OMG awesome for Coeliac. Huge range of food and I got to have fish and chips. Unheard of. Best vodka soda mix. Family friendly. Inside and outside seating.

Beach pub with a well done garden/outside area, a restaurant, pool table and some arcades/games. The food is amazing and the staff is great. Kudos to the chef Javier. He knows how to cook a nice juice piece of meat and more!

The last two visits gave me food poisoning from the parmi.
It takes forever to get a beer when you order in the restaurant.
They close all the tils at 8pm without telling you (I was seated in the restaurant) so you can't order anything else. Bizarre they don't seem to care about the customer experience.

$29 for a parmy that comes with coleslaw instead of salad is a bit pricey. They only do table service in the restaurant so couldn't order a drink at the bar - but a 20m walk around to the other side of the building and I could order a drink.

Other meals I saw were just normal pub food but marked up - maybe because it's on the beach? $28 for a burger and chips isn't great.

Not the best meal I have ever had! And overpriced! So are the drinks. $36 for poor fish & chips meal & lemon & lime drink

Great food, amazing staff. We had a function at The Salty Dog in memory of my recently deceased father-in-law and Adriano, Dani, and the team went above and beyond in helping us organise it at relatively short notice and making it a memorable occasion for us and the family. A huge thank you to you all!

Nice service and location but the food was ordinary. I had fish and chips - the batter was soft and the chips overcooked and hard.

Prices are overpriced for the quality of the food. Presentation is ok but dessert menu leaves a lot to be desired. Classics like Eaton mess appear on the menu but do not contain the signature ingredients, meringue is non existant and cream has been replaced by coconut cream. As a group of eight we were very disappointed with all but one of our meals. The only real positive was that the waiter was friendly and professional

Wish this was my local.
Great location. Great food & drinks.
Great service.
I'd be a regular if I lived in Tassie.
Will be back.

Great place for a drink, however I have never seen food prices like this outside of an airport. $34 for a chicken caeser salad, an extra $5 for mushroom sauce on your parmi? Absolutely insane.

Way too expensive - $38 for a bowl of chips, pint of Blue Moon and a house white, cant justify that price anymore. Staff are amazing though

Come here if you want the best chicken Parmigiana in Tasmania! It was that good. Will definitely be coming here again and recommending it to all my mates. Efficient service too and amazing view, I had a stroll along the beach with an ice cream afterwards.

The culinary experience started when myself and my partner entered in tow with two toddlers and two doggos trying to find a respite for a food spot and wanted to try the famous dog meet area. When half the party were settled outside, myself and one toddler were greeted by an older bar lass, who led with "I hope you have shoes for that kid, there is broken glass around. " I proceeded to pick little lass up, where I balanced an order with said toddler. Unfortunately said salty dog did not like the idea of carrying 4 drinks outside for me while I balanced my toddler and attempted to pay with the other hand, but we got there with the help of another service professional. Also had a very startling Ricky Gervais moment where said salty interrupted my order to make sure all kids meals ordered (3) were for the children and not the adults. Clearly an important distinction to her. I ordered the seafood chowder to keep her happy. Which wasn't so much seafood as it was a few pieces of mixed offcuts combined with wads of vegetables and corn resembling exactly what my salty dog had ejected on the beach earlier and tasting, pretty much like lentil soup with marinara mix tossed in at the end. Highly don't recommend that anyone go for the service, or the food. Overpriced and under Cooked.
What is left in a restraunt I leave for the reader to search for.
Thanks salty dog. You really lived up to your name.

Came around 3 times to ask what i ordered,
Came out when everyone else had finished.
Cold chicken and chips and the plain gravy tasted like vinegar
Gets 1 star They served cold beer

Great bao buns with pork belly, really nice dressing etc. Also buttermilk deep-fried chicken wing pieces with Korean sauce.
Great extensive menu as well as beer (including tap) and wine. Sit inside or outside in the good sized beer garden.

Great for a beer but not the food.
Overpriced pub food.
They try to charge like a decent restaurant, but don't deliver the same quality food.
The pork belly was literally a couple of slices of crackle without the actual pork.
Then there was no sides of anything other than a few pieces of salad.
No potato, no vegetables.
For the exuberant price it should have had more. The food took over an hour to come and then half the food turned up cold.
Pretty poor service too.
I get it is a busy place on a weekend with nice weather, but you have to have the ability to handle the occasion or just don't bother.
