teenagers or young adults, I highly recommend you go into the 'sensation' section of the ACMI exhibition as there are a lot of fun activities to do there. You get to make shadow images of yourself, sound effects of movie screens and many more!

This is also great for young child as there are plenty of games for them to play (Get for the parents who want to just kill some time in the free at zero cost!)
