Abbey Road Cafe reviews
53 It took 1 hour and 10 mins for them to make toast. They ended up getting the order wrong. Coffee was undrinkable, this is Melbourne coffee is meant to be good. U are given no cutlery and the music is so loud you can barely hear the person next to you. When you wait 1 hour and 10 mins for toast it should be warm and not from a getto no name brand. #thisismelbourne
The waiters yell and the reception is questionable.
Ordered a few coffees, the waitress was incredibly rude upon discovering we didn’t want to order a meal.i understand that the price of meals is a cost of business, but there is no need to get snappy when we don’t want to eat due to the price.
Very cool (I know, cheesy description, but the staff and local clientele are coo characters!) bar not far from the beach. Charismatic host welcomed us in and sorted a great table outside.great coffee, food, beer, wine.nice and easy for your trip to St Kilda.
Wow, not good! 55min wait for food that came out just warm that clearly was sitting around before getting to our table. Pork belly was the worst I've ever had! No crunch and super super salty! The other two plates of food was average, even for a Year 7 high school cooking class. Don't go!
Went in for a quick bacon and eggs, not sure how they managed it but the bacon was both burnt and cold. Three staff asked how it was, I gave the same reply, the food is cold, all three said "sorry about that" wow. Place was not busy when I was there so can't use that as an excuse.
We walked past one Sunday winter afternoon with a group of 6 and were attracted by the lovely warm atmosphere and well decorated venue. Lots of music memorabilia. One thing that was really noticeable was the staff and how onto everything they were.
Food was really good without being amazing.
When you have to wait for an hour for your meal while watching people come in after you, get fed and leave while your still waiting for your meal, no thanks. We were not the only ones who had to wait. Very poor service.
Terrible experience
waited for 40 just to be told they are out if calamari!
Just reflects un-exprienced management that they can't know their stock until the last second
will not return again for sure
Slow service, food is not great and one of the staff didn't wash their hands after using the toilet. Coffee was good that stopped the 1 you can skip this place
X 10
Me and my partner love coming here, the food and customer service is excellent. There is no shortage of stuff to look at inside and the vibe is awesome. The coffee is delicious EVERYTIME. It seems the place to be. 100 stars
Good place nice staff but there Souvlaki is something they should not do, dry no flavor - get rid of it and leave it to the Greeks (I'm not greek)
Great little spot. Sit outside chill and watch the pedestrian and tram traffic. Great atmosphere and food.
A summary of our experience last night
Cocktails: these were the only good thing
Beef and Guinness pie: pie was average. Disappointingly came with cold chips and gravy which was consistency of water.
Bruschetta: just bad - no basil, didn't taste fresh
(Our desserts were brought out together with the mains? Thought it would be obvious to bring it out after our meals. Obviously this meant ice-cream melted and bread pudding became cold by the time we were ready to eat it)
Banoffee pie: banana slices had a wet sponge taste. Gross! Girlfriend asked for vegan ice-cream because she's allergic to milk. They put vegan ice-cream but normal cream to decorate it?
Bread pudding: defenitely not a fresh bread pudding, crust tasted old. As mentioned it was cold by the time for to eat it
All in all - one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. We are both definitely not coming back ever again!
Very nice place dinner even in winter as they have heaters outside. They even do split bills in case you go with a massive group like we have last night. Awesome customer service. The only thing I would recommend that food comes at the same time.
These guys are the bomb! Love coming here, the staff are super friendly, don't think I've ever felt more welcome walking into a place for the first time. Food and especially the drinks are amazeballs, you have to order one of the frozen cocktails. They are just like. The bestest. Prices are spot on and the decor is legendary. Deffs right up there as one of me fav restaurants in the city and easily one of the best in the very competitive St Kilda area. Cheers xo
Been there from Adelaide a couple of weeks ago, and, I must say, 5 stars for the customer service thanks to Jess. She was just amazing, not only with us, but the caring way she was talking to an elderly gentleman near us, gave me back the hope that good people still exist. I could see that she was not doing that because she had to, she was doing that because she is just a caring and loving person.
Good Aperol Spritz
Abbey Raod is my favourite album by the Beatles and our family's Fav place to grab a steak, chilli con carne, beer & Strawberry Diquiri. We visit every month and go back smiling (like we did last night) and that's when I figured I have never posted a review to how much we enjoy the food and ambience here. Thank You Guys, keep that awesome steak going
Has a great vibe, was busy when other places were quiet so it’s obviously the place to be. Food was fine but not worth the price. No focus on covid safety. Charge extra to make nacho’s gluten free even though they state GF on the menu. Waiter was unable to explain why - weird.
Eggs & bacon. & a coffee. Perfection. 4.5 stars. Ill give them more stars once i know them for reliability. Ive only bin there ten times.this month. Like the music theme too. Great coffee. Bacon done just how i like it, which is the way it should always be done. Dont overcook ur bacon people. Or undercook which isnt usually the problem.
Love this place, and love how welcoming everyone is. A place you just want to keep going back to for a beer and a Parmi the size of your head.
