A gorgeous farm experience with Alpacas. 10 lovely alpacas will greet you just outside your cottages. Cottages are well furnished and equipped. Definitely I will come back someday.

Looking for somewhere special to spend our anniversary, Tin Dragon cottages certainly delivered. Such a spectacular part of the world to visit, so much to see and do. Had a crack at mountain biking in Derby (8 min drive) which was awsome fun, beautiful and exhausting so the outdoor spa back at our cottage was a very good way to relax afterward. Very warm welcome on arrival, pretty much free to roam Christine and Graham's lush property right on the river. Thanks for a private and warm stay. Ah Back we'll be back!

We found these delightful cottages nestled in a quaint farmland setting surrounded by a huge river to be everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. Well appointed with full kitchen for our own cooking. Beds that were very comfy for a great nights sleep. Lovely helpful hosts all for a decent price.

When we arrived there was no one there to greet us upon arrival, Instead we were just messaged and told to sign a form hanging on the office door and had to guess our way to our cottage for the night with no map provided. When we found our accommodation we were greeted with an ant nest in the window next to the bed. The bathroom had one of the shower heads taken out to make it a single shower when in the description of the place clearly states double shower head. There was no bbq outside when again, the description states we would be provided with a BBQ. The hot tub, whilst lovely to sit in at night wasn't ready when we arrived and with no instructions on how to fill it we had to call Graham to help us work it out. And with no tv service and no wifi the information sheet stated we can head up to reception to grab a movie to watch for the night, when we messaged Graham asking if we could come up he replied not until he's back, when asked when we could come then we received no response.
Honestly, the cottage was cute but the host was not accommodating in the slightest, I guess all guests aren't treated equally:)

Amazingly beautiful place to stay. Clean, friendly and just a beautiful location. Great for staying if you are biking, hiking or photographing the region. Thanks Christine and Graham.

Nice quiet location, and the gas heating had us toasty and warm and the outdoor spar bath is excellent.
We stayed two nights while racing in Derby only 10 minutes out of Branxholm.

Divine cottage with everything you would need for a home away from home stay with the addition of excellent hosts who care very much for the environment. Christine and Graham have developed an amazing property which has alpacas grazing in the adjoining paddock, a fascinating history trail of the Chinese Tin Miners, a riverside walk and much more. Graham generously took us on a tour of the property explaining his hydro system.

We have been looking forward to our stay for months and were not disappointed. A beautiful piece of Australia - Christine and Graham have thought of everything, a truly peaceful retreat, with alpacas, chickens and a beautiful sunset. Also helped to be nice and close to Derby trials as well. Can’t wait to come back. The trip from Canberra was worth it!

I just spent a week at the Settlers Hut as a base for a mountain biking trip to Derby and St Helens. Fantastic feeling of living in the forest enjoying beautiful scenery and tranquility, along with a sense of local history and heritage.

The Settlers Hut is perfectly comfortable with good facilities and a lovely detached bathroom. There are facilities for cooking outdoors and a fire pit to enjoy on cooler evenings.

The hosts are most welcoming, knowledgeable and informative. They are passionate about sustainability, renewable energy and tourism.

Wonderful spot to stay in this pristine corner of north east Tasmania. Can't wait to return.

I was only able to stay one night at these stunning cottages but I wish I could have stayed all week! The cottage was immaculate with all the essentials and the spa was a much needed treat to the end of my holiday through tassie. Graham and Christine were the most wonderful hosts with an incredible property to share with guests. They were extremely hospitable and welcoming which was the cherry on top of my perfect night stay. I will absolutely be recommending the cottages to all my friends and family. Thanks again for having me and I hope to be back very soon!

We booked the entire venue in early January to host a photography workshop with attendees from around the world. It was wonderful to be able to share this peaceful and beautiful little corner of Australia with photographers from Poland, the UK, Canada and the USA. In addition to the perfectly outfitted cottages and Settler's Hut, we also were the very first group to make use of the recently completed Barn. It was the central hub for our classroom time, socialising time and all meals, lovingly prepared by Christine, Graham and their son James (who is an excellent barista). It was fantastic to have full use of this building in such a beautiful and inspirational setting and we greatly enjoyed our morning yoga on the deck each day. Being fully catered, everything was taken care of and we could concentrate on giving our attendees the best possible learning experience. Christine and Graham were friendly, accommodating and helpful - always on hand to make sure we had everything we needed and were well fed and looked after. We especially loved the BBQ by the river on our final day, with a surprise visit from the resident swimming Alpacas! We highly recommend Tin Dragon Cottages as the perfect eco-friendly all-inclusive venue for your next workshop or special event!

I'm writing this in behalf of my husband and brother in law who recently stayed in The Settlers Inn.
This is great accommodation as its only 5 minutes drive to Derby trail head. Facilities included hot showers, a washing machine, cooking facilities and an awesome fire pit area with heaps of wood provided.
The highlight was the fresh eggs from Christine and Graham's free range hens.
The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and to their property.
We look forward to returning in the future.

Lovely stay nestled next to the beautiful Ringarooma River. We really enjoyed the cottages’ chickens, alpacas and abundant wild pademelons.

Thank you Christine and Graham for your wonderful hospitality.

These cottages are beautifully appointed inside, cozy & comfy. Full cooking facilities, washing machine, TV, log look gas fire place, Italian leather recliner lounge, plenty of hot water, & some of the cabins have an outdoor spa! The property is skirted by a river which offers Platypus sightings and some beautiful walks. The owners chickens are curious and fun entertainment too! There is a nearby IGA and a fantastic pub for meals. Also just 8km from Derby & the bike trails
