We loved our stay at the Settlers Hut with Graham and Christine! They were amazing hosts, so helpful and so accomodating! The location is perfect - close to the Scottsdale Rail Trail and the Blue Derby trails, but the secluded location of the property allows for privacy and a closeness to nature. The Settlers Hut was a great little gem - furnished with everything you would need - comfortable beds, plenty of cookware and clean linen and a heater that kept us nice and toasty after some wet and rainy rides in Derby. We wish we could have stayed longer! This was by far the best experience in the most beautiful location - with so much to do in the area. Thanks again, Christine and Graham - we will be back!:)

An absolute gem. We stayed here for three wonderful nights, and loved it. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by the hosts, Graham and Christine. The property itself is a tranquil hideaway set in a bend of the Ringarooma River. You get a lovely rural outlook, with no noise other than the sound of the water. The cottages a works of art. They are rustic in appearance, and yet modern in amenity. Everything you could need can be found inside, including full cooking facilities, a gas log fire, and a very comfortable bed. We booked one of the spa cottages as a treat. Watching the Milky Way from the outdoor spa was incredible! Even a possum decided to join us for this activity! There are plenty of drives in the area too. A visit in the hills to the abandoned Mt Paris Dam is well worth the effort. We also loved the beaches at Little Musselroe Bay. I really can't recommend Tin Dragon Cottages highly enough.

Great place to stay for biking in Derby. The Settlers Hut is well stocked and well finished. Only a 5min drive into Derby for all your biking needs. Graeme and Christine are very welcoming.

Wow what an interesting stay we had during the recent June 2016 floods. The storm followed us in and the rain was relentless over several days. From the very comfortable, dry and warm Ah Back cottage we were perfectly located to watch the river break its banks from both sides of the cottage. While witnessing mother nature in this form first hand was an unexpected event, we were not at all alarmed. When road access on and off the property delayed our departure we were generously provided another night's accommodation along with additional supplies for the kitchen. Throughout, the hosts kept us well informed but at the same time were not invasive. We were particularly grateful to have been shown the micro hydro scheme immediately following our request on arrival and to tour the productive garden once the rain had subsided. We enjoyed wildlife at the door of our cabin and look forward to exploring the property more fully on our next visit. The 5 cottages are positioned high and dry, and while each is generally booked separately, collectively they are ideal for a large booking. We will definitely be returning.
