Visitor Info. Centre in wrong location, uphill and difficult for old people. Should be in front of house where Car Park was in earlier days. Restaurant under staffed, Waitress had to turn tourists away.

Fabulous, historic home that lets you learn something about early colonial life plus a fascinating family. Add to this a beautiful, huge rose garden and a fantastic restaurant and gift shop. A must visit attraction.

The food at the restaurant is great, although it has limited choices. When we visited there was a supply problem and hence reduced options. Definitely a great option if you're in the surrounds.

We had a wonderful tour of the grand house with the fabulous Lou. She really made the house come alive with interesting facts and anecdotes. Having the one family continuously live on the property makes the presentation and artifacts very special. The rose gardens were in full bloom and we were blessed with wonderful weather.
Knowing the estate is largely run by volunteers makes it extra special.
Highly recommended and well worth the entry fee.

Amazing gardens and so lovely strolling through all the old buildings. So grateful that this has been preserved so well for future generations. Restaurant meals are to die for! So delicious. Highly recommend this as a relaxing day out.

A great venue, food was delicious. However lack of lighting that could not be turned on for some reason was dangerous as we attended an evening function

Good, but slightly limited menu. Waiting for venue to be licensed. Excellent position in this historic precinct.
Parking and wheel chair access very good.

So wonderful to walk around this estate and step inside the original home, left completely as it was by the original owners.

July 2021. Woolmers Estate, located a few kilometres outside of Longford is a must if you're on the convict trail, or heritage trail around Tasmania. The estate offers a brilliant insight into the lives of the northern settlement years of Tasmania and the relationships between the free settlers and the convicts. Fairly well intact, there are many stories to be told here. Ensure that you book a house tour to explore the inside of the main estate building, and a convict tour to understand the stories of the past. This is a must for anyone looking for Tasmanian history, and a scarcely different story to that of Port Arthur.

Always great service and food. A little hidden treasurer with a great outlook in such an important historic site

Very nice and modern reception building. Friendly staff. Did the self-guided tour, and found it very interesting. It's just a shame there's nothing to eat till after midday.

A must see while in Tasmania. Loads of interesting Tasmanian history, beautiful gardens, cafe, souvenirs. You will need a couple of hours to enjoy this historic house and farm.

Ok, listen up, those that know me, know I say it as it is, so here I go. Absolutely the best highlight of out trip. We booked the tour prior to leaving Melbourne. Well can these girls really provide service. When in Launceston, we received a call saying the tour was scheduled for a later time. Hello, is that service or is that service, it is service! Then came the highlight, we were greeted by our lovely tour guide, and shown around the estate. If you have not been to visit this place, you are really missing out. Woomers Estate left us wanting to hear and see more of this historical place. The guide spoke with such knowledge, it made us feel like we were there, in those earlier times, as the occupants of the house. This place is an absolute to put on your list of 'to do' things. I thank everyone at Woolmers Estate, who made our trip truly memorable. I just feel we need to go back for more. I highgly recommend to you, Woolmers Estate for your next attraction when you are in Launceston. Thank you all. Dezi George.

5 stars for the amazing food that we had, 1 star for the lack of care and empathy when trying to organise a special video to be played from grandparents unable to attend their grandson's wedding. Emails requests ignored and then on the day rubbed in my face because I had to email someone else to try and organise something. The TV near the toilets showed your lack of care.

I have rose garden envy! So many varieties of beautiful healthy plants in full bloom. We thought we'd just drop by for a quick visit but ended up spending a couple of hours here, there was so much to look at. Explored the fascinating history of the property and views of the local landscape before going in to enjoy the local artists on exhibit in the gallery. Restaurant on site is a cool respite from the sun with beautiful views of the gardens and estate. The staff were so friendly and chatty, full of information and great tips. My only disappointment was that they got rid of the original apple orchard to build the car park. Otherwise a highlight of our visit to Tassie.

Unexpectedly wowed by this beautiful and historic location. Rolling green hills, Regal gardens surrounded by farm life and heritage buildings make you feel like you enter an alternate universe. Self guided or arranged tour options available to view the buildings that were built by convicts in the early 1800s. Gorgeous restaurant with delicious options. Highly recommend a visit if you’re passing by or even to make a special trip from Launceston or Hobart, it’s an easy drive from either city. Only wish we could’ve stayed there a day or two, accommodation options are available.

Shannon's Car show was fantastic. The only problem was the show cars had to drive over red dirt roads to get to display area. This cause the cars to be covered in red dust. Very annoying.
Overall great venue
