The Wharf Hotel Wynyard

Went for birthday tea, we had a really long wait for our meal, They did offer free drinks. When our meals did come it wasn't the best. Not sure I'll ever go back for meals again.

Went in for lunch 8 minutes to 12, decided to ask staff if I could place my order 8 minutes early (with full expectation that cooking won’t start until 12). Was told that service doesn’t start until 12. The rigidity of such a refusal was odd but I copped that sweet. As I walked away I heard staff mocking me to one another, for a perfectly legitimate service question given it was only 8 minutes. Not only did that piss me off, he then proceeds to tell another patron that they can’t use flyspray during service hours…despite it apparently being 8 minutes prior to being service hours…
7 potential orders (around $300) then went to the Federal Hotel instead prior to a single order being taken.
Don’t want to take an order trivially early? That’s fine, house rules. Mock me within earshot for my legitimate question? Won’t get a cent off me, ever.

Full of flies when asked 10 minutes before the kitchen actually opened if they could spray some fly spray and was told not during service hours.there was no one else in our area of dining and told by the waiter 'that obviously all the doors are open and obviously they will just keep coming! ', super unhygienic. Wonder what the kitchens like if there's that many flies in the dining area. As for the girl behind the bar who was doing computer work but is the bar girl obviously we inconvenienced you greatly coming to order a drink when you just stood there glaring at us and then rolled your eyes when we said dont worry about it. We also ran Into some of your other customers at the other pub who walked out because they were also disgusted in how rude the male waiter with the blonde hair is. When they asked 5 minutes before the kitchen opened if they could order and were told no and as they walked away heard you say rudely that's why there's signs everywhere.

Friendly staff, food cooked just right. Staff very helpful with large families with children.

Went there on a recommendation, sorry folks can't recommend you on. The service might have been quick but the food quality needs some attention, especially with the amount of competition around

2.5 hrs for a pizza
Service was extremely slow and staff in the theater room rude!

I am a big fella, the meal we had was exceptional, more than enough. The meal was fantastic in every way, the service was superb.
Will we go back often? I think so. Thank you Wharf Hotel Wynyard.

We stayed in a group for a Night. Fair pricing and would like to recommend for others. Staffs are friendly and smiley.will book again if visiting wynard again.

My wife and I had dinner Wednesday night I had Tbone vegies steak ordered rare cooked well vegies microwaved half were warm half cold the wife had garlic prawns no creamy sauce honestly can’t recommend waitresses tried but received flack from another table for same issues

Relaxed atmosphere and a nice sunny outdoor area. Selection of drinks was good, and the hot chips were tasty. Pleasant local staff who were very attentive and engaging.

The room is not bad. We have 3 bed 1 is queen size and 2 are single.its suit for 4 of us 2 kids and 2 adults. However there is no enough space in the room, and no table for making coffee apart from that all good.

Food was very disappointing Chicken burger was bland and undercooked bacon and Chicken salad with crispy noodles had good flavour but hardly any salad leaves and crispy noodles were stale and way to many.
Service was good.

Had food delivered with wharf on wheels. Received the wrong pizza and food toasted soapy and caused my partner to throw up

Burger was beautiful, chicken curry dry no sauce, buffalo wings was nice but found hair in salad

Great service, great menu variety, reasonable prices, great river views, hard to beat in Wynyard

We stopped in for a meal and were very disappointed one of the meals was seafood chowder the prawns were still in their shell not a pleasant mouth full.the other meal was a pizza which even though it was loaded the smell was not palatable suggest you try elsewhere

We recently stayed at the wharf Hotel in Wynyard and it was wonderful. Central to everything. Fantastic view in a modernized room in an old world hotel. Warmth from the staff and meals were absolutely delightful. Why go to a large flashy hotel with little warmth and meals too expensive. Thank you Kyle for all your kindness in more ways than one. Lovely fresh flake, super fast service even though really busy. Recommend for a feed and a pint.

Service was mint drink's weren't too pricey even though it's a public holiday. Only bad thing is the locals don't like mainlanders
